Train and Pikachu were walking again, and Train was trying to figure out whether they should just walk around for a while, then head out the exit that led to Pewter, or just go through to Cerulean, and then go back through to Pewter. Going to Cerulean would be a much longer trip, but she'd probably get more training done that way. And she definatly wanted all the training she could get.

But she was a bit uncertain about what her new Oddish's reaction would be once Train let her out of her pokeball. What if she tried to run away? Well, she really couldn't, because Train could just re-call Oddish back into her pokeball. Well, she wouldn't know unless she tried, right?

After the small pause, though, the Sentret came through and jumped at the wild Bellsprout. He swiped at the grass-type pokemon, leaving a few marks on one of it's leaves. "Bell!" The Bellsprout cried, it's leaves wiggling a bit as Sentret jumped back.

Two long vines shot out from the wild pokemon, smacking at Sentret. After a few hits, they slid back to the Bellsprout. Sentret shook itself, then looked at Bellsprout again.

Kurine saw Miharu run off out of the corner of her eye. She thought she might have heard a bird call, which was probably the reason. Oh, well...she'd find Miharu later. Right now she had this wild pokemon to battle.

Sensing it had leveled the playing field somewhat, the Mareep jumped up, bleating happily at the success of its Thundershock. Taking a few brave steps forward, the little sheep Pokemon repeated the attack, and loosed another fairly strong jolt of electricity towards Aska. Not being able to move freely, Aska took it on the chin and stumbled back, her movements on the ground awkward and clumsy. Seeing that this wasn't working so well, Miharu recalled her, deciding to send out someone who was a bit resistant to Mareep's electrical attacks. "Okay Lily, your turn!" Miharu called as she released the Bulbasaur. Lily appeared in her usual flurry of pink petals, looking around to see what was going on. She spotted the Mareep and took up a battle stance, preparing for her first command. "Use Leech Seed," Miharu said, deciding to just wear down the little sheep instead of attacking outright.

"Bulba!" cried Lily, firmly planting her four feet on the ground as three seeds burst from the bulb on her back, and embedded themselves in different places within the Mareep's thick wool. Three small plants popped up from the spots where the seeds had planted, somewhat garnishing the sheep with what appeared to be sprigs of parsley. Lily took a few steps back as the Mareep then came charging at her, throwing its weight into a Tackle attack. Lily took the hit, and Mareep began to retreat, as Lily shook herself, feeling some of her energy return as the Leech Seed started to work its magic.

Mag made his way up to the front door. The main entrance to his grandparents house acted as the store front for their pokemon Daycare services so the door was open and the decor of the room was that of a more professional office lounge. There was a counter where one could ring the bell for service and a PC to the left of the counter. Otherwise there were a few couches and a table in the other section of the room. Mag walked over to the counter. He rang the bell a few times to see if anyone would come over.

Not being very good at these kind of situations, Keegan stood back, also not sure of what to say. He turned his PokeNav over in his hands a few times, pretending to study it. "I should get Mori healed up before we go," he said to nobody in particular, knowing that the Ponyta had taken quite a bit of damage from the Doduo during the short battle. "Take care of yourself, Maven," he nodded, doffing an imaginary hat. "We'll meet up again soon, all right? Maybe you can come to the Beach Party in Slateport on the 1st of July, and meet some of our other friends. They'd be glad to meet you." Smiling once more, he turned on a heel and headed back towards the Pokemon Center, hands in his pockets.

Upon reaching the now-familiar building, he stepped inside and gave Morgan's Pokeball to the nurse, who accepted it and took it for treatment. Humming lightly to himself, he wandered around the lobby of the Pokemon Center, studying the various posters on the walls. The automatic doors slid open, although he didn't really notice that anyone had entered until he felt their presence behind him.

"Well now Keegan, you're a difficult man to track down."

A chill crept down his spine from the voice, and he slowly turned to face its owner. "You," he growled, his voice full of disgust. "What do you want?"

