Hmm... pliable metal.
That's just so very wrong in every way.
I mean, it could have uses... but not as armor... and not as the foundation for something like Iron Man. It could be metal skin, but just aesthetically because it'd be generally worthless for any real purpose. It's like having a body without bones. Maybe the muscles work but without something hard and rigid to pull on they're not really going to move anything.

Chaplain Fenix Iron Man's armor is a magnetically aligned matrix of ferrous crystals or some s**t. So basically he's a gigantic mono-cellular organism? You know, what with the CELL WALL he built up around himself that's nothing more than a series of arranged lipids ferrous crystals that's designed to flow and reshape without breaking while forming a nearly impervious barrier to the outside world.
