Link Darksun strolled calmly down the street, reflecting on the actions that he had taken in defense of his enemy's capital.
He shook his head to clear that thought out.

A Jedi has no enemies.
To consider someone an enemy, one had to have hate in their hearts for that person. And the path to the Dark Side is paved with hate and malice.

No, he had opponents. Opponents that he had to be catious and wary of, opponents who stared at him from the other side of the battlefield.
And they would go out of their way to inflict harm upon him, even death.

The Force had much left for him to do before his dying day. To end it prematurely would leave much undone in the galaxy. And he could not rest in peace with uncompleted tasks weighing on his soul.

Of this he was certain.
And so, he reflected on what he had done to defend a world hostile to his existance, Opponents who classified him as an enemy in every sense of the word.

Had he let the terrorists go through with their attack, there would be much chaos in the heart of the Sith Empire. Krayt would look weak and ineffectual, unable to defend his own capital from mere terrorists.
More and more people would rise up to oppose him.

But the cost would be phenominal.
An antimatter bomb could concievably wipe out tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands in Coruscant's cramped cityscape.

But would the cost have been that great, in the scheme of things?
In a galaxy of millions of populated worlds, would that many lives have been an acceptable price to pay for the Sith Lord's downfall, an event which would concievably save many times more lives?

He shook his head to clear out that thought as well.
So much more blood would be on his hands had he stood by and done nothing. There were other ways to defeat Krayt. Better ways.

But many of those he could not do anymore.
He had dawdled too much, wasted to much time. The Sith were bound to catch on sooner or later, if they did not know he was here already. And were he to actively move against Krayt, they would have little trouble finding him and overwhelming him.
As long as he was on Sith held Coruscant, he was powerless.

He needed to get off world, and soon.
It would be only a matter of time before the Sith would stop being such polite hosts, no matter how much he upheld their laws and protected their citizens.
He was a Jedi, their enemy. And they would not hesitate to kill him.

As the young Jedi walked, deep in thought, he failed to notice he had drawn unwanted attention.
A small spherical metallic object rolled beneath him and he looked down in puzzlement as the stun grenade went off, the brilliant flash blasting Link into unconciousness.

Four armored figures slowly moved towards the limp form of the fallen man, rifles raised and aimed. The leader of the group cast an eye towards the shocked civillians before drawing out an Ident-card from a pocket and flashing it at them.

"Authorized Bounty hunters, folks. This man is wanted on Besbin for six accounts of assault with intent to maim and for attempted murder. Go about your buisness. Legal House Kellani Posting."

The people did so. As shocking as the scene was, it was all a legit operation.

"You sure this is the guy Rudar?" A hunter asked the leader. "He doesnt match the holo."

The man knelt down to examine Link closer and oppened one of the young man's eyes.
"Facial structure is a close match. The Hair is a dye job, you can see the roots are blond. And I'll bet money that he dyed his irises too. Too often its the simplest disquises that work."

"Check this." Another hunter said, gesturing to Link's freshly opened carrying case. "Its a vibrosword and Gaffi stick, plus the knife used in the incident. This is our man alright."

"Good." Rudar nodded. "Lets pack him up and go. I'd rather not waste anymore time on this job. It took forever to find him."

"Should we check him for weapons, boss?"

"Why?" Rudar said, gesturing to the carrying case. "Its all right here. We stick his stunned a** in a stasis tube and sword-boy wont give us any trouble on the ride out to Besbin. Thats a cool fifty k to our bank account."

And so the hunters dragged the unconcious Link off, unaware of their latest catch's true worth and sealing Link's fate at the hands of those he had wronged....

((Yes! Time to deliver a devestating blow!))

Contruum and Wayland. Each was an important center for Elladan Kenet. One was a source of technology and capital ships, the other a source of starfighters, spare parts, and ground equipment. Borill smiled to himself as he watched the ships begin to check in, already they'd been swiftly moved to their jump off locations. Beside him Kusei glanced at the displays, "Even if our leak spills the beans on our objectives we'll be attacking before enemy reinforcements arrive. If he's not a ship captain or part of the bridge crew Kenet won't even have that minor warning."

