Shade tried to find the happiest of the Kikyos. He figured he could try and talk to her about her feelings for him. He needed to know how Kikyo felt about him, and looking back telling her how he felt was probably a mistake.

The Kikyo carrying Yin was still wandering around with the dog, and Gloomy Kikyo sat where she had been near everyone else. The last one remaining for Shade to find, was the goofy Kikyo. She was sitting on a roof, sure that Yin couldn't get to her from the ground.
