HOORAYI AM VERY EXCITED. O_O I messed up and didn't give my parents a list until just a few days ago. I have nothing but IOUs under the tree. crying =/ I didn't even make one. I ask for the same things every year.

I hate my computer! scream
As soon as I turned it on today, I was bombarded with warnings saying I have viruses and spyware on my computer, and just to make sure it got the message through, my background has changed blue, with a black rectangle in the middle telling me I have spyware, and that I should remove it.
I can't remove any of this because even if you tell the program to delete or quaretine them, it doesn't do anything. It just says "Item has been succesfully deleted/quarentined" and then is just as ******** up as ever.
Even if we do 5 spyware and virus scans in a row, they never find a single thing, but we continually get messages saying we have them.
What makes this worse, is that my mouse has recently taken a liking to ******** up as well, and will either not work at all, or it'll take five minutes to get to the bottom of the screen.
What's worse than the mouse and the rest of all this? I'll tell you.
Every time something like this happens, it's always MY fault. Just because I'm on the most, or I'm the one who finds this out. Even if I'm on once during the week, and a virus message pops up, it's my fault because I found it, and that means I've done something to ******** up the computer, even though I was only on MSN and Gaia.

Have you tried running the scans in Safe Mode and with System Restore disabled?

LCLpuddle Have you tried running the scans in Safe Mode and with System Restore disabled? No, but I'll do that now. ...How do you get into "safe mode" with XP? I know with 98 or something you push F8 during the start up, but I've never seen any message with XP saying "push F8 to enter safe mode".
