he noted zahar stumble and then on the edge of his mental hearing he heard her berate herself, "oh zahar its not that you are a clutz its jsut that you are not dressed in a way thats is good for walking the woods. i trip a lot too, i think its casue my shoes are so smooth bottomed. Sk does fine buts hes in bare feet and must have tough feet casue i couldnt do that it would hurt i think and all the dirty on the feet, uhg. kinda gross."
SK stepped beside her after a moment and signed "you are more then welcome and besides how else will we train," he then looked around as they walked noting the framiliar terrain from when he had wandered around, "we are nearly an hour out of the village, would you like to go to where i am going to build before we go back or no? the trip was shorter then i had imagined."

Sorry, I forgot that you can hear me Artimis. Please ignore that last outburst. She steadied herself and tried not to grab onto SK for support. As for SK's feet I believe they are just fine the way they are. He is comfortable like that after all.
Zahar carefully picked her way on the path thinking about what answer she would give SK. Maybe it would be best if we went to the village first SK. Then I believe that it would be easier to find my way back to your place. She paused her signing and continued walking. We could go along the outskirts of the town not entering and then head to your camp, and then back. That way I will know there and back. She looked over at him for a moment and almost trips again.

"sounds good lass," he reached and steadied her with a strong hand," you are terribly worried lass. you are practically tripping over yourself. now i know that you arent the best woodsperson but i know you handle better unless under stress. try to relax lass," he squeezed her shoulder and smiled a careing smile, "all will be ok."
" oh do not worry zahar, it is ok,and yes it is ok so long as he is comfortable i guess." he then ran ahead look around for a sign of wildlife before SK could spot it. Mavrick trundled up and the artimis petted him as he walked absently.

Zahar shivered once and almost leaned into SK's touch. I cannot help but worry. SK I- I am a coward and a fool. Her hands worried at her dress again as she watched where she was walking. I keep seeing these images of people angry, and dissappointed, and my sister, and fater hating me. SK I do not want to be hated. I Did not mean to. I did not know. Her head still bowed she started to cry as they were walking.

Not too far from where Zahar bowed her head there was a brief series of crashes followed by some muffled swearing. Haisyn hung upside down from a tree branch some 15 feet from the ground, legs wrapped around a smaller branch protruding from the limb. She glared and pointed up at a small, brightly colored bird and shook her fist. "I WILL get my belt clip back, you orange feather duster!"
The bird proceeded to drop a small pine cone on her head when she started to right herself and suceeded in dislodging her from her precarious perch when she jerked aside to avoid getting her eye put out. A few more crashes and a loud whump later, Haisyn was on her back and trying to convice herself that retribution wasn't worth a forest fire.

SK stopped and sgnaled to zahar, "watch the boy," and ran off. after about 40 meeters of silent sprinting he came across the sprawled form of a woman who looked rather perterbed and dischevled. his blade was out in a flash and he crouched ready for battle before recognising the figure as one of the people he saw while scouting the camp and noted the bird in the tree that was sqwaking in a mocking tone at the lady while holding a strange object. he dropped and grabbed a rocl aiming carefully and hurled it hitting the object and not the bird. the bird sceeched at him in anger as it fleww off and about the area above the two of them. the object fell and landded sqaurely on the womans chest. he lay his blade across his shoulder and bowed low, "madam, are you alright?"

Haisyn sat up and gently rubbed the dirt off the belt clip against her pants leg. She would have been happy to leave the bird alone if it hadn't flown into her room and taken that one particular trinket while she was changing. The little stylized fox on the front was the only piece of her mother that they hadn't managed to take from her. "Yeah, I'm fine. Falling out of trees seems to be a regular thing for me lately."
She'd been taking Ash out to help her try and get a grip on the local wildlife. Ash hadn't taken to it very well, though... She was a very social person and she didn't seem very happy when she didn't have anyone to chat with. Or at least torment.
Haisyn stood and brushed herself off as best she could, glad she'd only been missing her boots when the bird took off with its prize. This might have been rather akward if she hadn't been dressed. She carefully placed the clip in her pocket for safe-keeping until she could return it to her swordbelt, and held out her hand for a shake. "I'm Haisyn. I uh, guess you're one of the latecomers or something?" She shrugged, willing to leave her guess as just that if he didn't care to be that social with a stranger. God only knows she'd been less than talkative with most of the other colonists.

he blinked and kept his face impassive, she was alright and that was the main thing and she obviously knew her way about these woods so he said,"unffortunatly i do not know what you are talking about with regaurds to me being a 'latecomer'. it is a pleasure to make your aquantence im sure. i have to return to zahar so she does not become more worried thne im sure she already is, if you'd like to come then fallow me. we are going back to your little village for zahar," he bowed slightly and turned on a heel and began to walk away.

