Needless to say the blue, blubber bag wasn't going to be dodging that attack! "Leo!" it cried after being struck for the second time with an Electric attack. It stung like hell. Corey wasn't going to have this, "Use another Ice Beam! We'll take out the bird first!" With a half-roar that sounded incredibly awkward the blue seal Pokemon shot a quivering pale blue beam at Zypher.

"Rosey! Uh, use uh, Flamethrower!" Lily called out. The Pokemon turned around shooting her trainer a "whatthehell" look. "Lily, honey, Rose can't use that. She's a Grass type remember?" Lily cocked her head to the side, a confused look on her face, "Really? Oh okay then. How about Shadow Ball!" Now that was more like it! The Thorn Pokemon too aim at Cable, placed her two roses side by side, and shot off a shadowy black orb as if she were Officier Jenny shooting a gun. Pow!

Zypher, who was currently still sprawled on the ground thanks to the previous Ice Beam was greeted with another. "Ugh," Mitsu groaned, the Pidgeotto never listened. "C'mon Zypher. I know you're tougher than that. Go for that Roselia! Aerial Ace!"

Zypher picked up some speeak after pecking some of the ice off his wings, just enough so he could fly somewhat. He took off in the air before zooming down heading for the Roselia's small frame.

A quick visit to the PokeCenter for a boost of energy, and M.A.'s team was good to go. Now, time to head back to the beach condo, the girl figured, her long legs telling her she had walked quite enough, thank you. So, taking advantage of the relatively emty streets, she decided to ride Tora along with Diego; the Donphan didn't seem to mind at all, finding both of them fairly light.

Chances were that her family would be returning soon, it was coming close to noon. Ma always liked to have meals together when we were all home, the brunette thought nostalgically. At the same time, however, a part of her wanted to jet and not come back at all; coming back meant she'd have to say good-bye all over again, and good-byes weren't very fun.

A bit of wandering in Mauville, and M.A. could not decide for the life of her where the beach condos were. In fact, she couldn't even find the marketplace. When she asked people where the beach hotels were, they tended to give her an odd look before answering that there were no beach hotels here. Were people pulling her leg?! But no, more than one person responded that way... Leaving M.A. to feel very, very confused. Did no one know where the beach was? This was the beach town, for heaven's sake?

Diego drew about ten arrows pointing at a sign that clearly said "Mauville City," but M.A. didn't notice, having the strange luck of missing everything.

After a bit more walking, M.A. found herself in front of an imposing looking building. She read the small sign at the door, but not the huge one saying Mauville Gym over its roof. Because today, just today, M.A. was an overly cheery, air-headed dumbass, and Diego really couldn't do anything about it. Whatever, he was just along for the ride anyways; he was accompanying M.A. on her travels in hope that once they left for that new place the following day, they might find his master. Diego figured they were allies; he'd help if it was convenient or necessary. She didn't seem the type who'd force it upon him to fight, either, which was nice, the Smeargle thought with a big yawn.

"Wattson... The Cheerfully Electrifying Man?" M.A. read aloud. A elderly man at the door grinned at her. "Are you here to challenge Wattson today?"

"Oh, no, I'm just looking for directions. Do you know where the beach condos are? Or the marketplace?"

"... No..."

"Do you think Wattson might?"

"Well, he is a very prestigious --"

"Oh, great! Thanks old man," M.A. smiled winningly before entering the gym doors. Diego, riding on Tora, followed him, the only one out of the three to actually understand what M.A. was getting herself into.

"Are you Wattson?" M.A. asked, prodding the shoulder of a young Cowgirl.

"Of COURSE not, I'm not a man and I'm not fat!"

"Oh geez, sorry! But I was wondering, do you know where I might find the beach?"

"What the hell are you talking about? First you bumble in here asking if I'm Wattson, then you talk about the beach? We're no where close to the beach! Don't you know what city we're in?"

"Slateport...?"

"You're insane. Get out of here, you obviously have no intention of battling a Gym!"

