[Quistis :: Black Pearl :: Lower Deck]
Quistis gave a small nod, crossing her arms over her shredded coat. Those soldiers at the port had roughed her up and pretty much destroyed her coat, covered in rips and holes. She growled, remembering that she was still wearing it and no longer needed to. She quietly unbuttoned it, revealing a dark blue short sleeve vest with long white sleeves that came out from underneith.
"Yes, knowing what is going on would be nice. And gathering everyone who doesn't know would probably be easier then repeating yourself over and over." As a teacher in Radiant Garden before leaving on this quest, she knew how repeating oneself could get quite frustrating, especially when everyone wanted to know the same thing.
The Blue Mage blinked when Kyle pointed out her being out of place in Port Royal. She looked back at her shredded jacket before speaking. "You are correct, Kyle. I do not live in Port Royal, if that's the name of the place we were just at. As you can tell by the remnants of my coat, they were not very welcoming to me or the other boy your group rescued from the gallows. There's a bit of a story of we ended up there, but the short story is that the guards were harassing him, I intervened, and a battle occured. We lost, got thrown in prison, and were sentenced to be executed."
She frowned, as if trying to ignore that long and horrid moment. Quistis pulled her glasses from her pocket, staring at one side missing its lens and the other with a jagged crack down the middle. A sigh escaped her lips, and she put the frames back in her pocket. "I seemed to have strayed a bit. I don't live in Port Royal; I'm from a town known as Radiant Garden. And the reason why I was in Port Royal is because I was looking for a friend of mine who left. His name is Leon."

[Joe: Black Pearl: Sleeping Quarters]
As soon as Louis was around the corner, Joe was sitting up, squeezing out the rag over his mouth before dipping it in the bucket and squeezing it over his mouth again. "I'm fine," he grunted out between rag squeezes. He wasn't a damn invalid. Yeah, he still felt like crap, but that burning in his body was gone, now. Amazing what poison could do to the body.
The male looked from Jenny to Noelle with his good eye, before resuming his bucket drinking. He kinda hoped Louis got back quickly with that cup, considering a lot of the water missed his mouth and dribbled. And his scar was itching, too.
Taking off the eye patch, the girls would've seen the scarring quite clearly. There was the small line that trailed up his right cheek, and then his eye.... It was scarred around the outer edge, and the eyelid barely moved, only lifted enough to just manage to tell that the eye was glazed over with that white blindness.
Giving it a quick scratch, the male frowned at the feel of it and covered it back up with the eye patch. Yeah, he was going to have to look at it when he had a mirror, for one, and two, it felt horrific, so it probably looked at way to Jenny and Noelle. They didn't need to stare at it.

Jacob ll Brig ll Pearl
Jacob strolled into the brig."Kyle, I do indeed have some questions, the first being whether or not you use the trinity charms a lot. Because Ajora knows how they work. And he tried to use it a psychological warfare already. The next being how were the Replicas created? How could something so foul be spawned, and how do they know what you know...see as you see, and think as you think?" The scraggly teen palmed his face and sighed before leaning back to the wall.

{Leon : Hawaii : Village}
Leon emerged from the portal, seemingly unaffected by the darkness. Cory's insight had worried him slightly, especially since he realized that he was right, and a few of them had used a portal already. He was a bit cold, but it was nothing that he would show physically. He looked around the village, seeing that though it had been under attack, someone else seemed to have taken care of it. All in all, the damage from what he could see now minimal, nothing compared to what had to be repaired at Radiant Gardens. He watched in silent amazement as Kyla used her unique magic to restore a damaged building.
"Well, there are no enemies here. I guess we're on standby until something else happens." He said to the group. "Just don't go too far off on your own."
He caught Cloud's eye, seeing the Buster wielder leaning against one of the nearby buildings, it had been awhile since the two allies had had a chance to discuss anything and now was a perfect chance. He looked to Riku.
"Keep an eye on them alright?" He asked, walking away from the group and towards Cloud, walking past him. If Cloud wanted to talk, he was sure he would get his intention and follow.

