The room was spinning, colors were dull, and everything seemed out of wack. Well, at least it all did to Alcaeus. Noshima was close to breaking her hard, exterior attitude just to laugh her a** off at the kid. She crossed her arms and threw a book on top of his head. Alcaeus jumped to his feet, rigid with anticipation for another kick, punch, or throw. This time, nothing came. He relaxed a little, just enough for Noshima to yell, "Again, brat!" Alcaeus sighed in his mind and set himself firmly on the ground. The dizziness subsided and he began to feel better. He allowed his chakra to flow freely for a second before focusing it deep inside him. Alcaeus formed the seal and a clone stood next to him. It couldn't move though. He just needed to get their motor skills working to get it right for once. This time, a desk nailed him square in the back and sent him sprawling into several others, creating a pile of desks on top of him. (2/3)(175 words)

Noshima, just for kicks, stood up and wailed the desk she was sitting on at the pile Alcaeus was buried under. The pile just shifted about five feet and showed the fallen Alcaeus underneath them. He was only half-conscious, and the world around him seemed blurred. Suddenly, he was slapped, hard, and he immediately went to a sitting position. Noshima yawned and motioned for him to get up, saying, "Do it one last time. I may give you a break after this..." Alcaeus was wide awake now. He jumped to his feet and immediately started building up his chakra. After this, he could finally take a break and heal these wounds of his, which weren't even form the training! Alcaeus brought his anger up and burst his chakra out as he formed the seal. Next to him stood a perfect clone that could move, talk, and everything. He smiled before being hit across the head with a wooden kunai. Noshima flicked out four into one of her hands and smirked, "No breaks, I lied. Next, Kawarimi no Jutsu." Alcaeus laid back against the wall, tired. Suddenly, a real kunai lodged itself right next to his head. He knew that was a warning shot and stood up straight. Alcaeus knew Noshima wasn't going to wait, so he focused his chakra right away. Noshima was flicking a wooden kunai between her fingers as she waited. She had little patience normally, but she knew that he'd take a while to build up his chakra. Alcaeus smirked without Noshima noticing. He thought he was going to ace this jutsu like it was nothing. How wrong he was. Noshima flung a kunai straight at his head and connected. The jutsu hadn't even worked! Alcaeus stumbled for a few seconds as Noshima shook her head in despair. (1/4)(123 words)

It was tiring to do any type of training with this crazy woman teacher. Alcaeus was going to be at his limit fairly quickly. however, if he could just get past the jutsu training, he'd be able to show this woman how physically capable he was. Alcaeus stood up defiantly and built his chakra up fairly quickly. Noshima caught this and immediately threw a wooden kunai right at his chest. In a puff of smoke, the kunai bounced off something solid. Alcaeus fell to the ground, clutching his right leg. Noshima sighed as Alcaeus rolled around on the floor of the classroom. He was a Nara, right? Shouldn't he be able to get these jutsu a bit faster than normal? Then again, people don't always follow their clan stereotypes. (2/4)(129 words)

Noshima strolled over to Alcaeus and forcefully grabbed his collar to drag him to his feet. She brushed his shoulder off and poked him in the chest, saying, "Do it right for once brat. I may let you go do something else besides jutsu after this...maybe." Alcaeus sighed in his head and loosened himself up by rolling his shoulders and stretching himself out. Noshima sighed and walked back against the far wall, pulling out two wooden kunai this time, to show she was serious. If Alcaeus was hit with two of them, he'd most likely be unconscious. Then Noshima would be like a wolf with her prey right in front of her. Noshima brought her arm back and then flung the kunai from her hands in an instant. Alcaeus built his chakra up quickly and burst it out as he disappeared. In his place, the two kunai hit a chair, almost splintering it. Alcaeus appeared in the back of the room, muttering, "I think she's trying to kill me..." (3/4)(169 words)