"A Gym? Slateport has one? But honestly, I just need direct--"

"Oh, my, god," the cowgirl said, smacking her face. "We're in Mau-"

"It's okay if you don't know," M.A. said, trying to act conciliatory. Who knows why this girl is so angry? Better not provoke her. "Could be a nutcase," she said, not realizing that she said this part out loud. "I'll just go look for Wattson --"

"What did you call me?!" The girl was shooting bullets out of her eyes. Oh, wait, no, she had a REAL gun in her hands! It was actually one of those authentic-looking toys, but how would M.A. know. The brunette backed up, trying to get some space between herself and the mad girl, but when the Cowgirl started to chase after her, she naturally began to run, Tora at her side, both of the two wondering what the hell was going on. Goddamnit, they wouldn't be in this mess if M.A. just had a better sense of direction! Another guy joined the cowgirl in chase, and the two of them yelled something about battling first, but what the hell, the girl had a gun?

"Are you Wattson?" she asked another man. Apparently not, 'cause he joined in the chase on the cowgirl's side.

In the ensuing chase, M.A. and Tora were astonished as electronic barriers seemed to randomly pop up and disappear around them. They were too panicked to realize that they were setting it off themselves by pushing the buttons of the floor, but they were just intent on getting away and finding this Wattson guy. Man, they just wanted luuuuunch! Tora, being hazardous as usual, knocked over quite a few things: people, Pokemon, electronic barrier pillars. She was pretty indiscriminate, you know. Diego, meanwhile, sighed, leaning back on the heaving elephant. After yesterday's invasion, he figured this girl just /found/ herself trouble all the time, and there wasn't much to do about it; it did make life interesting, didn't it?

Finally, she found the back of the gym, with a robust man that she assumed MUST be Watson? Everyone else was either bowled over and on her tail. "Are you Wattson?" the girl panted, legs burning.

Man, she was hungry. And thirsty. And my, was her head pounding.

London slipped into the gym ahead of Giovanni, pouting slightly as he listened to him explain the conditions. Normally it would be no problem, but he couldn't read Giovanni's thoughts. He was actually going to have to use skill to win this. Without a word he crossed the floor to stand opposite the Rocket boss, remaining still for several moments while he debated. He had heard from other trainers that his opponent had some Ground-type Pokemon, but that was it. That was all he knew and it wasn't much to go off of. Hn...

Finally he reached into his coat and withdrew a Pokeball, hesitating for a moment before launching it out onto the floor and out of the light materialize a Haunter. London still had one small advantage in this battle, that being that he did not have to give verbal commands. Giovanni would have no idea was the boy's Pokemon were going to do, but that wasn't a guaranteed victory....damn.

Get ready, Haunter. I don't really know what we're up against. "...Hey. Why do my powers have no effect on you?"

She was fine with letting the pups wrestle and fight one another on their own for a bit, at least while she read. Her eyes traveled over the list of moves that Hans could learn, making a mental note of the ones she wanted to try, then switched the entry to Poochyena to do the same. "...Okay, stop. Stop!" The pups ceased their furious battle, or at least Hans did. Rolf was still intent on assaulting him which caused Kirsa to finally have to crouch down and physically separate them.

"You can play later! It's time to train now. Hans, go over there." The cadet remained crouched down, keeping a hand on the hyper Poochyena. Hans trotted away from them, stopping a little ways away. "Alright, good. Let's get started."

They're so preoccupied with Zephyr that they don't see me coming! he thought, a wide smile appearing on his face. "Finish off Sealeo, Cable!" he shouted, "Slam him with a Brick Break! That'll be enough! Kilik crossed his arms over his chest then suddenly dropped his arms to his sides. He couldn't do that anymore: it constricted his chest and hurt his ribs way too much.

Cable nodded and ran at the Ice-type, pulling his fist back. The plug's hand began to glow brightly and he brought it down like a chop right on the Sealeo's head! Victory was his!Corey gulped. He wasn't going to stand around and see what else was going to happen. He recalled his fainted Sealeo and stuck the ball to his belt. "C'moooon Honey, let's goooo," he said, grabbing Lily's hand and taking her away.

Elekid frowned. Now why on earth would people leave in the middle of a battle like that? He shrugged and looked up at Kilik. He won! He sure was getting much stronger. Then he looked over at Mitsu and gave her a slight thumbs up before falling face first into the dirt. Man he was tired. Kilik laughed a bit and recalled his plug. "Alright, let's get him to the Center to rest up. I think Zephyr could use it too," he turned down the street, limping towards the Pokemon Center, holding his hand out behind him for Mitsu to grab. "I need to make sure I don't fall," he said.

