"It's not." Orient replies. "They just think it is." he laughs a little.

The lithe boy heads over to the bookshelf, and starts looking over the books there.

Orient collapses on his bead, head resting on the pillows and he takes the book he'd been reading and continues. It's about sea monsters. He wants to be well versed in them, in case they meet another.

Uriel pulls out a book that looks interesting. He looks at the first page a moment, then puts it back, deciding to save that for after he gets some more reading practice in. Eventually he finds one he thinks he can at least mostly read, but he doesn't know if he should go back to his bunk or what to read it.

Orient glances at the boy over the pages of his book. He moves over to let Uriel in. "You can stay here, in case you have trouble."

"Ok, thanks." He goes and sits on the edge of the bed. He feels a little uncomfortable, because he's not used to... getting to know his customers, but he decides it's worth it for the chance to improve his reading, which is something he'd always wanted to do.

Orient continues on in his book, and discovers that it's really crappy. And fake. Especially the part about the leviathan. The pictures seem accurate though, so at least he can identify the monsters that will attack his beloved ship.

When Uriel encounters a word he can't even pretend to decypher, he holds the book out so Orient can read the page,a nd points to the offending scribbles, "What's this say?"

"It says 'cremeated'." Orient replies. "It's when people are burned after they're dead and turned to ashes."

"Oh, ok. Thank you." Uriel takes the book back, rereading that paragraph, and examining the word, trying to figure out how it makes the sounds it makes, and such.

Instead of reading, Orient looks over at Uriel. He looks cute, concentrating hard on the words. Orient smiles, but pretends to keep reading.

Once he gets really engrossed, he starts kicking his feet a little unconciously as he reads. It was a good book... although, aside from the occasional weird word, it was easy enough that it wasn't really a challenge. It's probably not a big deal though, because Orient has lots of books, and he can spend some of the money he's going to be making on the ship on books next time they make port.

Orient shivers, because he's starting to get cold with the no shirt on thing. He leans over uriel, pressing his chest to the boy's and reaching for the shirt he'd thrown on the ground earlier.

Uriel blushes a bit and moves back so that orient doesn't have to touch him to do... whatever he's doing. He's not at all used to casual touching.

Orient pulls his shirt back on, and settles back in. He reaches to the side of the bed and pulls out a bottle. "Rum?"