Noshima whipped around at Alcaeus and had a devilish grin on her face. He had a chill sent up his spine as he saw this new Noshima. She had four kunai in each hand, real ones! Alcaeus took a step back, terrified! Noshima took one step forward, an impish chuckli8ng coming from her lips. Alcaeus smiled back and laughed nervously, saying, "I thought I was learning. We don't need an extreme like this, right? Please tell me I'm right...I'm not, am I?" Noshima laughed maniacally and brought all eight kunai back, ready to throw as she shook her head. Alcaeus bit his lip and started building up chakra. Noshima saw the perfect time and flung the kunai at Alcaeus. Just as they were about to hit, Alcaeus disappeared and the teacher's large, wooden desk appeared where he was. The kunai went straight through the desk and plunged into the wall behind it. Alcaeus sighed, relieved as he thought, "If those had hit...holy god...!" (4/4)(163 words)(584 total)(Kawarimi learned)

As soon as Alcaeus thought it was safe, Noshima appeared behind him silently, kunai and shuriken ready. She smiled impishly again and said, "Hey, brat..." Alcaeus froze and slowly turned to look behind him before screaming at the top of his lungs. She started throwing kunai and shuriken right at him until she had chased him out a window. Noshima then pointed to a nearby tree that was three times the size of the Academy's roof. She tossed a kunai into his hands and smirked, yelling, "Climb brat! Climb before I start forcing you to climb!" With that note, she unsheathed a ton of shuriken and kunai into her hands. Alcaeus yelled and started focusing chakra into his feet before starting to run up the tree. He slipped about five steps up and fell onto his back, dizzy. Noshima wasn't pleased and partially grazed his head with a shuriken. (1/6)(149 words)

Alcaeus stopped breathing and turned to look over his shoulder. Noshima was taping her foot, several kunai and shuriken ready in case he didn't get up. Alcaeus got the clue and jumped to his feet. Noshima actually had some useful advice this time, "Balance your chakra. If you use too much of one kind you'll slip, just like before. Focus it carefully, and imagine a circle split perfectly in two halves. Understand, brat?" Alcaeus was relieved for once that she wasn't just throwing sharp objects at him or harming him. He put his hands into a seal and stood motionless for a few seconds, balancing his chakra in his feet. Alcaeus opened his eyes and started running up the tree, actually getting about eight or nine steps up, until falling on his back again. (2/6)(134 words)

Noshima brought her arm back again. This time, it was a fuuma shuriken, large and sharp. Alcaeus started panicking. Where the hell was she getting all these weapons from?! She might as well bring out a catapult or something next!Alcaeus was up and focusing his chakra the second he saw her with a weapon in her hands. Just as the fuuma shuriken left her hand, Alcaeus got his first step up the tree. He made it all the way up to twelve steps this time, just as the fuuma shuriken smashed right below his ankle into the tree. As Alcaeus fell back down, he thanked god that she wasn't really trying to hit him. If she wanted him to die, she'd have done it by now...unless this was just toying with him. Alcaeus sighed and went face first into the ground. (3/6)(141 words)

Noshima sighed and sat cross-legged on the ground, waiting for Alcaeus to regain consciousness. He wasn't bad so far, but she still had a long way to go. Most of the other kids that came to the academy learned the bare minimum and then left, unprepared. She didn't want this kid to do that. Hell, she didn't want any of her students to do that. Alcaeus finally opened his eyes and sat up, dizzy. He was hating this devil woman more and more by the second. If it wasn't a sharp weapon almost killing him, it was something else. He got to a standing position and looked back at the tree. He was going to finish this quickly. Alcaeus focused his chakra and sprinted up the tree, hitting about seventeen steps up it before falling again. The slashes from his kunai were getting higher and higher, and that last one was a big improvement. (4/6)(154 words)