Miharu's eyes opened wide at the sight of the escaping Mareep. "Oh no! Lily, it's getting away! Stop it, please!" she cried, her voice practically begging for the Bulbasaur to do something. Thinking fast, Lily ran after it, extending her two long vines and wrapping them around the little sheep's body, stopping it in its tracks. Once more bracing herself, Lily began to pull the Mareep back towards them, which caused the electric sheep to bleat fearfully. It squeezed its eyes shut and blasted another Thundershock, its woolly fur dazzling with the effort. The electricity raced up the Lily's vines, making it impossible to avoid being shocked, but her type resistance helped her to overcome most of the damage. Grunting, the Bulbasaur struggled to pull the Mareep closer, once again feeling the Leech Seed's effects.

Miharu dropped to her knees and quickly withdrew a Pokeball from her backpack, watching the two Pokemon struggle with keen interest. It occurred to her that the Mareep wasn't weak enough to succumb to capture just yet, which would mean that they'd have to keep it from fleeing for as long as possible. Lily gave another good tug with her vines, pulling the little sheep even closer. Miharu grit her teeth and watched carefully, not daring to miss her window of opportunity for capturing the cute little Pokemon.

As the rock shattered over the snake's head, the lanky Rocket shouted out for it to use a Glare attack, hoping to slow or stop the pesky Vibrava in its tracks. Shaking off the last bits of gravel and slate that powered his head, the Arbok coiled its long serpentine body into a neat circle, ducking its head and flaring the large pattern on its neck. A blue shine adorned the Arbok's eyes as it shot a nasty look towards Bahamut.

Meanwhile, Portabello was still surrounded by Electrodes, all of which decided to shoot a Shockwave at him. At first, the sight of twelve waves of electricity seemed like the battle was lost, but then something clicked. Only one of these balls were real, so that means only one attack was real. If he could figure out which attack dealt damage, he'd be able to know which one sent it out! Bracing for the attack, the Breloom closed his eyes, the bright light shining through his eyelids as the eleven false strikes fizzled out, and the one real one shot him right in the right side. 3 o' clock! the samurai-like Pokemon 'shouted' mentally as he charged forward to the Electrode he thought was real. As Portabello approached the the (hopefully) right target, he lowered his head, building up speed for a powerful Headbutt, strengthened by his Bulk Up.

Ray and Flametail headed north to Cerulean City. Ray looked over to Flametail, "You think that attack will be useful against the gym leaders?" Flametail shrugged and looked to the sky. "It would be nice if I had a bike like some of those people we might." Ray sighed and continued walking. Flametail started to doze off. Ray stopped and held Flametail in one arm, while placing his bag down with the other. "You had a long day." He carefully placed his Charmander in his bag with the tail out. "That should be better." He smiled, and place the bag over his back. "We'll be at Cerulean in no time." Ray continued to head north.

Breathe... breathe...

Fifteen chest compressions...

Lift head away for a few seconds to see if the victim can breathe on their own... Repeat...

It didn't take Raimundo very long before he was able to resuscitate Whitney.
She coughed a few times, and water was spat up a moment or two following her coughs. "Wha... where am I?" she asked. She was lying on the ground, squinting up to look at her friends, and Anna, and the psychotic Pokemon behind them all. Nina was flushed a violent crimson. "Whit, you're in Celadon. We had a little accident and were thrown into a pool and you fell unconscious."

"Tch, more like she was knocked unconscious, Nina," the Ghost Pokemon added. "Anna, shut up." She flicked her hand at the Pokemon, before looking back down to her sister. "Rai resuscitated you, thankfully."
"Yes, I've gathered that already," Whitney replied sardonically. "What the hell happened that I... wait, why am I all wet? I need to s-- agh!" The girl went to sit up, but felt a terrible pain searing all throughout her head. "What the hell!" She promptly fell back to the ground, tracing the fingers on her left hand to the back of her head, feeling around.

