lol Ok sorry for this Kayako...
Well I was looking up the meaning of kanashia... I randomly thought to myself, Hey what could some of the other peoples names mean? if anything at all and well I dug up this About Kayako....
Kayako Saeki is a fictional character from the Ju-on series of Japanese-horror movies. She is played by actress Takako Fuji.
She was created by director Takashi Shimizu and can be considered somehow the main character in the series. She represents a popular villain in Japanese culture, the vengeful ghost (onryō). Typically with her long dark hair covering her face, weird movements and a haunting cackling sound from her mouth, she first appeared in Shimizu's short movie Katasumi and spends the whole Ju-On series haunting a house in Nerima, Japan. She is one of the fulfillers of the ju-on curse, which states that when someone dies amidst rage and intense wrath, those feelings remain at the death site and kill whoever it touches.
She was seen more recently in The Grudge 2 and will return in Ju-on: The Grudge 3 and The Grudge 3, the first to be released sometime in 2007 (or even 200 cool and the last in 2008. She can be considered now an icon of horror movies, having appeared in 6 films (with 2 more to be released) and 1 short.

Back when I first started to use it as a name for myself, Kayako Saeki was like the most awesome person in existance! Lots of my friends called me nuts when i said I sided with her in the movies....Of course most of them didn't even like the movies.
Fitting for a vengeful psycho, is it not? twisted

Hehe, YUP! The planets align, my star-struck team of numbnuts! xd
When I had to rename my chari (read my journal entry as to why), the first thing I thought was 'Kayako'.
Pretty much my thought was: "Hey, she's a psychotic and vengeful demon-girl just like me....so why not name her after the most AWESOME psychotic vengeful demon-girl of all time??"
Remember the whole thing about my twisted logic? There be a perfect example! xd

Wow. That's interesting. razz I've never put that much thought into my characters names. I just went with what I like the most. The only time I ever really did go with the meaning of a name was for this dragon I made up in another RP and I just happened to name him something that happened to go with him. Pretty weird, actually. razz Anyways...
I only named Rain her crazy hippy name because I really wanted to give her a hippy name. I got her last name from Frank Zappa because his daughter has a hippy name; Moonunit. razz

sorry Rekka... and the name is not basied on any country it's a form of elvish.. that is all I will say. I normaly tell people this but they still never find it.
BTW finding a GOOD and accurate elivsh translator is Fracken hard! I can speak some forms of elvish to so heehee