Noshima smirked and leaned back against a nearby tree. She didn't need to push this kid anymore to make him enthusiastic. He was learning by himself at this point that he's going to have to push himself in order to become a capable shinobi. To become exceptional though, he would have to find his own way. then, he'd be able to surpass everyone's expectations. Alcaeus looked back briefly, only for a second. Noshima actually wasn't doing anything to him. Was he actually doing something right for once? Maybe she decided to just leave him alone? He shook his head and focused his chakra. It didn't matter at this point. His training would come first, questions come later. Alcaeus sprinted up the tree again. He didn't count the steps, but he knew he was about 3/4 the way up it. He was almost there, just one more time. (5/6)(147 words)

Noshima smirked and closed her eyes. He was almost at his limit. Once more, at best, and he'd be out for quite a long time. She would have to watch him during that time and make sure nothing happened during this training. Then again, she doubted anything did happen. This wasn't as strenuous as some other days she's done training. Alcaeus stood up wearily and was breathing heavily. He was going to finish this no matter what the consequences on his body were. This new teacher had put him on the edge and annoyed him so much. He brought the kunai up and started to focus his chakra. He wasn't stopping, and he wasn't giving up. Alcaeus dashed forward and went straight up the tree, until he was on one of the top branches, sitting and laughing. Well, until he fell and was caught by Noshima. She chuckled, since he couldn't hear her, and set him against the tree. He was doing well. (6/6)(163 words)(888 total)

Honehime walked slowly up to the entrance to the Academy. It was a large structure, she could easily sense the sheer number of lives it had touched. In it's own way, it was as much alive as any ninja inside of it. All of the ambient feelings that had been shed by those inside had bled into it, staining it like virgin blood stained white silk sheets. She stood still a moment, as a slight gust of wind ruffled through her robin's egg blue hair, her amber-gold eyes staring with a deep empathy that seemed wise beyond her relatively few years. There was a depth to her eyes, something that not everyone could gain, something that only came with the genesis of much pain and knowledge, something she had received both of in abundance. Her clothes were simple, similar to that worn by the shrine maidens which served, obviously, in shrines the land over. A white top and red hakama bottom, accessorized only by simple white socks and wooden sandals. She didn't look anything like a prospective ninja, she looked more at home waving a haraigushi in front of a large bonfire to try to receive visions of the future. Which, to be honest, she had done. Those visions were fleeting, flickering like the flames themselves. Not like the visions she'd seen through her own ability, she couldn't forget those images, even if she tried. They were what guided her path, setting her destiny up before her. She could try fighting it, but she knew the end result would be the same. It was always the same. So she'd come to terms with it, accepted it, made it a part of her. And that path, that guiding light, had led her here. To the Shinobi Academy, to the path of the ninja, the path of shadows. She knew the reason why she was to come here and learn the ways of the ninja, but she did not understand. That was far beyond her, or anyone's understanding. That was the knowledge held in a drop of water, the wisdom written in a beam of sunlight. That was the Truth, and that was what she sought. Even while she stepped to the rhythm it told her, she strained against it inside, searching for the small fragments of knowledge each action would unearth. Eventually the entire picture would be laid bare, and only then would she understand why. She finally stepped forward again, and continued towards the doors of the Academy. She already knew a vague outline of what would happen while she was here, but no specific details. Something that those without the gift to see the future never understood. One's destiny was set in stone, but one's fate often led to a different path. And when different people met, their fates would intertwine, leading to a general muddying of the waters, making any true predicting woefully inaccurate. Even so, there were things that would happen regardless, these were the manifestations of destiny rather than fate. She opened the doors and slowly walked inside, letting the general feel of the building wash over her, commune with her. There was no sound save the measured tapping of her sandals on the floor, but the silence itself spoke volumes to her. Even though she'd never been inside of the building before, she already knew precisely where to go. She turned down a hallway seemingly at random, ascended and descended stairs equally sporadically, and in the end stood just outside of a classroom. Faint sounds from within made it obvious there was currently a class in session. She finally opened her eyes, revealing that she'd walked the entire path with her eyes closed, yet had never taken a wrong turn or false start. She waited a long moment. until finally reaching out to open the door. Just a half a foot away from the door, the instructor stood in mid-stride, their hand already reaching out to open the door. Their eyes widened, but they adjusted quickly enough, stepping aside to ler her walk in. She moved slowly but confidently until she was standing in front of the class, a few feet away from the instructor's podium. They took their place and introduced her, writing her name on the board behind them. She bowed deeply to the class, quietly introducing herself, then going to sit down when the instructor gave her a seating assignment. She did so, seating herself neatly before looking around. She had one of the seats closer to the windows, there was one person sitting next to her. A young girl, she looked no more than twelve, and wore very elaborate clothes, all black and frilled and lacey. As well, she had a heavy looking suitcase beside her, it rested against her leg, and Honehime could feel a very strong affectionate link between the girl and the contents of the case. She introduced herself again, even more quietly, and nodded in recognition when the other girl did the same. Then she turned back to the instructor, because they were already getting back into the swing of things, continuing on with the lesson. She'd been late, but it didn't seem to be a problem, she was still following what the teacher told her, they explained it very well. Undoubtedly a skill they exercized regularly, considering their job. Teaching young ninja year after year, of course. (900 words)

