As her wings faded away, Nyl let out her breath and opened her hands again so she could grab the edge of the fountain to hold herself up. She spoke in a breathless whisper, obviously fighting off pain.
"Why? So you would worry? I think the rest of the dojo has more than enough to worry about...without needing to concern itself with me." She looked over her shoulder at Reeve. "I solve problems. I don't have them."

I don't have them." -Reeve, instinctively and a little impulsively, hugs her- You sound like me protecting Sarya. You said it yourself, we're like family. No one expects you to be Nyl Almighty all the time... -A wave of guilt overtakes the boy from the sea... I mean, um...Reeve, and he finds himself whispering- I'm so sorry...

Nyl flinched at his hug, mostly because the contact surprised her. It probably always would--not even Reeve was going to hear the whole story so easily.

She took another deep breath and let go of the fountain, standing shakily and looking at the fingernail-shaped cuts on her palms. "After what they...after what happened...most of my power is gone, too, though it's coming back, in bits and pieces."
She gave him a small smile. "Never be sorry you asked me for anything. I like to help people, or else I wouldn't do it."

The couch however is becoming un... un... unreasonable I suppose would be the word.
And when I am lonely I can't sleep....
