I play the clarinet as well!
Despite what people say, I strongly disagree that the clarinet is a girl's instrument!
I've been playing for 5 years now. I'm not as interested in it anymore, but I still feel proud when I play well.

What's up, peoples? My name is Stevie(I'm a girl no matter how boyish my name sounds! sweatdrop ) I've been playing clarinet for only three years. I'm in my last year at my junior high and I'm in my concert band. I can be pretty random at times and people wonder how exactly I get high grades when i'm always acting stupid sweatdrop Ummm what else....*gasp* Is that a bird!

I'm not as interested in it anymore, but I still feel proud when I play well. i totally agree! (even though i'm a girl sweatdrop ) but ppl always say that clarinets and flutes are "girl" instuments, but i know for a fact that the st. louis symphany orcestra has a male clarinet! 9not sure bout the flute though, but that doesn't make it anymore girly!)

I have been playing clarinet for 4 years, bass clarinet(my favorite) for 3 1/2 years and alto clarinet for 1 year. I dont like the alto clarinet but i am the only one in my band that sounds good on it and so my director is making me play it. I go to the High School for Performing and Visual Arts and we are a strictly arts school so no sports which also means no marching band. I am not sure if having no marching band is a good or bad thing though.

I played Clarinet for 2 years, but I had to quit when I went into High School because the school band cost $200 D:
I'd still be playing if not.

Hi! I've been playing the clarinet for almost 4 years....I'm third chair...I love band ^.^ I'm thinking about joining Jazz Band Next year, but right now I'm just in regular smile

OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!! My band is going to play Lord of the Rings! hehehe Hail to popular vote! but i was kinda torn...some other options were Phantom of the Opera and Harry Potter...im just so glad i dont have to play Star Wars...

most of my notes have a good tone, but my middle b flat always has a bad tone. i have the same embouchure when i'm playing all of my notes...is there something wrong with my clarinet?

Hello. Ive been playing clairnet for 2 years now. I started in grade 9 and im now in grade 10. Last year, there was nine clairnets and this year, theres only one. that's me. its really scary knowing that im the only clarinet. so when it says soli, its solo. it creeps me out so much.

I just switched to 1st clarinet reciently. (yea me!)
but anyways, now I have a note that I cant play gonk ... It's the highest E above the staff that's playable on a clarinet. Anyone have any tips for playing those really high notes?

hi, ive been playing clarinet since 5th grade, and im in 10th now. Theres like 7 guys in my band and only two of us are in honor band. its kool though cuz we sit next to each other and we are like best friends kind of. i hate it tough cuz he got second chair and i got third...... cry