A cool wind blew through the trees, causing the slight sound of branches rustling to emanate from the forest which lay ever-present beyond the Academy. Lieselotte sat in her chair, looking past the empty seat beside her to stare out the window. This entire job seemed like such a bother, but the money was good. She'd been hired to infiltrate the Academy, learn as much as she could about the various instructors in the time it took her to complete the curriculum. She knew there would be another job after that, and another and another, but that was just the way things went. With all of the bridges she'd burned, there were only so many ways to make a living. And using her strengths to do so was only a natural choice, was it not? Her hand drifted down to rest against the handle of her suitcase. Many might think it odd that she'd carry a suitcase around with her everywhere that she went, like she was forever on the move. For one, she actually was forever on the move, she never stayed in one place for long, up until now. But it wasn't clothing and essentials she kept in her suitcase. No, those she just bought new every time she went to a new locale, and discarded the old items when they were no longer useful. No, her suitcase held something much, much more important to her. Her sister. Or rather, the newest incarnation of her sister. It had happened several years ago, but she remembered it like it was yesterday. Well, she remembered parts of it like they'd happened yesterday. The rest was all a blur, she didn't know very much about what happened after all. All she knew was that her parents were dead, and that her sister had been dead. Now, her sister resided in her puppet, and was alive again, in a sense. As alive as a spirit held within an unfinished puppet could be, anyways. Yes, Elfriede's body was unfinished, it had no legs. But Lieselotte had never made legs for it, and never would. she didn't know why, but she knew that this was how Elfriede should be, how she needed to be. And she'd never complained to her, either. She heard the faint clatter of moving doll parts within her suitcase and affectionately brushed her hand along the suitcase's exterior. Looking back to the front of the room, she could see that the instructor was getting ready to begin lessons. Even so, he seemed to be looking at the clock an awful lot. Perhaps he had a hot date or something after classes were done? It didn't matter to her, it didn't change her job at all. Classes began, she took notes, both on the lessons and the instructor. Then again, perhaps the teacher's hot date did affect her, that could be important information to someone. She jotted a note down in her elegant handwriting, reminding herself to follow the instructor after classes were done for the day, see what they were so impatient about. Just then the instructor eyed the clock one last time, mumbled to themself for a second, and then went to the room's door, as if they were leaving. Along the way they spoke out, mentioning that there was going to be a new arrival to class any moment now, they were just going to go look for them. Some of the students began talking amongst themselves at this, wondering who the new student might be. If it was a boy or a girl. Why they would enroll late into the Academy, if they came from a distinguished clan, other mildly useful information, but nothing she felt the need to write down. Just before the teacher opened the door, it opened by itself. No, someone opened it from the other side. An unusual coincidence, but nothing that out of the ordinary. Lieselotte looked at the door, at the young girl who stepped through it. She was clothed like one of the shrine maidens in the local area, that hardly seemed fitting attire for a prospective ninja. Then again, neither was her own elegant garb. Then again, she had no real intentions of ever becoming a ninja, or of fighting in those brutal, savage fights that seemed to break out whenever two ninja happened to meet. No, she had her own standards, and that was not anywhere near them. She was, first and foremost, an assassin. Much like what a ninja was supposed to be, she killed from the shadows and left no trail. Not like these novices, wearing bright orange and learning flashy techniques. Those weren't true ninja. She returned her gaze to the young woman at the front of the class, listening as she introduced herself. So formal, she hardly seemed any more suited to the role of savage ninja than she herself did. Interesting. Just then, the new student was instructed to take a seat. A moment later, Lieselotte found herself with a much closer viewpoint of the new student, she was sitting right next to her. When she introduced herself again, Lieselotte did the same, both of them speaking in a quiet voice, to not get the teacher's attention. With that out of the way, the class soon returned to it's normal schedule, as the instructor resumed the lesson. A simple enough lesson, disappointingly enough. (900 words)