"Good, begin the countdown. Inform Commodore Kull she may commence offensive operations." Borill pulled a small tabacc cigar from his pocket and smiled, "I've been saving this for a grand battle... I think we'll have one soon enough."

One of the Comm Officers turned, "Sir, Draw Force One and Two have entered hyperspace."

It would take approxamately six minutes for the two small task forces to arrive in the vicinity of Wayland. Irritated Borill rubbed his chin and focused his cobalt blue eyes on the display, it wouldn't be long now...

"Commodore Kull's force reports that they have arrived at Contruum. Resistance is light. Mostly starfighters and system patrol craft."

Borill smiled at that, "Elladan didn't anticipate a strike on Contruum, good. The two carrier task forces attached to that operation should be more then sufficient. Not to mention the destroyer squadron that the Garos IV Sector Fleet donated."

Borill grinned to himself, "Two full sector fleets launching a direct attack at once... even if Elladan Kenet deployed all his ships at Wayland he'll be outnumbered two to one."

Over Wayland two groups of twelve ships dropped from hyperspace, the two Draw Forces. These twenty-four ships deployed well away from Wayland itself in two seperate groups. They were both frigate squadrons, each squadron had eight Wombat II-class Star Frigates in additon to four Gladius-class Star Frigates. The forces of Elladan Kenet detected their arrival immediately.

Borill nodded to himself, "To win Elladan Kenet will have to discover a weakness in our ships or spring a trap of his own. He glanced at his order of battle and smiled, "The two Pelleaons alone would be threat enough, but four Beldon-class Battlecruisers and four Revenge II-class Carriers from our sector fleets and dozens of smaller vessels make this an operation that will test his metal for sure." Borill smiled to himself, "Not to mention the Mando'ade's toys and my personal command."

Within minutes, sure enough, the battle had begun. Things were bad, but could be far worse. Wayland indeed was attacked, and he was ready with no less than twenty of his Victories, dozens of Canderouses, and hundreds of fighters, plus about thirty Acclamantors, a few missle frigates, the carrier he'd captured about two months before hand, and his Nemesis command-ship.

The bad part was Contruum was also hit, and the defesnes there were, as by his orders, skeletal. A single frigate, the planetary defenses, and a handful of fighter squadrons; no match at all for the carrier and the destroyers that came to help them.

So, he had to make very good decisions very quickly. "Is the LT Transverter in the area?" Elshae'k demanded as he stepped onto the bridge. By now it was quite obvious they were under attack, and Sven already had every alarm needed going off.

"Luckily, sir," the captain called. "It was installed onboard this ship a week ago. We just need to get close enough to use it."

"Unlikely that'll happen," the chiss replied. "Have all ships ready for Battle Formation #2. One group, support craft on the sides, protecting the Nemesis. Have the picket defences ready."

"Incoming from Contruum," the nearby comm officer called. "Two carrier escorts and a star destroyer squadron. The Onderon/Dxun fleet won't arrive for another five minutes."

"Contruum may not last that long," he answered. "Have word sent to Mandalore and Taris to divert Group Seven there. What about the ships from Mandal?"

"They won't be able to arrive for one hour," the voice of Mandalore answered over his comm unit. "Word was sent beforehand of the possible attack. They're sending a good portion over to flank them."

Good news at last. "Do we have our commando teams ready?"

"All set," he replied. "One hundred ramships ready to launch, filled with our forces. Your Noghri decided to join in too, with their....eheheh, space suits."

"Good." Finally, he turned to Kathleen, his trump card. "You said you could help?"

"I can," she answered. "Ihaven't used it much, but I can perform Battle Meditation."

At that, the chiss stared at her. Could he really be so lucky. "Battle Medittion?!"

"Yes. Force- ability that makes me empower your forces to perform better-"

"I know that! Why didn't you say so before! We could've used that at Junction!"

She shrugged. "You didn't ask. Today I thought it prudent."

He glared. ".... Fine. You may have my quarters to meditate all you want Will that be good?"

"Yes." She immediately left.

