The cuts where not even tears should be.

You're a friend, a partner...you're family." -Reeve tries to match the stare, ignoring the tears that are rising- What friend...what family member...what -husband- can let himself do that to his wife? Or let any harm befall her...?

Nyl told her bitter thoughts to shut up. Her eyes were still even as she looked at Reeve, but her voice had started to break a bit.
"Most people don't get happily ever after. They get weeks, or days, or even just moments. And if that's all they get, then those are going to be the best damn moments of their lives, because people without happily ever after learn to cherish happily now."
((Gasp. Nyl's never sworn before!))

Sarya wakes up in the med wing and looks around a bit confused at what happened and where she was. Slowly she sat up and moved off to bed and toward the door in search of her husband.

Nyl froze, unable to decide between hurt, angry and indifferent. Before her choice could register on her face, she got up off the couch and walked out the front door without so much as a sound. She didn't even glance up at the roof, and walked straight past the fountain, into the trees. She couldn't hear their whispers anymore, but it was better than hearing Reeve's silence.