The sneer on his face widened. "Because, insolent fool, my mind is far too powerful for any ordinary Psychic to unlock. Think of it this way," he shrugged, "My mind is blocked off by a series of locks. In order to get in," he said, tapping his temple with his long finger, "One would carefully have to pick each lock. An impossible task, to be sure, as my will is much more powerful than a Psychic is able to comprehend. Even Sabrina, the world's most powerful seer, is unable to figure it out. Now what does that say about you?" Giovanni let out a loud laugh.

He released a Pokemon following the boy's Haunter. It was his Tyranitar. The not-so-jolly green giant loosed a loud roar, stomping his foot into the ground. "And like my mind, my Tyranitar is unaffected by Psychic-type attacks. I told you the Psychics were all rubbish!" He clenched his fist, "Now then! Tyranitar, attack with Crunch!" The Pokemon obliged, stomping towards the Haunter with his jaws wide open.

"Now what in the warld is goin' on out here?" Wattson said, putting his fists on his hips. He glared at the two that were chasing the poor girl, and they made a break for it. He looked down at M.A., having to push his beard down to look at her completely. "Goodness, lassie. Good thing you've got such long legs to run from people like that. You look like a magnet far trouble. Speaking of magnets," a Magneton floated down seemingly out of no where, a metal tray attached to his body.

"Ah, thank ya!" he laughed, taking it. At least, he would have. The man wrapped his fingers around the handles and tugged, but it wouldn't budge. He contorted his face and heaved, finally forcing the metal tray free from the Magneton's grip. "I shoulda learned tha last three hundert and eighty far times: Don't let Magneton bring me my food cause he never lets it go." He lifted the sandwich from the tray and took a bite, a bit of liquid dripping out of the bottom. "Haggis!" Wattson laughed heartily, his belly jiggling like jolly old Saint Nick.

"So, bonnie," he said, scarfing the sandwich down, "What is it I can do fer ya? Since you were looking far me, I suspect it's a Gym Battle you be wantin'?" Again, Wattson laughed, "I'd be glad to oblige ya, Lassie. Are ya sure this is what ya want, though?" He took a bottle out of his pocket and downed some water to wash the food down.

Zypher's attack connected square in the Roselia's body, knocking out the Pokemon instantly. Zypher himself wasn't feeling too hot though as he crash landed another time. Ice really wan't his thing.

"Good job!" Mitsu cheered helping the bird with the ice chunks. Zypher squwaked in approval, well somewhat. She hadn't totally screwed up this battle at the very least. He's give her a chance next time. . .maybe.

"But I wanted to use Eathquake first!" Lily cried as the duo ran off recalling thier Pokemon. She was dragged off by Corey, though she really, really did want to use Explosion. Oh wait, she meant Earthquake. Yeah, that was the one!

Mitsu recalled the Pidgeotto and Karri as well. Two battles in a row hadn't been too bad. And neither was taking the offenive. The thrill was nice, but it still felt a bit foreign to her. "To the Center it is," Mitsu said taking his hand. If it was to make sure he didn't fall, then why not? A few paces from thier makeshift battle field she spoke up, "So what were you going to say earlier?"

M.A. tried -- very, very hard -- not to stare at the sandwich that disappeared down Santa Claus' throat. No, no, he wasn't Santa Claus -- he was Wattson, thank god, right, M.A. thought. Oh, look at that perfectly chilled water -- no. Staring is rude -- rude -- rude -- what the hell, why was her head echoing and throbbing like that?

It was about then that Diego saw a dark blue medicine bottle sticking out of M.A.'s messenger bag. That'd odd. Her iron bottle was definitely white; te artist had a photogenic memory, and he hardly ever doubted it. Hence he also doubled as a map, but that use was for another day. Standing up on Tora's back, he was able to reach the bottle and pull it out, spelling it out in his head.