"I... ah..." Whitney felt a patch of skin on the back of her head that was cut open slightly. "I'm bleeding," she said, bringing her fingers into view and squinting to look at them, seeing the medium red-colored liquid on them. "What... did I hit my head too?"
Nina hadn't noticed, actually. The entire incident had happened too quickly. "If you did, it must have been when you fell underwater. That'd explain how you fell unconscious, probably."

Then, there was a pause. Nina felt terrible for giving her sister a mild concussion-- That's what I get for using Pookie as a transportation method, she thought. I should've listened to what they said, and learned from what happened in my first experience with him. Nice job, you fricking idiot. It looks like you can attempt to kill people without even trying.

Kasiya felt a little sad after she and Maven had gone their separate ways. Maven had gone north towards Saffron City in hopes of getting some training in before Wednesday's Pokemon Contest in Cerulean, and Kasiya slowly made her way back into town, killing time until her ferry would depart for Cinnabar Island. She was glad that Keegan had been willing to accompany her on her small training mission, but at the same time, she wondered if he really was willing to brave another journey by ferry, this one a tad longer than the trip they'd taken to Dewford Island. She sighed and placed her hands behind her head as she walked, smiling as she walked through the streets of her hometown, as if committing it to memory before she was to leave it again. When she approached the town's square, she remembered all the battles she'd waged there, be it practice against Jaeshan or teaming up with him to show a snooty trainer his place. She'd be back, however, although she didn't know when, and she would have another rematch with her father.

She soon came upon the Pokemon Center, but she didn't go inside, deciding to wait for Keegan outside instead. She plopped down on a bench to wait, and after a few seconds, Ariel released herself, perching up on the bench beside her trainer. Kasiya smiled affectionately at the Vaporeon, and gave her a gentle hug, glad for the company of her first partner.

Ray stopped walking and noticed a small building. "Underground path to Cerulean City? Cool! Now should I take the shortcut or go through Saffron?" He looked back and noticed that Flametail was still resting peacefully. Letting out a smile, Ray turned and headed to the underground path. He entered the place and went downstairs slowly, trying not to awaken Flametail. "Wow, it looks like a long way." Ray started to walk to the other end. He yawned. "I should get some rest, but I'll wait until we're there." He chuckled, "I forgot, I'm practically talking to myself." He laughed softly, still walking.

A few more minutes went by as the group allowed Whitney to recover from her incident, sitting down near her, and Nina recalled her threat to society of a Pokemon back into his Safari Ball. Anna was recalled as well.

"Can you sit up yet?" Raimundo asked, tilting his head slightly to look down at the girl who seemed to be lying stiff as a board. He knew she wasn't comfortable. Whitney tried sitting up, very slowly, and this time, the searing pain she had felt shooting through her head before was reduced to, what she considered, that of a dull drilling. Sitting with her legs crossed, she leaned forward a little and held her head in her hands, letting out a sigh. "Everything feels like it's spinning. I feel really dizzy... ugh." She could almost feel her head throbbing. The azul-haired girl bit her lip. "Well, we could always take you over to the hospital, right? It's only about a block away, and if you wanted I could have Krystal fly you over there so you don't get--" Whitney shook her head a little. "No, Nina, it's fine. I can try to walk." Pause. "Well, really, Whitney, it's no trouble! Just let me--"

"No!" the Gym Leader hollered shrilly. This caused both Nina and Raimundo to jump a little bit-- the former of the two stood up and backed away a few feet. Whitney's eyes followed her, and she noticed out of the corner of her left that Rai was looking at the psychic as well. "Whitney," she said, her voice's volume toned down, "this was my fault, I know. I just want to help you."

Whitney was visibly annoyed. She stood up abruptly, receiving a mild head rush but ignoring it. "Don't you think you've helped enough for one lifetime? Everything you do, no matter what your intentions may be, always always always turn out terribly! God, I could've gotten killed today because of your frigging idiocy, so just get away! Leave me alone!"

