Thats the thing... all hacks are detectable unlease you're breaking a coded encryption (because thats passive), It took Ghent about a month to break an imperial military encryption code, you're talking about slicing into another hacker's brain whom designed her own layers of security and probably has an active firewall (GiTS calls them Attack Barriers) which means each time you try and gain access it prompts for an encrypted key, every time it gets the wrong key it cuts the connection and sends a blast of viral material against whover is attempting access. It'd also send out a little alarm.

The end result, neither hacker can directly harm the other with virus's.

And anyway... Hack and slice are synonyms.

Dooku knew that Sidious would stab him in the back. He wasnt a fool, and he was well aware of Sideous' interest in Anakin Skywalker.
So he cloned himself and let the clone take his place.
It worked perfectly. Sideous and the rest of the galaxy were fooled into thinking the real Dooku had died on Grievious' battleship.
Meanwhile, the real Dooku retreated to Thule and began working his own subtle strings, creating the Seven Sith and working connections through Palpantine's Empire.
Palpantine eventually found out, but he was beyond carring, thinking that he was impervious.

Dooku had his men kill Palpantine's supply of clones and set Adal Krail up as the new Emperor with Dooku himself as the power behind the throne.