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Cargo Hold]
"My summon?" Anthony said, pinching his chin between the side of his index finger and thumb and lowering his gaze to the wooden floor as he pondered. "Oh right! Kyle mentioned something about summons early today when we were on our way to see Tia Dalma. Maybe it's still awakening."
The warrior-knight shrugged, figuring he'd deal with his summon the next time it speaks, then, after placing the lantern down, walked over to Dawn. He took some of the the fruit from her hand and placed them back into their container, then picked up the entire crate. "Eh... I think I'll stick to the fruit. I'm too lazy to cook."
Even with what little light shone on Dawn's face from the lantern, Anthony was still able to notice the sudden shift in her facial expression. "Is something the matter, Dawn?" he asked as he started making his way over to the staircase.

[Stupid internet shutting down on me today.]Sayrike:The Black Pearl:Lower Decks After the chaos and capture, Sayrike needed a breath of fresh air. She gave a small smile to Jenny before the other girl departed. It was nice having physical contact. Sayrike didn't realize how much she missed it. She reflected back on the group. They all really were little islands unto themselves, each focused on their own problems and trials and experiences, Sayrike included. Still, not even 12 hours ago, Sayrike was alone and weary, an outcast in the town, a wandering wraith in a warm (if not smelly) community. It felt kind of nice to be part of something. Sayrike's thoughts were interrupted as the door slammed shut to the other room. Weren't Louis and Kyle there?! She saw the flashes of light from under the doorway, but before she could go over, Anthony was there in an instant...followed by a crash. Sayrike peeked through the now-empty frame, amazed at Anthony's strength. Well, it seemed like their magic was back. But, how odd...Louis didn't remember anything? Or was he just feigning amnesia to get out of how he had treated Jacob? Her eyes narrowed. Something was definitely amiss. Man, where was that fresh air? There were too many things to think about. The hollow thunk, thunk of Sayrike's footsteps as she climbed the wooden stairs above deck were music to her ears. The feeling of freedom...it was nice. She lifted her head up to the sunlight, closing her eyes as she plodded up the last half of the steps, feeling the warmth through her mask. The cool mist of the sea made her skin tingle. It was only hours ago she was doing something similar in the forest, just having a moment of solace and silence. Sayrike casually strolled over to the bow, leaning forward against it. She felt the boat rock up and down as they made excellent time, gliding through the waves like scissors shearing through wrapping paper. It was just her, the ocean, and the boat. The cries and calls of the Pearl's crew blended with the creakings of the ship and the snap of the canvas sails, making a peaceful melody of ambient sound. Sayrike sighed, letting out all of her tension and stress. Truly, all the terrible things in life were worth moments like these. Kyle's message broke through Sayrike's peace a few minutes later. Reluctantly she stood straight, feeling herself gather the thoughts that had run loose as she let her mind wander and empty. Ah, it was time to get back to the situation. It seemed like each thought returned with 20lb weights; Sayrike physically felt heavier as her mind began to work again. The girl made her way back down below decks, finding Kyle and the other Final Fantasy woman without too much trouble. Kyle looked a little worse for the wear, Sayrike could tell. The upcoming discussion was not going to make things better. Quietly she took a seat across from him and the woman, whoever she was (Honestly, Sayrike had forgotten her name) just as Jacob was finishing saying something. It seems that talks had already started. She would let everyone join and speak their piece first before she said what was on her mind.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Cargo Hold -> Lower Decks]
"Huh? Oh..." Dawn asked, looking up at Anthony before looking away again, looking down at her feet as she walked carrying her own load of fruit to share with the others, "Just thinking of something I wish to speak to Kyle about." she looked up at Anthony with a small half smile, "It is nothing important. Plus I am starting to feel a little tired."
She continued her way out of the cargo hold and towards the other lower decks of the Pearl. Dawn shifted the oranges in her arms to free her left hand, and took a brief moment to open and close her hand that still hurt after the treatment that Ajora gave it. The mark on the back of her hand still bothered her greatly. She needed to ask someone about it. Dawn figured if anyone had a faint idea, it would be Kyle. Him and Ajora were almost the same person after all.
At the same time, she kind of didn't want to see Kyle, at all. Not with the image of his face staring at her with those cold eyes still in the back of her mind. But who else would she ask...?

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Cargo Hold]
As they walked towards the staircase, Anthony shifted the crate of fruit to one arm and used his free hand to pick up the lantern. He then looked at Dawn as she spoke, returning the half-smile, but then puckered his lips and shifted them to the side again as he began to feel concern for the girl. He knew she wasn't telling the full truth just by the way she responded. After rehanging the lantern, the boy stepped to the side and allowed Dawn to climb up the stairs first.
As they walked down the hallway of the lower deck, Anthony notices the girl staring at the hand Ajora had injured. He knew then what Dawn wanted to speak with Kyle about. "How's your hand feeling," he asked, his concern indicated in his voice. "Has it gotten any better?"

