The Sun of Orient

Orient shrugs a little. "Ain't no place truly safe fer yer likes." he says. "Mine neither."

Uriel blinks at the 'yer likes' part, until he remembers that Orient just means the prostitute part, "It will be safer than where I've come from. Safer than someplace I've never been before too."

"Maybe, if yer lucky, boy. Safest place ye can be is ona ship. That way no one can track ye, no matter how good they are. Yer always on the move, yer always only at a place for a few minutes... maybe a day at the most. It's a life of freedom, a life on the sea..."

"A life with, what, three customers? Who'll likely get bored of me sooner or later. No thank you. I need to be in a city." Of course, he doesn't want to bring up his better arguments... like how having a Purple on your boat makes it a target for all kinds of magical trouble that the average pirate doesn't even know about, let alone can they handle it.

"A life is not about customers." Orient replies. "It's about treasure, and comeraderie. It's about the search, not even necessarily the find. Are ye happy giving sexual favours all day every day for a scrap of cloth and some gold?"

Uriel's eyes darken a little, and he turns to walk away, "Not everybody's looking to be happy."

This is something that Orient does not understand at all. He had thought everyone wanted to be happy. He left that palace, he'd left his father because he knew that being emporer of the twelve kingdoms would not make him happy at all. He'd come far away from there, no necessarily looking to become a pirate, but looking for work, and a better life than the corruption he'd known before.

He'd fallen on hard times and been accepted on this pirate ship because of his agility and innate way of talking himself out of trouble. He'd not known how miserable he'd been until he learned to sail the ship and find shiny, sparkling treasure. He'd not known how miserable he'd been with all the princesses being shoved at him for marriage until he'd experienced the touch of another man.

Happiness is what he craved above all else. How could Uriel not wish to have it?

"Then what are ye lookin' fer, lad?"

"Something far simpler. I just want to stay alive." Because as far as Uriel's concerned, the alternative is much much worse than whoring." He puts his thumbs in his pants at the front, and walks away, to go explore the ship some more.

Orient shrugs it off. Everyone's got problems. If Uriel is looking to stay alivem perhaps a pirate ship isn't the best place for him. He starts whistling and continues to move the ship wth the water beneath.

After some time exploring the ship, he gets approached by one of the sly men, and winds up on said crewmate's bunk.

And since I'm orient, and he's doing piratey stuff, he continues to do piratey stuff. Then he goes down to his room and plays with his gold.

Uriel goes to his bed, after doing his little trick. He dosen't really know what piratey people do to spend the days.

Orient stands in front of the mirror he'd stolen and admires his latest work of art. They'd encounteredthe leviathan not long before Uriel had gotten on the ship and the skin is still a little tender. He wonders what Uriel is doing. Then he decides to find out.

The young boy lazes about on his hammock, reading a book. He only owns one book, and he's probably read it a million times... but he likes it. He's had other books in the past, but this is the only one he's cared about taking with him when running away. Besides, it takes him a while to read through it, since his literacy isn't fantastic.

wHEN Orient hasn't found Uriel on the deck, he makes his way below, and finds him reading. He smiles devilishly because Orient is like that. He plops down on the floor beside Uriel's bunk. "Innit dark in here for readin?"