And with that, the Gym Leader stormed off for the hospital, unintentionally bashing her shoulder into Nina's own as she walked by. She felt her sister's eyes turning to watch her. She didn't look back for confirmation, though.

Nina didn't move or blink for several seconds. All she did was watch her sister stomping away, breathing at a steady pace, her arms straight down against her thighs with her thumbs of either hand barely touching her body. She wasn't even thinking about anything-- the gravity of Whitney's words struck her like lightning, leaving her in a state of pure shock.

And then she was ripped back to reality when Raimundo tenderly rested his hand on the shoulder that Whitney had bumped into.
"Nina. It's going to be okay, I promise. She's just a little annoyed at the situation and is taking it out on you and saying things that she doesn't really mean. This is when she needs us the most." Pause. "Nina?"

The girl collapsed to the ground, crying hysterically.

Vibrava froze in the air then fell to the ground with a thud. The Pokemon seemed like a statue now. It wouldn't move an inch. No twitching; nothing. Talk about looks that can kill! Kilik thought, taking a step back. He eyed Bahamut with interest and gulped. What could he do? The Glare had Paralyzed her with fear, leaving her wide open on the floor. Could he attempt an attack? "Er...Use your Dragonbreath again!" he pointed.

Bahamut fluttered up into the air for a moment, then fell back down when meeting with the pattern on Arbok's neck. She was fully Paralyzed.

Walrus punched his fists together and caused all the Electrode to spin around their circle very quickly. When Portabello's punch came in contact with the one at 3 o' clock, it vanished into nothing. The remaining ten spheres closed in for another Shock Wave.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 06, 2007 10:27 pm

"Haha, that's the way Arbok, take a chomp at that pesky fly!" Cheered the Rocket, signaling his Pokemon to perform a Bite attack on Bahamut. Complying with a sadistic pleasure, the snake lurched forward, sinking its dagger like fangs into the Vibrava's wing.

Sick and tired of this cockamamie bologna, Portabello leaned forward, making a few uncomfortable expressions as toxins churned inside his body, building up an explosive ball of gunk. Let's see if this blasted ball can dodge this one! Flinging his head to the side, the Breloom launched a volley of Sludge Bombs at three of the clones, in the 7 o' clock to 9 o' clock range.

Mike merely stood, crossing his arms. His Pokemon was crafty, and worked well under stress. This was good.

Raimundo's natural, instant reaction was to kneel down and embrace his girlfriend in a hug, holding the back of her head lightly over his shoulder as she cried, resting his other hand on her back and kind of petting her to calm her down.

That wasn't quite what happened though.

Rai got to the part where he kneeled down and was leaning in to hug Nina, but when he was within a few inches of her body, he was shoved back onto his rear end. He was obviously surprised at her reaction, but he also displayed a slight touch of being hurt by her action.

"What the heck, Nina?" he asked, slowly leaning forward into a sitting position. "I'm just trying to--"

"To what? To help?!" she shot back, looking to him as she took her hands away from her face. It was visibly red and stained, and her eyes were a pinkish tone that almost matched. "Raimundo, don't even bother wasting your time on me. Everything that Whitney said about me was true! I--I try, and try, and absolutely nothing works out the way I intend! People DO end up getting hurt, and when I try to make things better, I only ruin the situation that much more!"
"Nina, you know that's not--"
"Yes it is!" she screeched. There was a pause, and her voice started to shake, almost with anger as she toned the volume down. "How can you possibly sit here with a straight face and tell me that everything that Whitney said about me isn't true? How can you?" She said the latter part of the sentence through clenched teeth. "Unless you were off in Fantasyland earlier, I forced the both of you to use my Rhyhorn as a method of transportation, when he's barely trained to battle, much less transport people around, and you're terrified of the species as a whole. And the result of my brilliant idea was my sister nearly drowing in someone's pool and slamming herself unconscious."

The girl let out a terrific sigh of frustration.