[ Kyle : Caribbean : Pearl's Lower Decks ]
"Oh, Leon?" he said, a look of slight surprise on his face as she explained herself. He'd figured she was probably from Radiant Garden, since pretty much every Final Fantasy character was. "He's actually with our friends- we had to split up and go after two different goals, and he's leading the other group in search of King Mickey."
At that point, Sayrike entered without saying a word and Jacob followed shortly after, already having questions coming out of his mouth... followed by some pretty stressing news.
"He... how did-," he began, looking exasperatedly at his own charm on his wrist. They were so nondescript, it was hard for Kyle to believe Ajora had noticed them. "Yes, we use them for planning mid-battle and long-distance communication, since thought moves a lot faster than sound. But... for him to have learned that..."
Kyle groaned. "Wonderful. So now anytime I try and strategize with you guys, you'll have to guess if it's me or him. Jesus, that ruins..."
He gripped the bridge of his nose, massaging it gently with his thumb and index finger. "Nothing we can do about it now. Anyway-" he exclaimed, leaning against the cell bars to look at the two of them (and Anthony/Dawn, if they'd entered by that point).
"We're not... entirely sure how the Replicas were formed- not the specifics, anyway. In the last world we were at, Halloween Town, Vexen- Number 4 of the Organization- somehow gathered information on all of us without us noticing and used that information to replicate us, like he did Riku three years ago," he explained, crossing his arms. It was just two days ago that all this had happened, so the details were still very clear in his mind. "We were going to intercept him anyway, because he'd kidnapped Princess Belle- Beast's Castle was pretty much right next door- and taken over Finklestein's lab. Just before we were able to enter, however, the lab exploded... and the next thing we know, we're under attack by our Replicas."
"As you can tell, though, they're obviously not perfectly replicated. They're more powerful than us by magnitudes," he continued, stressing the last few words a bit more than the others to place emphasis on them. "They're pretty much saturated in Darkness, which grants them all that power, but makes them as corrupt as they are. They... they do have our memories, but..."
Kyle's voice trailed off as he glanced off to the side, obviously in thought, like something had struck him.
"The geists," he muttered, his jaw remaining slack afterward as it normally did when he was too busy thinking to give a damn. This was the first time he'd actually had time to give the events of Halloween Town thought. "Before we could get to the lab, we were ambushed by Geists. But they didn't- they didn't drain us, they just phased through us, and- and I remember they evoked all sorts of our worst memories when they did- that's how Vexen must have done it! He used the Geists to scan all our negative memories in his place, using them as a proxy and taking those memories and planting them inside the Replicas! They're not our whole selves- they're our negativity!"
He looked between the people present, eyes wide as he pieced things together, as if he expected them to keep up, as if he thought they'd be on his wavelength. And then he recoiled a bit, bringing a palm to his forehead before anyone had a chance to respond.
"Geists, ah- jeez, don't think I've said anything about them yet- they're like... they're these pale, humanoid, shape-shifting entities that can drain memories out of you on contact- we actually have a sentient one as an ally, you've probably seen him around, his name is Prote," he explained, his eyes closed rather tightly as the hand that was on his head went to his temple, massaging it lightly as if he'd developed a headache. "Vexen must have found or made a new breed... geez, it all makes sense now-"
At that point, he cut himself off, though it might have just seemed like he'd ended the sentence. His temple-massaging slowed somewhat and his eyes opened slowly, glazing over (though no one could see as he was facing the ground).
... I lead them into that ambush.
[[Wooo exposition. Sorry.]]

[Laan .:. Caribbean .:. Outside Captain's Quarters]
"Heh..." Laan legitimately smiled as Alice grinned at him, saying he had grown and using his previous name. "Don't call me Alan, though. That's Cory's name, not mine. I'm Laan now."
Laan turned to look at Kuro Oni as well, his smile gone. "What we have here is a new ally in the form of the Death Seraph. I'm Cory's 'replica', but you may refer to me as Laan."