Kusei sighed, the wonders of cyber espionage never failed to amaze, and now she had information that could truly tip the balance of power in the battle once joined, "Admiral... I'm getting a constant barrage of reports from the transmitter programs now... The enemy is planning on using battle meditation as well as their LT Transverter to equalize the situation."

Borill nodded, "There are means by which Battle Meditation can be countered, and the LT Transverter is something which we both know is no threat to us. In order to use it without affecting their own forces they have to transmit the modulation code, and that means we'll have the code as well. Your clan's cyber-skullduggery is what makes this battle possible. Is our little surprise ready?"

"Yes Admiral."

"Good." Borill turned back to the displays as the fur on his back stood on end, a bothan display of nervousness, "Alright, we'll launch the attack just as planned. Hammer and anvil formation. All ships, jump!"

Moments later the fleet left hyperspace between the two draw groups. At its front were four destroyer squadrons, compossed primarily of Nemesis-class Star Destroyers. This added up to thirty-two Nemesis-class ships and an additional sixteen Stalwarth-class star destroyers. The destroyer squadrons were deployed in an Assault Wall Formation, stacked one on top of the other in the vertical, with the missile destroyers deployed a further kilometer behind the wall in support positions. Behind the wall the heavies fanned out: the two Pelleaon-class Star Dreadnaughts, four Beldon-class Star Battlecruisers, and five Revenge-II Class Star Cruisers with the Hektor's Shield among them. Mixed in with the heavies was a reserve destroyer squadron and the two capturered Canderous-class Star Frigates, these created a protective cloud of twelve destroyers around the heavies.

On either side of the formation the draw groups had been reinforced, six more frigate squadrons had deployed transforming the draw groups into flank guards.

And to cap it all off there still were reserves waiting in hyperspace. The enemy couldn't run, boxed in with Wayland's gravity well and the dozens of gravity wells projected by the oncoming fleet.

Archaras leaned forward, close to her face, eyes closed, seeing the tissue with his closed eyes and gently resuscitating them. He pulled back a half inch when the work was completed, and he saw her eyes flutter.

Then she muttered something, and before he knew what was happening, she was shoving her tongue down his throat.

This went on for a moment, with Archaras struggling rather impotentlyagainst her, until she woke fully up.

Archaras pulled back, wide eyed and said "I'm flattered milady, but I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting. I'm Colonel Archaras Seraphim."

He stood, and helped her up. "There are numerous vessels awaiting you in the bays Miss Starsinger, as for me, I must take care of something," The Echani said as he looked at them, he smiled, and the swept off.

Two minutes later, Archaras was standing in the express turbolift, smiling, and running through forms in his head. Quietly he began humming the tune of the Legionnaire's Hymn. The Turbolift stopped, and the doors slid open. Archaras, still humming, walked out into Roman Lynch's private office.

Said Roman Lynch was busy hurling valuables into a bag. He stopped and looked up in surprise.

"Mister Russ...If that's even your name which I'm sure it isn't, it appears as though you've accomplished your mission, which appears to be ruining me, I'm surprised you have enough venom to come here, no doubt seeking my life. At least I shall have some small manner of satisfaction at seeing your corpse," The Crimelord monologued.

Archaras gracefully leaped over the metal shod fist as it pounded through the air where the Knight's Torso had been. He turned as he landed, facing Miggs, who was completely decked out in some form of armor. Archaras smiled at him as the oversized thug growled "Now I'ma teach you to suck void!"

Archaras smiled back at him, then said "doubtful."

Miggs roared then started throwing all manner of sloppy, ill-timed, yet strong punches. Archaras dodged each of them gracefully. About a minute into the fight, The Echani wrapped his arms around one of Miggs much larger limbs, and pulled himself onto his shoulders. He glanced down, smiled, and with one finger, pushed the larger man's carotid artery out of place.

He fell with a burbling groan and a massive thud.

Archaras walked toward Lynch, who was sitting behind his desk, eyes wide with surprise.