Vye - Coe -- Dinn? Definitely not iron, and definitely not M.A.'s. He had noted her taking some pills two or three times today, since her body needed to make up for the accumulated iron deficiency, but if that had been something else this whole time... Hm, Diego thought, poking the girl's shoulder and showing her the label.

"Oh, darn," she sighed, feeling a bit melancholy. That was her mum's Vicodin. No wonder she'd been feeling funny today. Well.

"Actually, I was looking for directions to the beach condos, that's all," she said raspily. Diego, reading the side effects label, painted her a glass of water. M.A. politely refused, despite her dry throat. Technically, it was a Smeargle's bodily fluid, and that didn't sit too well with her.

Tora, however, got excited at the sound of Gym Battle. She trumpeted -- what a nice surprise! M.A. didn't even tell her that she'd get to fight someone good today. The Donphan stepped forward onto the Gym floor, eager to go. How exhilarating!

Kilik blinked. "Huh?" he asked. He did recall about to say something, then he shrugged, "Oh. I don't remember, now. Sorry," he laughed weakly. Maybe being up and about wasn't too good of an idea right now. He really felt like he should sit down. As he limped, he kept his eyes on the ground. Jesus. They did a number on me, that's for sure. Mike, too. Though I wonder if he's holding up alright?

They turned the corner and made it to the Pokemon Center. The two went inside and he slowly, almost reluctantly, let go of her hand, placing the PokeBall on the table. "Here you go," he said, "Just heal him up and I know she wanted to heal up some Pokemon too," he pointed over to the couches and headed over there, sitting down very carefully. Once he did, he let out a sigh of relief. His legs throbbed, his chest throbbed, his head was pounding. Every muscle in his body was screaming. Kilik put his head back and closed his eyes. Being with Mitsu was really fun - they made a good team.

Wattson let out a low whistle at the artistic prowess of the Smeargle. "Don't mind if I do!" he laughed, taking the floating glass of water and downing it. He cringed and spit it back out. "Tastes like paint!" he groaned. The man looked over at M.A. "Well, the condos are still in Slateport. You're in Mauville, Bonnie. The pipes that be callin' ye are farther south." As he opened his mouth to explain further, he heard the Pokemon's trumpet.

"But it looks like one of yar Pokemon wants ta fight!" Wattson cheered, "And that's good enough far me! How about a two-on-two match. If ya win, you get a shiny new Gym Badge and a nifty-keen TM! It's a move that I taught to many a Pokemon in my day. In fact," he laughed, "I made it! It saved Lt. Sarge, between you and me. I was his CO back in the day. I remember diggin' through the trenches, strugglin' just to sarvive. Yeees, the days of old. I tell ya, Lassie, did you ever hear 'bout the War of...Oh, blast what was it?" he stroked his beard, "Ah! Well, regardless. Good war, I tell ya. Can't say that Lt. Sarge ever listened very well...but he's gotten bettar, that's for true."

"Enough with my memories," he laughed, placing a hand on his stomach, "I'm sure a lassie doesn't care about this old fodder's past. Let's just get this Gym match underway and you can go about your merrrry way to Slateport!" Wattson waved his hand, the serving Magneton floating into battle. "Ladies farst, of carse."

Mitsu laughed, "Oh well. No worries." The trip to the familiar red roofed building wasn't quite that long, but Kilik seemed pretty winded after the short events of that morning. Mitsu placed two Pokeballs onto the tray that Joy held out, Karri's and Zypher's. Hopefully her Pidgeotto would evolve soon and maybe even Ivy. It had been a really long time since any of her Pokemon had evolved.

"Geez, you don't look so good," Mitsu said tossing the boy a bottle of lemonade that she picked up from a quick trip to the cafeteria. Free was better than paying for it via the vending machines. She sat down next to him. Opening up a bottle of her own. "I wonder what kind of new Pokemon will be in Sinnoh," she said taking a sip. She stared off idly at a random Pokemon, something pink with green eyes. She wasn't really sure what it was. The Pokemon center doesn't seem to busy today. Probably because it's so far from Slateport.