Hmm. Haisyn shrugged. Definitely not the social type. She picked her way after him, not with the speed of one unaccustomed to bare feet, but like one who is simply concerned with being certain nothing sharp or fangy lurked underfoot. She hadn't seen Zahar or Kataio for longer than a passing glance for a while now. It would be nice to see them again.
Zahar looked a little the worse for wear, and not just a little like she'd been crying. She was standing protectively next to a little masked boy in a cloak that Haisyn couldn't exactly remember seeing before. She couldn't help but assume that the little one belonged to the blunt stranger, and that explained part of why Zahar was wandering around without Kata. She guessed the fact that Zahar was a teen now and had been a child the last time she'd really seen either of them must be another piece of the puzzle.
"Hey, Zahar... you don't look like you're feeling too good. Nothing happened to Kata, did it?" Haisyn's concern and curiosity were both leading down the same alley at the moment. This was another one of those times that she wished she was a telepath. Her friend's charge looked in need of a big hug and a friendly shoulder to cry on.

Zahar blinked her tears away and smiled lightly with her eyes. Shaking her head she signed to SK, Can you tell her that we got seperated? Kataio and myself that is. I am sure she is all right she has not tried to contact me. Then half hidden she signed, Probably off with Aricin. Zahar tried to straighten out her hair feeling oddly out of place now that Haisyn had joined them.

SK nodded, "zahar has asked me to tell you that herself and kata became seperated but kata should be alright and that they have not been able to make contact or have not overly tried and that she may be with aricin. as for this little guy whom i assume you do not know, " he jestured to Artimis, "this is artimis, he is newly awakened and i.. well apperently i am his gaurdian, " he smirked to the boy, "im sure i will be a decent instructor for the boy."

Haisyn nodded to Zahar. "Well, if you feel like she's ok. I suppose you'd know better than anyone. Ash seems to with me." She smiled a bit at Zahar's attempts to straighten up, not unkindly. "Eh... I just fell out of a tree, I probably look worse." She grinned lopsidedly and turned to look at SK and Artimis.
"Another kiddo? That's nice, actually. Most of the others have turned teen. I kinda miss the way they all played around before..." Haisyn muttered the next part more to herself than to the others. "Everything's felt all skewed since most of the kids grew again... like there's pieces to two different puzzles and everyone's trying to shove them together and make it work anyway..." She snorted and then shrugged, slightly embarrassed. "Look at me ramble. I guess we should be getting back now."
Haisyn turned to SK after a moment's silence. "By the way, do you have a name I can refer to you by, or is "Hey, you" going to be the prefered method?"
Maybe Ash had been rubbing off on her more than she realized. Or maybe she just missed having Kata and Merci' around. She didn't normally talk this much to people she hadn't at least had some time to study. Or maybe the past just didn't matter as much to her now that she actually a present to explore. And there was always the option that she was just thinking too much because she needed to catch up on a few days sleep.
((Busy time at work for a few days, you guys feel free to try and work around me if I don't show up for a day or two again. >.< I'll get back as often as I'm able...))

he looked at her, "call me SK i guess. Zahar and Art," art whom had come up to peer at the lady jumpped ahead of him.
he examined her. so there were many other it seemed. he would nto be so out of place "can you ask if im the ONLY one who is younger?"
SK nodded to Art, "give the lady some room art and yes i can ask for you. he just wants to know if he is the last one around his age?"

Zahar shook her head. I am not certain I have been away for a bit. I did not even meet all the child masks. Haisyn would know that better for Artimis. She looked to SK then to Haisyn. SK this may seem a little rude but I have to go. I feel quite uncomfortable. Maybe we could escort her back to the main camp and then go to where you are planing to stay.I really hate to do that she is quite a nice person from what I remember. Zahar unconciously fiddled with her dress after signing.

Haisyn contemplated the question for a moment before answering. "I'm not certain who else might be your age right now, kiddo, truth be told. There's a lot of the others I haven't really seen for a while. I've been spending a lot more time away from base than in it lately." She shrugged, knowing the answer was less than satisfactory. Then another thought struck her.
"And maybe we'll find some more masks soon. It's been a while since we went to look, and the consensus is that there were a lot more of you than the few we've found. They have to be out there somewhere. Maybe you can help find them, neh? And if they find the right guardian, they'll wake back up and there'd be lots more kids around."
She knew that Ash for one would like it if they found more masks. She had a feeling that several of the re-awakened teens were worried about whether or not any more of the Masques had survived. Haisyn wondered from time to time, too, but she also knew that it simply wasn't feasible for them to have found so many in such close proximity for there not to be more masks somewhere.
((Jeeps, thinking about more masks makes wish I could come up with an idea for one or two. XD;; ))