"...Why am I here?"
Despite the seemingly serious nature of the question, the answer was evident enough to the speaker as the oddly dressed kunoichi- to- be entered the large, dome of a building, her lazy gaze looking over every detail of the building. It wasn’t really a shabby place… especially when compared to Tasogaregakure no Sato or rather, the Hidden Twilight Village. Sometimes it just got so formal addressing the bloody place by its Japanese name. Still, why did it get such a seemingly morbid name? Pausing for several moments, Sakazuki shook her head. In fact, when the denizens of the gray, gothic village were taken into account ‘Twilight’ seemed like quite a just title for the morbid community she supposed. In fact, she was beginning to look forward to returning home… Especially since she still had a potion she was waiting on back home… Which reminded her:
Did I turn off the fire? For the potion to come out nicely the temperature must begin it’s descent after arriving at boiling point.
Thinking back on this thought, the Circe remained standing in the hallway, slightly dazed as she stared up at the ceiling in an almost stupid fashion. In fact, she was only brought back to attention as someone, a rushing student to be precise, rushing along to his next class dashed past her, consequently bumping into her gourd along the way, the force of the blow causing Sakazuki to fall forward against the nearest door before she practically rammed it open, finding herself in front of a full class, row upon row of students peering down at her with curious gazes and some mixed reactions before muttering inaudible words to their neighbors. Instantly, Saka frowned, her brow eventually raising as well. What exactly were those troublesome, irritating, mortal mayflies talking about? Was it her random appearance? Her attire? Her gourd? No… Not the gourd, it didn’t seem too suspicious did it? Briefly, the witch looked over her shoulder at the cork- sealed container, letting out a sigh of relief. It couldn’t be the gourd, she declared mentally, though honestly wasn’t sure of a precise answer no matter how she sliced it. So it had to either be her attire or her entrance.
Sakazuki had to confess, at this point, both seemed like possible answers, especially once the witch had overlooked herself, taking mental note of her clothes before looking up upon hearing a sharp “Ahem!” from the teacher, followed by a “Take your seat, if you will… Don’t forget to introduce yourself as well” The teacher, whoever the hell he was, evidently didn’t seem very thrilled by the student’s appearance, even after she had announced her name dully to the class, but Saka wasn’t about to make a big deal about it as she approached the row of desks, about to step in but she paused as she felt a dull thump behind her.
“Idiot. Your gourd won’t fit!” She heard one student mutter behind her as the seemingly younger girl sighed then turned to set the bottle- like container down before taking her seat down beside two classmates, one of the few places where there was actually an open seat. While of course, Sakazuki wasn’t aware whether or not she was on the class roster or not, seeing as the teacher had told her to sit, combined with the fact that she still desired to learn, the Circe thus remained in place as she closed her eyes then let out a deep breath. Over time however, her eyes began to wander as boredom began to set in, roaming high and low before they eventually settled on something that brought forth particularly curious thoughts: a briefcase.