Sayrike::The Black Pearl::Lower Decks Sayrike shifted in her place on the ground, one leg bent upright with her elbow resting easily on the top of her knee. She appeared fairly nonchalant, but if the mask wasn't covering her face one would see that she unblinkingly focused her gaze upon the speaker, who happened to be Kyle at the moment, and listened closely. She had heard bits and pieces of this before, but Kyle's explanation certainly helped to fill in the gaps. The gears in her mind were turning anew, as was Kyle's, it seemed. He had a telltale habit when he was stressed and thinking, she noticed. With Jacob's mention of the Trinity Charms (of which Sayrike only knew a little bit), the girl absentmindedly fingered her own, which she had earlier strapped around her ankle, leaving it covered by her pants. No need to go showing it off. Despite her previous resolution to keep quiet, she felt that this was the time to pipe up and relieve at least one burden off of Kyle's (and Jacob's) mind. But before that, she asked, "Through the Trinity Charms, we can direct our thoughts to just one or two people, right? It doesn't get sent out to everyone? If so, there's a simple solution, you know." She didn't want to say anything out loud in case they were overheard.

The Nightmare Dreadnought smirked as the smiles from both Alice and Laan disappeared at his question. He wasn't surprised when Alice didn't answer his question, and listened intently as the Death Seraph spoke.
"Ah I see, I remember you, you were that other kid, so you had a growth spurt too it seems. Whatever, just stay out of my way and we shouldn't have any problems." He replied, walking past the two of them and into the Captain's Quarters without another word.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Pearl's Lower Decks]
Dawn shook her head a little as she spoke, "It still hurts slightly. I guess potions heal the wounds, but doesn't always take away the pain. Makes sense"
As they got to the deck, she let her voice drift away when they reached the others, including Kyle, in the brig. As Kyle spoke she took extra care to not look directly at him and just in the direction of the floor at his feet. She listened in and out of his explanation. She got bits of the replicas and geists... followed by negativity. All in all, most of the explanation went over Dawn's head. So she just continued to listen to the conversation between the four. What she needed to talk about could wait.

Laan raised an eyebrow as Kuro Oni spoke and walked past, confused for a moment. "I don't understand. Why would I get in your way when your own temper is more likely to ruin your plans than I? Even if I had a mind to be in your way, I'm fairly certain any attempt you make to remove me would be foiled by your inability to control yourself." The deathknight crossed his arms, a legitimately confused look on his face as he added, "I mean, you're not exactly the most dangerous person on this ship. You just really want to be, and I'm thankful for your predictable tantrums. It allows me to know what your next move will be."

[ Ivan Ooze ; Lugae ; Zexion : Hawaii : Lugae's Laboratory ]
"... and that's our offer. You and I both know he has far more resources," voiced the steel-blue haired Nobody, standing upright in the midst of Lugae's lab. It appeared to be just he and the scientist, but Zexion could smell another approaching scent- he even lifted a cautionary finger to Lugae as a warning.
"Hrm... I suppose your right. And combining our research and brain power... well, it would only serve to speed up the processes," he muttered, playing with the thin, white beard on his chin as he contemplated. "You have a deal. Not like I have much to lose, anyway... you're sure there's no saving him?"
"No chance. Too many external forces-" Zexion began to say, only for the door to Lugae's lab to slide open with the sound of air depressurizing. In walked none-other than the King of Slime himself.
"Well well, you didn't tell me we were having company, I would have prepared some tea!" Ooze said, though the gleam in his eyes seemed to be dangerously inhospitable.
"Ah, yes, Lord Ooze- meet Zexion. An old acquaintance of mine come to help me finish work on our coup de grace!" Lugae replied, smiling broadly at Ooze with a number of his teeth missing, likely due to old age. "With him around, it should be finished by sundown-"
"Ah, wonderful! It'll be done about the same time as my other two babies!" Ooze announced, definitely pleased to hear the news. "Not to mention that armored buffoon supplying those pirates just gave me a ring- his fleet should be here before sundown, as well! Even if the Rangers got their hands on that wretched Power, they'd still be no match! Oh, wonderful day~!"
With that, Ooze walked out, whistling a light tune, the door closing behind him with a similar sound. Lugae released a scowl the moment the door was fully shut, turning to glare at Zexion. "Yes, quite right... nothing here to lose. Well, let me show you to the bio-pod chambers..."