"Well, I'm sure...we could...ah...find some way of...uhm...compensating you," Lynch said as he reached for the computer on his desk. Archaras blocked the hold out blaster shot with a flash draw of his Saber, deflecting it back into the Crime Lord's chest, where it tore a fist sized hole. Archaras walked forward, stepped over the now dead Lynch, who was laying face first on the ground. He sat down behind the computer, and said "ICIS, be a dear and remove half of Lynch's funds and transfer it to as many dummy accounts as you feel are necessary."

"Only half," Came the woman's voice in his ear. "Yes. Then doctor the accounts to make it appear that the remaining half was all he had, and leave it for the Hutts," The Officer replied, leaning back in the luxurious recliner.

"Processing..." Intoned the AI, "Alright its done. Let's get out of here."

Archaras, grinning, nodded, and turned, headed back down the turbolift and to the docking bays where his allies were waiting.

((Time to join in the fight!))

Leaving Hyperspace on the flanking side of the enemy fleet were three X-Cruisers. A comm opened up to the Manda'lore.
"kkzkk-Mand'alor, we are the Mando'ade coming from Concord Dawn. I am Ree Va'nav, son of the late Mand'alor the Hope. We have been trying to find you recently, but we didn't expect a battle. We are preping our fighters as I speak. Va'nav out!-kkzkk"
Ree turned to Kier.
"How old are these comms?!"
"Old. Because of the war, all that was left on Concord were the old Q-Carriers and these three X-Curisers. But, like all Mandalorian machines, they are always strong!"
"Alright, well, get me a fighter ready, I'll lead the squadrons."
As he ran down to the hanger, all he could think about was, I hope these Gladiators hold together...

Jaden nodded, "Yes my master," he said and then followed the cropwd of soldier and got a ride to the barracks.

***

After finding his room, Jaden sighed as he changed his clothes and layed on his bed, relaxing, but remembered what he had to do. Jaden accesed the information he had recived, and began to train slowly, but hard. He spent atleast half the night learning basics of Hijkata, and Juyo, and slowly learning more and more.

By the time he was done he was a sweaty mess and decided to decided to take a nice long rest, and would await to be awakended when needed.

((Whats this... obsolete Mandalorian ships! Easy pickings.))

The Left Flank of the Fleet saw the newly arrived vessels immediately. But the collection of old starships faced a threat more then equal to their strengths, there were three frigate squadrons facing the motley collection of aging hulks. That meant the collection faced twelve Gladius-class Star Frigates and the two full wings of Predator fighters they could wield. In addition the twenty-four Wombat II-class Star Frigates turned toward the threat and spread out into a loose assault wall, with the twelve Gladius Frigates forming into a loose group behind the collected firepower of the enemy. Their Starfighter Squadrons lanced out to form a further barrier.

Borill watched the ships deploy under the group command, "He's a good subordinate, I must remember to recommend his promotion. Have the Havoc launch four Bomber squadrons and move to back up the frigate squadrons. A Revenge II-class should make short work of those opposite her."

((Don't judge a book by its cover... MUAHAHAHAHA!))

Fier moved to the control deck.
"Open the sheilds!"
The ships' forward hulls began to moved and spin, as large bulking think hulls moved infront of them. In the corner of every connection, heavy turbolasers stuck out, and began to open up fire. Heavy tubrolasers and heavy torpedo lanuched opened up from the sides, and prepared for a side attack.
"This is the Fenrir; Isis hold to the left, Falken hold to the right. Launch all fighters, and fallow command of Ree."
He rubbed his chin for a moment.
"Is the scout ready? Yes? Then launch it back to Moonus Mandal!"

------------

Ree moved into the hanger, and was shocked by what he found.
"These fighters look like Banatha Poo-Doo!"
The chief engineer moved over to him.
"Top of the line parts. We keep them looking like Poo-Doo for a reason."
Ree turned his head, not trusting him yet.
"Trust me, sir, they are good. These things fly as good as Predators."
"They better... or else..."
Ree moved into the cockpit and took off, with the all the fighters of their fleet fallowing..."

(I said I wasn't done stare )

With Kathleen now doing her part, locked away in the commander's chambers, the leader hoped his last ploy would work. It was a brazen move, but one that had proved all too effective. The downside was with the gravity-cones preventing their own escape, and messing with their ultra-long range scanners. They'd have to sit tight and take the orst of it before the ambush hit.

