Maximos Unless Enki was guardian of air, or guardian of fire....it was no longer his domain. ((Well... I could go into the technicalities of Enki's powers again, but it IS your RP so I suppose you have the say over it. Now, though the hydrogen and oxygen molecules ARE highly flammable, I don't think they are when combined, for their molecular structure changes at that point... I honestly have no clue if they can on a molecular level or not... Also, to get into said technicalites, Enki is able to control water by controlling mass quanities of of the H2O molecule. Movine them en mass to move around water itself, slowing the speed of the molecule to make it freeze into ice or speeding them up to cause them to become water vapor... So technically, can't Enki be able to stop them from exploding as well...? Also, it wasn't hardened water around it, but ice *Shrugs* But none of this I know for sure, minus the ice thing, so in the end, it's up to you))

"Hn," the scientist said, after watching the bubble burst into flames, "That was unexpected, I assume you didn't cause that sub-atomic particle shift, so it must have been something in the water itself capable of splicing a typical water molecule into its composite elements. The question is, what? This isn't about the fish, there is something in the water too small to be seen by the naked eye. I believe, despite the difficulties in obtaining a sample, that we are one step closer to solving this mystery."
He stared at the ocean, then came up with some ideas.
"I want a mobile lab set up on the shore, far enough not to get destroyed but close enough to collect samples. I want to colect water samples, but I'm not going to study the water. I will study the containers, attempting to study the way in which they are dissolved. Hopefully, I will find some type of material that is resistant to destruction. Perhaps something native to the ocean itself, do you have any containers made of ocean coral, or any natural sponges, seeing as organic matter remains unaffected, perhaps we could contain a specimen in something organic."

((Personal apoligies to Hugin and company. School started and I found myself lacking both as much internet acess before and the time to do the physical acessing. But since I hate leaving things unresolved, a quick prolouge for my silly little robot.
On a note, this happend about ten plus pages ago. So it should have no effect on what's happening now.))
As predicted Hugin shattered through the eye, and perhaps not quite as planned, into a vital part of the machine. The attack ripped into a box of sorts, beging a chain reaction As arcs of magical energy tore up the inside of the body, small contained explosions did further damage.
With a few spazms, the longlegs was down.

Huh, wasn't that a coincidence. He was looking for a little girl, and a little girl came a'running 'cross his path. Though, there was no way she could be the girl right? All those priestly-looking types chasing after her, hair and necklace blue like the ocean, High Priestess who carries the symbol of Latent.
Nah, no way.
So... turning about face as the girl passed him, he quickly started a chase of his own, but instead of stumbling behind all humourously like the clergy, he jogged up beside her, keeping pace with her skipping. Hands were still shoved in his jeans pockets, and he kinda weaved from side to side as he half-ran half-walked to her left.
"Sorry to bother you, but y'think you could help me out with somethin'?"
In any other situation this'd probably be considered really creepy.

*Enki listens to the man's explination. He had had a feeling it was something in the water, but he couldn't even possibly think what in the water could "kill" all of the fish*

"A bowl shaped from coral, and an organic sponge, let's see how the water reacts to that! I imagine finding a bowl shaped from coral might be hard, but even if it had a deposit that could hold a drop, we might be able to get some kind of sample. Studying it might prove a little difficult, but we'll manage somehow."

((Geez Enki, all that and thats with your powers "limited". Thats fine. You guys had me worried, thankfully you spoke the entire plan right by the shoreline.)) ::Simply put, the water would be clean. Should the probe search a mile, 10 miles, 10 feet, 100 feet under or over the water. It was clean. Should they try and gather a sample with a nice organic material, or plain glass the sample would be easily gathered and would come up as 100% completely normal sea water. Why? Well anything in the water could easily see a prob or pump coming and easily remove all notice of itself and allow the water to be taken. The nanites as a single device were not intellegent, but they were functioning as a whole, a rather large network. A message passed to one, was passed to all of them. Apparently attempts to persuade the invaders away from the ocean lead to more attacks, so they would simply hide. Though something about the aura of the water as a whole seemed to reject Enki's presence. Most elemental beings had a certain level of communication with their element...this water wasnt feeling chatty. ((Well, I've stated before that Enki is only able to do all of this with the power of Gaea itself. In his Leviathan form, he would still have ALL of his powers and complete control over all water. His powers are being limited in his human form, assumedly being stripped by his lack of attention to his element. Using Gaea's power, he can still control the H20 molecule, just not to the MASSIVE extent he could before. If he had this ability as a human, his brain would explode due to the fact that I doubt any human mind can possible fathom being able to individually move infintile amounts of things at once with their MIND, MAN! WITH THEIR MIND!!! *Trips out on bad acid*))
*Enki, getting the smartest idea of the day, decides to walk 10 feet away and to a small shop instead of going all the way to his island. Being an ocean community, there was no shortage of coral bowls or sponges. Enki buys one and thanks the vendor before returning to the scientist, handing him the two items*
((It's early... I can't tell if Maxi was stating that it would be clean before we RP them testing it or telling us as we're doing it... sorry if this post is a little "meh"))

