                                                                After leaving the empty classroom in the Dungeons, Vikram needed to walk and get some time away from everyone. He started walking, letting his feet lead him where he needed to go, rather than trying to think about somewhere to go. His feet carried him out of the dungeons, then out of the school entirely. It didn't matter that it was the middle of winter and there was snow on the ground; he needed to wander and wander he did. Vikram was kicking himself in the a**... how could he believe that Csuri would actually care about him? Was he the thick one? Maybe, he had hoped, Csuri would come around and start to feel things for him too. They had met up several times, mostly in that abandoned classroom to be physical together, but Vikram had wanted more. He had hoped that she would too, but clearly, it was only the physical release for her and that's all he meant to her. He could scream. It was all so stressful! Why couldn't she show feeling once?! It was like she was a robot, but one that had a massively bitchy attitude. While he was thinking to himself, he'd been walking. Finally, he realized how far he'd walked around the Black Lake, finding himself nowhere near the castle anymore.

                                                                Vikram sank down onto the soft sand of the beach, looking out over the water at the sun setting behind the horizon. Jeez, he'd actually slapped her. Vikram looked down at his hands and sighed. Well, it wasn't like she actually cared about him, so why did it matter if he'd ruined everything by slapping her. He imagined she immediately ran to a Professor or Head to report him and he'd have detention when he got back. He didn't want to go back right now. Looking around, he waved his hand, drawing over some sticks and leaves nearby, watching as they arranged themselves into a campfire. Then he cast a fire charm, lighting his little campfire. After the sun had set, Vikram sat on the beach staring into the fire. With another heavy sigh, he pulled his legs up to his chest and held them, watching the fire burn. Gods above, he was so stupid. He loved someone who hated him. The fire continued to burn as Vikram watched it. He was tired. He'd cried and walked very far. Sitting there, staring into the fire, Vikram fell asleep. As the fire burned down to ashes, the cold of the winter night soaked into his bones, causing him to shiver awake. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes and looked up at the starry night sky. With a sigh, he pushed himself up and stalked back to the school.

                                                                {OoC: Vikram's next scene at Slytherin Table}

                                                            It was the morning after sorting and Clara laid sobbing on Charlotte’s lap. Charlotte had known the moment the sorting hat had called out Gryffindor that Clara was not going to be happy. She had had her heart so set on Hufflepuff and frankly, Charlotte herself didn’t quite understand the sorting, but she supposed that hat knew what it was doing. She wasn’t sure Clara agreed with the sentiment however. Charlotte had rarely seen her so upset and she wasn't entirely sure what she should do. She ran her fingers through Clara’s hair, hoping it would help her relax. It took several more minutes, but eventually there at least seemed breaks in between cries. Charlotte quietly managed, "Do you want to talk about it?"

                                                            Clara's teary hazel eyes looked up at Charlotte, but she still didn't say a word. "Are you scared that you're alone?" It seemed more than that, but it was a starting place. "Your new friend Roisin's your roommate, right? It can't be that scary. Amelia said the two of you really hit it off on the train and the other Gryffindor girls seemed really nice. Was anyone mean to you?" Clara shook her head.

                                                            "No, they're all nice," Clara mumbled. "I just..." her voice cracked.

                                                            "What?" Charlotte cooed

                                                            "I don't wanna be different." She put her head back into Charlotte's lap so the next words came out muffled. "I don't want to be like your dad."

                                                            Charlotte was glad Clara was looking away because a look of amused disbelief colored her face. "Levi? This is all about that prat? Clara you've never even met him!"

                                                            "It's not just about him," she insisted in a thin voice.

                                                            Charlotte took a deep breath. "You know, when mom got sorted into Hufflepuff she was upset she cried right there at the table," Charlotte started, "she was a muggle born who’d known almost nothing about Hogwarts, but some git she'd met at Diagon Alley convinced her Hufflepuff was the worst place to be. Look how that ended up! Don't let my biological father ruin your opinion of an entire house." In a strange way, it did make sense. The man rarely crossed Charlotte's mind, but Clara didn't really know too many people from Gryffindor so she supposed it wasn't insane for her to think of him first. "There are plenty of people in Gryffindor Mum never divorced."

                                                            Charlotte could feel a laugh from Clara echo between them. "You take your time. You feel what you need to feel. But I promise you, it will work out for the best." Clara looked up a grumbled a bit, but Charlotte could see a hint of a smile in her eyes. The issue might not be solved, but it was at least a step.
