((OOC: For all practical purposes, no, Zephyr did not get beaten up by those guys. xDD Rather, you shall see how he escaped...))

Hey guys, how’s it going?” A kid’s voice came from the opposite rooftop and sure enough, there sat a waving small boy. It was Zephyr...except he looked a little beaten up: one black eye, a few missing teeth, a bleeding nose...and the Nara was nowhere to be seen. “Ah! Yokou-hime, from your astounded look of surprise I shall assume you are wondering what happened to your teammate?” The kid swallowed proudly and grinned, further displaying the spaces between his teeth. “I decided he needs to...eh...show the skills he learned in the interval I was gone...! Haha! (Translation: He ditched Shika.)” With that said, Zephyr jumped, landing lightly on the same rooftop. He stared for a long moment at Marcus. “Flat as a billboard.” He verified after a long moment. “How strange. I was pretty sure the Tsuchikage was a lady...?

Ame nodded and lowered her head on Zanza's shoulder. Tonight was a nice night... "I live where all the other refugees do..."

Houka wander aimlessly in the village. He had wondered in the mountain for a bit and now he was tired and wanted to come back home. He was still a little shocked about finding the bound between his two teamates.

*Looks like things won't be the same anymore...I wonder what sensei is doing right now. I haven't seen him for a while.*

His though where interrupted when he looked in front of him. It was Zanza...and it seems he was carrying Ame on his shoulder's.

*Here they are...should I avoid them or should I talk to them? Hmmm...*

A man was near them...Houka didn't know who he was but he looks curious about Houka's friends. But Houka decided to wait behing his friend, trying to listen to the conversation.

Marcus looked and pointed a bit to the 'kid'. "Ummm dis your friend? He look pretty good to me." The fedora came back down to cover one of his eyes. He ran a finger along the brim of it and grinned at the flat remark. "Heh. Cute kid. My cousine would have probably killed ya 3 times over for dat and den swore she never was vain. Like I told des mugs. I'm da new Tsuchikage. My cousine...well...she took an early retirement against her will if you catch my drift."

He was satsified with that remark...for the time being. He then looked over to the couple and sighed as he tilted his hat up, 'Sad thing to see such a sweety already off the market. Bah, whatever. Anyways, come on, outs with it. What'd you guys from Konoha want with me anyway? I assume it aint to get you two hitched. I ain't got the right music in my Ninpod for that right now."

Akane looked at the man and shrugged off the comment about Yokou. One thing bugged him, was she an object to him or something? Meh, he forgot that for now. "As you should be well aware Kohona has been taken over by a fire master. So I hear he has killed off the Kage before me and now stands in her place as the unoffiial Hokage. I was wondering when I go to take this village back if we have your support? And wondering also if you could give us time in this village to train. He had a long journey ahead for other villages to gain support, and we need strangth and knowledge for the battle ahead."

Akane seemed so serious, never was he this keen on staying on subject, maybe he was trying to avoid another comment about his love. "I do not know if I explained that well enough. But its the best way to put it. The fire master's army is big and I need an iorn fist to punch a hole through those ranks just so I can be the poison spear that takes down the fire master."

Crap...Kage...ish business right off the bat...what damn luck did he have today. The guy didn't even budge at the hits to his girl. Guess he didn't care or was more interested in getting business done. Marcus could respect that. He took a deep sigh and looked off to the side. His eyes began to scan the entire area that they could see from this vantage point. Man oh man what a position to be put in.

He straightened up and tilted the hat down over his eyes. The time for games was obviously over even though he so loved to play them. A clearing o the throat and he looked on. "Well its like this. Since I'm new, not that many folks will follow me. Hell, my cousin just barly got over her lazy streak. To be honest, if it weren't for our ancestor demanding we take command always, the Taida family would have been kicked out long ago. But...if you want a place to train and someone to go against, your free to that. Everything else...I'll have to see what I can do."

Navalie walked back into the village and spotted Marcus. Distant family that she was comfortable around. She felt sorry for him because of all the paperwork and what not he had to do. She had a partially saddened face on at the moment but Marcus made her feel better. She liked family and she liked friends. She wondered how Gig had done the few years that had passed by. Her smile was brightened by the thoughts of others and her depression had passed.

She walked up to Marcus and stood there. "I'm glad they didn't choose me for kage. You make a better one and you get to handle the paperwork. " She said quietly and looked at the other people.

The 'kid' smirked, tilting his head slightly to the side. In truth, since Zephyr poked around so much, he did catch rumors of a new Tsuchikage's ascension. A poof of smoke and the Sannin reverted to his normal appearance: uninjured and all. He didn't have to, but it was a show of Zephyr's acknowledgement to observe respect. However, he still looked awfully young for one his age (appears about 19) - but unlike Konoha's Senju Tsunade, he had not used any medical techniques to affect his appearance. Rather, this slowed aging was of fouler roots - entangled with Zephyr's dark history with the science and the labs.