((not as much detail because I know it won't work))
A mobile lab was set near the beached sub, high powered microscopes were used to examine water absorbed into the organic sponges, the coral bowl used as substitute petri dishes, a little akward, but this case called for improvisation. Nothing was eaten before it could be examined, but nothing was found, besides normal ocean water. it was clean, but rather too clean. mad
"It seems our microscopic friends have moved on, but this ocean water, it seems remarkably clean at first glance. I'm going to have it tested for pollutant's and trace minerals. Hopefully, one of the analaysis chambers still works."
Some of the "clean" ocean water was taken into the submarine to be tested as the doctor had specified. They awaited the results.

Yep! I know where he is, whenever he's close!::The priests were getting even closer, and to be honest in the last year she had become down right flustered with them. All she had done was wander into a garden and reveal that the Leviathan was hiding amongst their people. Everything else was just accidental. And now she had to spend hours praying, and she had to be the medium of her people to their god, and all because of a stupid pendant...She wanted to play Princess damnit! But none of the girls would even talk to her because she was "So holy." So when Shouyin asked his question, he couldnt imagine how much an answer he would get. The girl reached up, pulled the pendant over her head and handed it too him. The priests were floored. If their jaws could hit the ground they would have. The girl simply said.:: It glows whenever he's in the same place as you. Take it, I dont wanna play Priestess anymore.((Sorry Enki, but when I said this plan had been in motion for a long time...I meant it. Enki Leviathan Do what you want with this. Disgaurd it, make it a necklace, whatever you wish. It is made of ice from my body. It will never break and will never melt, but whenever I am within the same area as you, it will glow. It is my gift to you. Keep it well. )) ---- ::As previously mentioned the nanites steared clear of any containment units or sampling devices. But they would not halt their work. The ocean waters were almost 100% without pollution, and the mineral content was kept at a perfectly maintained and equalized levels, as was the PH. It was almost like someone was regularly cleaning and maintaining the whole ocean...like a giant fish tank. But that wasnt possible...was it?::

((FYI, Maxi. No one knows that Enki is Leviathan. The necklace only glows when Leviathan is nearby. Though, given Enki's appearence, if Shou sees the blue d00d and the necklace is glowing, he'll probably make the connection XP))
*Enki kneels down before the water, gently dipping his hand into it. He honestly isn't sure what he is trying to accomplish by this, but it's better then not doing anything at all*
Well... not exactly being a marine biologist or anything, I guess I should see if anything happens to my hand, huh?

In order to get a working specimen of this biologicaly enhanced plankton or whatever other microscopic organism was controling the water, he'd have to do something he'd never dream of doing in a million years. He tried contacting headquaters while Enki palmed the ocean, busy. He put a call through to the northern oil rigs, they wanted no part in his research though, seeing as the events of a few minutes ago had stirred some fear in their hearts. They told him to just leave it alone. "They clean pollution," Dr. Orderly said outloud, "Quite wonderful, yet, if this continues, no one will eat anything from the oceans anymore. The fisheries will close, beaches will close, restaraunts that serve seafood will go out of business, hot spots like Gambino island will be devestated economically, even the drilling for oil off the coast of Guldor is threatened. A very disturbing scenario."He spoke to Enki now, "I know of a place were the microscopic buggers will not retreat from the shore, but it's a dangerous proposition."
