That makes it sound so much fancier than just going to go grab a bite to eat, Lone. xD

I'd say about the same for those really fancy restaurants, you know the ones. Really expensive dishes, little quantity of actual food. D=

First of all, D'< Caviar is fish eggs. That ain't fancy, that's lazy and dull. >> "Let's get some eggs and stick them on a plate! 8D" "But, we do that for brea- wtf is that? D<" "...Fish eggs. ;D" "....Ooooh, clever! >;D"
And, :'o expensive restaurants serve by actual portions of the foods they makes. >:'o We Americans are just spoiled by the quantity over quality rule most of our 'restaurants' go by. 9w9
Or that's what wannabe chef keeps rambling to me about. 8D

@Caviar: Yes, it's fish egg, but not any kind of fish. It's specially the sturgeon's fish egg. It's not lazy or aything. Some part of the world, the "fancy" delicacy are honey and figs, which you can buy at any supermarket for 3$. It really depends on a bunch of cultural stuff as to what makes something a delicacy.
@Fancy Restaurant with small portions: While it's true that your american restaurants have ginormous portion with low quality, the fine cuisine ones ARE small even for a "normal" size portion, but that's because those restaurants don't aim to "feed" you, (not their to stop you from being hungry) but are there to make you TASTE the stuff. You go there to taste the flavour of the food they serve you, not because you are hungry.

<.< It's still just plain fish eggs, whether it's a special type or not. Bird Nest Soup is from a specific bird, but at least they take the time to cook it and such. o-o It can still be 'fancy', I suppose, but it's still just a lazy dish in my eyes.
Fancy would be pretty~ <'3 And at least have some work by the cook themselves done with it. D< Fine cooking is an art by chefs, not by the guys paid to go out and collect the junk!
@Fancy Restaurants: Oh, right; I see. :'O

You think fish eggs are bad, Serend? Here, horumonyaki is really popular. It's not really a delicacy, but for some reason, everyone has decided that eating pig and cow offal is something to brag about. Dx It's AWFUL.
Hello, guys! ='D I'm on all day again! But, my new roommate is moving in, so I may disappear a few times to help her carry boxes~

@Usagi&Loli: Hello there! =D
@Caviar: But... the thing is, it's not just raw eggs? They are prepped and everything AND it's not a dish by itself? It's used IN dishes. It's a garnish and/or spread. It's like the cherry on top of a sundae. It's better with a cherry on top even if you dont like cherries!
@Offal: Offal are pretty popular everywhere if you ask me o-o. Especially heart and livers. I find it gross, but eh, that's how it is o-o.
@Roomate: TELL HER I LOVE HER D< Just because she's from norway <<.

Hello, Lone! =D
I think it's the poor trying to make themselves feel better. Dx They're stuck with the parts of the animal no one wants to eat, so they say it's a delicacy. >____>