A long moment passed. "Konoha, having sworn not to make a Master's village live, is being revitalized - rallied by Yokou's clan and what remains of mine. And in Kiri, there are whispers of the water princess's absence." Were his simple words, but the Sannin’s hazel eyes narrowed. "And though the Suna resistance gains strength upon each passing day, they dare not act. Why do you think this is so?" A quiet pause. "Hey, Mr. Tsuchikage? Say, in the worst case scenario...just how prepared is your village to fight one Master again, let alone...shall we say, all five?"

A long pause ensued. "Our villages had never been friends in the past. Iwa certainly would not care what happened to Konoha - which means one less potential foreign threat and competition for power - correct? But...there are not many independent villages left." Those hazel eyes became bitter, if somewhat angry at his next words. "As of now, the possibility of a Master-controlled or a Fifth Dawn shinobi world is not far from reality. Even the mountains cannot offer Iwa eternal protection, in consideration of those monsters' powers. Simply meaning..." The Sannin's voice trailed off. "It's us today. It may be you (your village) tomorrow."

Yokou inwardly groaned at Akane's straightforwardness. Diplomatic situations were not so simple, considering Konoha and Iwa's famous historical animosity. And her sensei, all in all, probably made the situation worse - his offense at tying up the sentry ANBU with his Mokouton the previous day was probably something left unforgotten.

"My apologies, Lord Tsuchikage. Though you may wonder why we have journeyed to Iwa... Our people mean no harm - all intentions are purely benign. But as the rumors go, I think our people would've not bothered reviving the village, unless they saw a possible chance to overturn the current circumstances." Her tone became strange as she continued. "I...heard...that children of our village are being trained again - the Elders of my clan having insisted rank-wise demotion, in exchange for teaching the next generation."

Her eyes softened. “However, a small price to pay for a chance. Our words are not meant to dishearten. But...if we do not take this chance of hope, it may not come again. A Master has stolen our homeland. And another is haunting yours. But if these rumors are indeed true...the Masters will seek to gather; destroy the last two remaining stands of hope and wholly crush the people they oppress. They would not let Iwa go so easily; as long as this village stands, resistance stands. As long as Iwa lives, hope lives -and so they will look here, first, before the village of Hidden Rain.

Zephyr piped in. “If anything, we can fight. Your village is still recovering yet a prospective war is fast looming. I trust my student to hold her ground, even against a monster opponent. Afterall, the Hyuuga clan was not called ‘monsters’ without reason. And my Nara student can make great use of the shadows offered by the mountains. Yokou nodded, before continuing. “Do not the great trees of Konoha stabilize the grounds of Fire Country? I believe...Sensei, too, with his Mokouton limit may help against the Earth Master’s techniques. And his style is of a famous, ancient kempo...one rivaling even the Earth Master's god-like strength.

Akane sat back and shrugged. "All I know is the fire master is mine, he killed my Sensai, even though revenge is not the greatest thing, I want it on this man." Akane then hushed up and nodded. "I am the new Hokage, Akane and I plan to make sure no more have to die in this masters wake." He then walked to the side of the house and looked off into the distance. "My sons, distroy his rain from the inside."

"Well, I am off to write a letter to a friend. Enjoy yourself." Navalie said as she walked to an uncrowded spot and sat down. She took out a pen and a piece of paper and began to write to her friend. The letter wrote:

"To Midori from Nav,

I hope you enjoyed my stay and as promised I am writing back to you. As I recently found out, you and I are siblings that were separated at birth. This was shocking to me and I am sure it is for you. In a way it makes sense. I look forward to meeting you again.

PS: the letter wrote of;

-Dear beloved wife and young baby Navalie. I can't wait to see you again and the four of us can have a fine old time once more. Midori can't seem to sleep much lately because of some night time ruckus. Please come here as soon as you can and bring Navalie. We can't keep the two separated forever because they might grow into enemies or such.

~Love, Your Husband- Hoshimi and little Midori Kane.- "

She then folded the letter up in three and put it in the mail bin. She hoped it would arrive to Midori soon enough so she wasn't left hanging.

The sound of little paws could be heard coming up behind them followed by a rather small yet louder thump. It was two different entities that had arrived. One, a small black cat known as Etna and the other, the assisstant to the old Tsuchikage, Roy. The cat walked up to them, she hadn't spoken in front of the Konoha visitors yet but this was no time to hold her tounge. They were talking about things that threatened this area...an area she had come to know and love...again. It was the boy's fault...she knew taht but that was for a different time.

"You idiots speak of standing strong. Putting up a front against a force you know nothing of. How cute..." She began to laugh a hard, mocking laugh. Coming to a stop, she stood in a point to glance from one person to another...she feared none of them nor respected any of them. The only Kage she respected was dead now. "You act as if you fear nothing...well...you boys do. At least the girl knows that there are things to lose. You go into this war knowing nothing of your enemy except what they have shown you. Do you really think any of them have gained this manor of power by showing all their cards in the first strike? Of course not. If you want a chance of survival, you'll need to work together." Her eyes went from Zephyr to Marcus. The other two seemed more than willing to do it if it meant survival but...the old man irked her to no ends.