You're running away from your fears! Your problems! A nagging yet familiar voice echoed in her head. "No I'm not," she mummbled, too low for anyone but herself to hear.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2009 11:55 pm

Kilik hummed to himself, then suddenly felt a bottle hit his stomach lightly. He winced and felt some pain run through his body, but he managed to make it unnoticeable. "Thanks," he said with a smile as he opened up the bottle. It was shocking how fast he managed to drink it all, but within the blink of an eye, he was already tossing the empty bottle in the trash via a basketball throw. He sank the bucket.

"I dunno," he said, "But I'm looking forward to whatever they have to offer. Sinnoh looked absolutely breathtaking in those slides, so actually being..." he yawned, "Being there will be much...much more fun." Kilik's entire body went limp as he fell asleep. Almost in slow motion, he tilted to the left, falling with his head in Mitsu's lap. One arm stuck out from under him, the other crossed over it. The pain going through his chest at the moment was so intense, but he was just too tired to do anything about it. He stretched out his legs and propped them up on the arm of the couch.

It was time for his afternoon nap.

Mitsu frowned slightly, wishing she hadn't missed the good part of the seminar. It was a shame, but she guessed it'd have to be a surprise to her. All of it. The girl didn't have the slightest idea of what the new region even looked like. "Fun. Sure," she said as she watched him nod off. And then his head fell into her lap.

Mitsu froze a little, she'd wanted to jump out of the way, as if a building were to explode like in those action movies. But she hadn't and now she was stuck. Well she'd never been in a situation like this before. . .

Oh wait. Right. She had. At the Cherry Blossom Fesitval. After she'd kissed Mike's cheek and fought the Rockets and fell alseep against the boy's shoulder on the couch in a Pokemon Center. Mitsu sighed. "Augh," she muttered throwing the godawful memories back into the recesses of her mind, "I'm stuck."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 22, 2009 12:27 am

Mitsu wanted to move, it was kind of awkward. Well, not really. Kilik did look pretty peaceful alseep. Well you know, despite the whole being beaten and hurt and stuff. "Well if you can't beat them. . .er, move them, join them," she said with a soft chuckle. "Good night Kilik." And with that she blew a kiss to his cheek before nodding off herself. Usually she wouldn't have fallen asleep so easily, but maybe she really was just that tired.

Or not. She found herself waking up not too long later, the center in the same state it was before. Wait a minute, why were there three pink things with green eyes? And why did one shrink and look more round? Oh god. She needed more rest.

After another untimed amount of time she awoke once more. The same thing as before, except those pink things were gone. "Phew," she sighed, "that nap was pretty nice." She closed her eyes, slightly forgetting that Kilik's head was resting in her lap as she brushed her fingers over his cheek.

Ohhhhhhhh. Mauville. Now that made more sense. M.A.'s mind finally made it through the fog and made it to the train station; the confusion's dispersion left her more clear-headed, but her head still hurt from the unnecessary Vicodin. She had /felt/ like she had been here before because well, she /had/ been here before. Oh, how embarrassing. This whole time she thought that cowgirl was insane, but au contraire! She'd have to apologize later.

M.A. listened to the Gym Leader's story respectfully, not having any idea who this Sarge guy was, but figuring he must be pretty impressive by the sound of him. He was a Lietenant and all, and she didn't know crap about war rankings, but that was somewhere up there, right? Under General or something? Or CO? The only CO she knew of was the one that stood for company, and carbon dioxide. Monoxide. Whatever.

"You've convinced me," she smiled at Wattson, rather liking the old man's feel; he reminded her of her ol' grandpa. But woah, her first Gym Battle! She hadn't been expecting this. Well, no better time than the present. How exciting. She was shaking a bit, but it was more from nervous anticipation than anything; might as well just do it, she was here already. Especially when Tora was rarin' to go like that... Trying to remove her would take nothing short of a bulldozer.

"Well, you heard the man! Tora, let's start it off with a Rollout!" The elephant roared, throwing herself onto the ground and rolling into a ball, already cracking the gym floor. The spiraling canon ball made its way towards the Magneton.

M.A. immediately felt a bit guilty. It seemed she left every place with it looking worse than it did when she first came in.

Ulani (and a forced, unenthusiastic Diego) created a cheering squad, complete with uniforms and banners, ra-ra-ing their teammate on. Tora could only grin wolfishly; she was gonna get it right this time, so help her!
