Meta- is a prefix. It means, colloquially, the meaning of 'beyond' or 'above' and often connotates a studiary level above the word it is prefixed to. Metaphysics. Metatheory.
-Vore is a suffix, relating to feeding. Carnivore. Herbivore.
I am of the opinion that you have misheard the term metaphor.

I recall everyone thinking I was overreacting when I told you all the Heart of Order was gone and telling me that because nothing happened, everything would be fine.
You are all fortunate I do not listen to the naysayers of my deductions. I am preparing for all contingencies the future may bring. It simply may be helpful if you kumquats with high-tech armor or rings capable of recording everything around you would USE them when something potentially of interest to maintaining the fabric of reality happens near you.