Roy sighed as he moved up to them and looked down to the cat. His eyes moved up to the new Tsuchikage...he really hated this guy...well...no he didn't hate him directly. He hated the counsel for selecting him...it felt liek they gave up on Kinami to quickly but he could kill them for that later. As for now, the village needed him more. Of course it took his mom beating that knowledge into him. "Ok ok, enough outta you. But she's right. We were the only village to fight off out attacker. To be honest, that means 1 of 2 things. 1, they'll either come after us first and hardest while we're still weak to crush us utterly, not even taking any slaves. OR, they'll wait, gather up their strength so they can mow us over THEN crush us like ants. Either way, we get crushed."

Roy sighed and looked to Zephyr "Not to many people in the village really care about the Konoha/Iwagakure wars you know...cept the old men..." he looked him over and sighed again, "Nevermind. Look...This new guy doesn't have enough clout to gain troup support...specially after the llosses we already suffered. But theres one thing you can be sure of, the poeple of Iwagakure will go down fighting before we give up just cause we got a new idiot runnin the show. So you'll have Iwa's support. Just...let me know what you need."

He then thinks about it, "Nevermind, not you." He waves off Zephyr then points to Yokou....her breast anyway, "You do it. Or your boy toy, either one."

Hey, don’t look down on humanity so much. People learn from their mistakes. And who said anything about easily defeating the Masters once and for all here?” Zephyr raised an eyebrow as he glanced at the cat. “We’re not stupid to know that should all the Masters attack here, even with the last independent village’s help, it would certainly still bound to be...most troublesome. What matters now is keeping the village safe - its people both native and foreign...the next generation.” Zephyr groaned. “Meaning...even if it comes down to asking the Fifth Dawn...damn...” The older Sannin hitched a sharp sigh. “It’s too bad we can’t find the other renegade kages. Now, if we only had some sort of idea what happened to the old Kazekage and Mizukage...

But Yokou only smiled calmly at the cat, even though her eyes held certain sadness. “Loss makes people strong. And when challenged with possible loss, so then people show their true strength. Shall we say, those of Konoha doesn’t know when to give up? You may call it stubbornness, challenging what seems impossible, no matter at how great of a disadvantage: but this so thus our village’s ancient pride for standing against the most powerful bijuu known to man and time - all for what was dear.” A light pause.

It’s true people fear unknown forces. Yet, that is not wholly true to now, claiming we of this and the following generation learnt ‘absolutely nothing’.” Even if Yokou hadn’t known, her words were more true than even she had intended. For Giglamesh, though a Chuunin, had defended his village against a Master. The previous Tsuchikage, with the help and support of her people, had successfully fended off the Earth Master. A point proven that everything was not hopeless, even against unknown forces. Unity gives strength; and it was the lack of unity in the near past that had left Konoha, Suna, and Kiri vulnerable. A great shame indeed. Konoha’s Lady Cerbi was exceptional and the villages’ clans, many as their bloodlimits and skills varied, could’ve been poised to defeat the Fire Master.

Except the clans were too busy engaged in quarrels over power and by the time they were unified under Lady Cerbi’s effort...it was tragically too late.

Roy-han...can anyone be spared for a squad to Ame? Ame have their forces intact and a Sannin of theirs still reside within the village. And if it comes down to asking the Fifth Dawn...” Zephyr bit at his lower lip. “Well. Guess one can’t have everything. Rebuilding first before solidifying forces, hn? Hey, Mr. Kage, by the way, do you know your security at the gates are pretty bad? It’s only a shame we can’t even estimate the next possible invasion... Otherwise, assuming Kiri’s Mizukage had escaped to the continent and the Kazekage is alive...

As it now stood, Konoha and Iwa have a mutual understanding of the situation. Little did Zephyr know, asking Ame may not be as far-fetched as he had considered (originally traveling halfway across the continent)...taking in consideration Ame’s martial arts Master coincidentally WAS in town with his students...

Ame pointed in a direction to the left of him. "North... and I don't know how many of us are here... and yes, they do have housing for refugees... you just had to talk to the Kage,or her assistant... " With a small smile she leaned down and rested her head on his shoulder... She was surprisingly comfortable...

Zanza made sure to make the ride as gental as possibal. Not once did he shake or disturb her. He smothly turned the next corner heading north. He was silent and thought only to himself. Ame would more than likely fall asleep if he did so, and she deserved it. But deep in thought, Zanza was all awake and alert. Many questions rose in his mind. How much damage had the enemy done? How many people were forced out of their homes now? Zanza knew war was upon them, but it was just hitting him now that he needed to join the fight foreal, in order to restore the peace, and reclaim his home. He wouldn't have his home striped of him a second time. Not now that he could do something about it.
