Alex blinked and looked over at him with a frown. "Oh, no. I'm still trying to figure out where that Sanctum place is." she replied. That or she'd just gotten accustomed to such a "sense" anymore that it was not a noticable thing for her when she had her mind on other things. This was New York after all. Thugs, Robbers, frustrated businessmen stuck in traffic, drunks...

Lucas, momentarily distracted, looked to Alex. "The what place?" he asked, feeling like he needed clarification.

"Sanctum something or rather." Alex replied. "I didn't really catch the name of it. The inside is filled with all kinds of stuff we weren't allowed to touch because they were magic or something. I think...the guy that owns the place is called...Doctor Strange? Something like that. All I know is that a lot of us were in there because it was kind of like a meet place or something."

"Yeah, Zatanna mentioned he was gone. And if someone as powerful as him could disappear..." Lucas replied, and then he frowned. "Captain Cosmos said that there was a great evil approaching, right? And that giant might have been a part of it... If Dr. Strange isn't around, that'll be one less guy to help lead the forces of heroes..."

"What heroes are left..." she said wit a frown, crossing her arms. "Besides you guys and some of my...friends, I haven't seen anyone else out and about. From what I know, there's a whole list of heroes that disappeared with him."

I wouldn't know," Lucas admitted with a shrug. "I know of heroes mostly through the news, but I've not actually seen any from my universe in person."

"I haven't really seen a whole lot of others either. Mostly Batman and Flash...lot of robots. Then people from my world." she said with a sigh, looking around.

Alex smiled some and looked back at him, keeping her answer in a low conspirital whisper. She didn't want to say anything about Batman that might be overheard by others. Paragon she knew would be able to hear her. "Well, I don't know his whole history or anything. I'm more New York based, and he's Gotham based I think. But he's about my age. Has this completely awesome costume that allows him to fly. All black with a red bat symbol on it, wings that come out from under the arms, rocket boots, pointed ears on the mask. I got to try it on for a bit. It's really cool."

Lucas raised an eyebrow, and he couldn't deny that he had a bit of jealousy in his tone as he spoke: "So... what else does this guy have... that I don't?"
he muttered the last three words so softly, even Alex wouldn't have been able to hear him given all the background noise.

Alex caught the jealous undertone, and smiled gently. Mistaking it's meaning for fellow hero envy of some kind. After all, she tended to feel jealous of heroes with incredible powers or gadgets. "Well, his own hide-out. Huge, has tons of vehicles and computers and stuff." she replied, then looked away as she tried to think about anything else she could say about him. Well, anything that wasn't a physical description of Batman.
The dark hair she usually liked. Icy blue eyes with a surprising amount of intensity behind them. Slim but fit build. A hero with the little "bad-boy" aura she tended to revolve around. Actually, he was even rather cute as a child. Thinking about when he'd gotten caught in Warp's little spasm and was de-aged. Still the same intense blue eyes, but such a smaller frame. It was actually rather cute.
As she thought silently to herself, her cheeks began to turn a rosier shade of pink.

Feeling a bit put-off, and more than a bit threatened for a reason he couldn't place (though Alex's blushing did not help), Lucas growled a bit and shook his head. "I'm guessing he's really good-looking too..." he muttered, folding his arms and looking away. What about him? He was good-looking too, even before he had taken the Super Soldier Serum.
Ugh, Lucas, stop this... he said to himself. You don't even know the guy...

Alex looked back up at him, a little caught off guard by his remark. Then she got a good look at his expression, and the pheromones he was giving off weren't too hard to pick up on now that she was actually paying attention to him.
Was he....jealous? What did she say that made him jealous of Batman?
"Luke?" she asked quietly.

Lucas, now brought out of his jealousy-mode, looked to Alex quizzically. "'Luke'?" he asked, frowning slightly. "Nobody's ever called me that. Not saying I don't like it, it just sounds weird to me since.... well, like I said, people don't call me that."

Alex exchanged the look. He didn't seem to be stewing any longer, so she wasn't going to try and touch the subject again. Just stick with the current topic.
"Really?" she asked. "Luke seems like it would be a common nick-name for Lucas. But...I won't use it again if you don't want. I'm just kind of used to calling people by their nick names or shorter versions."