Only only he knew it was coming.

"Overall fighting force is 74 destroyers and larger, plus several squads of frigates. Our own top off at about 30 Victories, 30 Acclamantors, nearly a hundred Canderouses, the carrier, and the Nemesis-clss commandship. Everything else is frigate and smaller." the lead tactical oficer read the latst readout.

"Overall, we almost match them in numbers," Sven commented. "But in sheer force they easily overwhelm us. The Pellaeon's and Revenges alone are enough to handle most of the destroyers."

"Indeed they are, but I don't think he'll take them that close..." he frowned, watching the tactical. "His fleet is in an obvious attack position, but still holding back on purpose. See how they wall up into no less than three formations? It's as if he's trying to give us the impression of attack, but still being cautious..." Elladan shook his head. "I've never seen him pull something this subtle. There must be some new piece of data he's recovered from us, or he wants us to take the offensive."

"So he's baiting us?" Sven asked, as the two leets began to slowly close the gap.

"Possibly.. but I don't know for sure. They know we have the LT, obviously, and they likely expect us to use it. This, however, makes it look like they almost WANT us to use it. Our strategy was get in close, activate it, and assault them at point-blank. Now, if we were to try and fail, the consequences would be disastrous."

"I agree. Shall we not use it then?"

The chiss looked around. All about him,his most trusted crew worked at the bridge. Most everyone in the fleet, much less this ship, knew of the Transverter, and his plans to use it.... however, only the bridge knew the codes.... and when it was being launched.

Therefore, the answer was simple. He had a traitor.

~

From Mandalore, two back-up Task Forces were already being diverted; one to Contruum, the other to Wayland. Mandalore the Crusader was on route to bbattle at Wayland, when his forces picked up the transmission from Ree Va'nav.

"Soldier, glad to see our brothers came to arms," he called over the static of th old comm units. "Can you switch to a more secure channel so you can get your update?"

With him was his own Canderous command ship, two dozen escorting Canderouses, and a dozen other frigates, as well as a dozen Lancer corvettes. The other Task Force was of near equal strength, as was the one at Taris.

Freya merely shook her head at the Colonel. "Like, whatever," she said to the man. She then looked to the others, a pair of E-54s in each hand. "So, like, did you leave any for me?"

Gunther shook his head. "It seems that we've seemed to have cleared most out."

"Your own ship is outside, and we can take you to it," Kalnar offered.

"Like, let's go, dude," Freya said to the Mon Cal.

He set the channel secure, as did the rest of the fleet.
"Mand'alor, this is Va'nav and I am leading this fleet. We have a small diversion going. Our forces are better then they look, this is just a front. Also, we have eleven more X-Cruisers awaiting command at Moonus Mandal, to jump in and flank on the enemy--"
The Mando'ade fighters were almost in range of the enemy.
"All fighter, launch long range burst missles, and fire when in range!"
A total of 145 fighter launched streams of burst missles, and then began to open up with laser fire after the missles reached there targets.
"--Mand'alor! We are at your command! Va'nav out!"

The man gave an unseen nod. "For Mandalore!"

From there, he began orchestrating his part of the battle. "Concentrate fire on the nearest Gladiuses, taking them on one at a time. Mind the point-defense guns, and try to take them out from range. A few well places missles will get rid of one quite easily, especially if you aim right below and above the gravity generators."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 03, 2007 2:42 pm

"Beta squadron, move to fire under and above the gravity wells. Keta squadron, cover them and hit the anti-fighter turrets on the first target."
Ree's squadron, Zu, engaged the fighter. They began to break into the waves, with immense power and speed. He caught out the corner of his eyes, Mando'ade and enemy fighter smashing into each other, exploding into flames. Ree managed to break through, and pull hard of the controls. and with surprising ease, the fighter pulled off a 180 turn. After the shock of the fighter abilities, he began to fire of the targets coming on screen.
The Falken moved forward, taking multiple blast into the front shielding plates. Torpedoes began to fire out from the sides, seeking out the weak spots on the second closest Gladiuse.
