"More than likely sometime tomorrow. I'll need Roarke to send soem form of directions, or his dragon as well. and probably a few days after that we'll see the Oracle."
A shrug.
"This didn't seem like a stop staring, respect my authority thing. She literally ran him down until she tired him out. like he was resisting doing something. and of course Nieran was cowering and trying to avoid them both. I don't know what's going on."

Oh joy, she had what...a few hours to decide if she was going or not? That figured. Though a blink at him them, shaking her head lightly. "Who knows what he's doing or not doing that's got her all fussy. May be as simple as her being mad at me...her temper lately is just...a tad intolerable to me." Of course Malik didn't have that problem with the mare, they could be equally pissy. But a slight shrug from her. "I suppose it's no worry though, it's not like she can really hurt him. They'll work it out." A tug at her collar and she walked in a circle in front of him for no reason at all really. "I need to see the oracle soon enough..."

He watched her pacing, and gently reached his hadn out ot touch her shoudler to get her to stop.
"I trust your judgement on the matter. what do you need to see the Oracle about? is something wrong?"
He was of course concerned, as this was his piper. and a glance to Broog, who was just staring with a big grin plastered on his face, adn he gave him a pat on the head.

And suddenly she was defensive in that flustered way. "No, no...nothing's wrong." Good lord she couldn't take anymore wrong things at this point in...well her life. Another tug at her collar, tilting her head at Malik slightly. "Well...I still owe her for that antidote. I thought maybe if I occupied my mind with what she wants me to do...I wouldn't be so...bad off." The flaw in this? How was she supposed to concentrate in the first place, let alone go out and roam all over Labyrinth and who know where else in the place. With the task brought a lack of secure feeling and she needed all of that she could get right now.

"I see. obligations to the oracle for saving my life. If you don't wnat to go, it's alright. I'll ask for you if need be. but we need to get you out of the fortress I think. just a little fresh air, a chance to really relax. a few trips might help clear your head too."
his voice was very gentle, soothingly calm.
"Besides, I'll need you to keep track of your father. lord knows five minutes after we get in teh building he'll be chasing down some student to draw the design of thier robes and barrage them with questions."

She shook her head slightly. "No, it's my responsibility to her. Besides, I have something of hers I need to give back." Though he got that slightly anxious look from her as he followed up oh her getting out of the place mentioning. It was odd for her, one who wanted to traipse everywhere now didn't want to do more than walk around the place, maybe venture out as far, or rather close, as the stables. Though at least his tone of voice kept her at ease, it being gentle and of slight suggestion, not the 'I'm going to throw you over my shoulder and make you' type thing. And she got that look again where she looked like she was going to laugh, but again didn't. Laugh damn you, is it really so hard? "Yes, that he would...have to tie a rope to his wrist and then tie the other en..." Oh that went a bad direction...wow the makings of a joke that went entirely south on her. A shake of her head, then quiet for a moment, brushing a few strands of hair from her face...she was starting that that bandana did more than hide her ears...held her hair back nicely too, that lack of it meant red and silver obscured her vision regularly. "How long are you going to be gone?" We left out, just in case.

He took her bandana out of his pocket, and gently tied it around her forehead, as he'd seen her do severl hundred times, though he avoided pinning her ears back with it. then gave her a slightly disappointed, though thoughtful look.
"No more than a half day, at most. not baring travel time. Nightmare can move through shadows like a Zephyr can the wind, but it's a lot more strenous on her. so I prefer not to unless I feel a real need. If you choose not to come, I'll get you some kind of means to contact me and I will come back here as soon as I hear it, just in case."

At least she didn't flinch when he tied that bandana on. Of course she raised a hands and combed at her hair a little with her fingers, making it all fall as it usually did. And thus she looked in usual headgear style with the exception of her ears showing. Piper tried to ignore that little flash of disappointment in his eyes. He had every right to be, she was the one that wasn't trying as hard as she should be. And she knew they weren't going to push her on it. Malik was still leaving the option of going with him open though. The more she thought on it the more appealing it sounded. Malik was going, Kieran was going, Nightmare and Nerian, perhaps even Serino. And who knew if the twins would be willing to cater to her childish fears, they seemed to keep to themselves. So, she had then, counting travel, at least a day without him but he would be back before it passed into another. But a nod to his mentioning on contact with him then a reach out with her hand, laying her hand to his arm, though she couldn't seem to look at him when she did it, she just wanted to know he was really there...she had felt distant from everyone lately. "It just...seems so hard to me Malik..." He knew what she was talking about, no need for her to get into a full blown rant of apology or anything and get all weepy.

"Yes, you do. A russion blue, all flat like."
He ran a hand along an arm. "That's just from the last couple of days. A bit of egg and I'll be fine." He snorted. "Snore? At elast I don't chew on my crushes wash rag. And I don't mumble." He crossed his arms. "You mumble, alot."
He patted at his cheeks a moment, checking to see if he really was puffy...."You have the disposition of a manx, and about as much prowess."
((note: manx = a rabbit's body with a cat's head. No tail. Couldn't be quite if they treid. I know, I have one.))

Alaran landed on the steps of the academy, trying to get another swipe in at Eliot while the two were dismounting. A student from inside rushed out with a long cloak over on arm, gave it to Roarke so that the headmaster might cover himself.
He was shakey, and week, but he wouldn't be getting any sleep for a little while. He had preperations to do before Malik showed. Speaking of which..."Alaran. I want you to go to Triumverate Fortress. D'vinn needs to know how to get here."
And what are you going to do? Take...
"I told you to go, Alaran." She snorted and left. There was definatly much more tension between the two then between Tanundra and Meilikki. He had a luckey cousin in that respect.
He spoke to the student who had brought him the cloak. "Stevens, find this girl a nice room. One of the limited access ones. Have dinner sent to her as well." He let Stevens guid Eliot away.
A trip to his room had him changed and polished, his hair tied back in a loose tail at the nape of his neck. Since the journey to his room took a fair amount of time, it was a while before he was back in the main foyer to issue a few orders to those students assigned to help when he had need.
"Lower the barriers outside, and disable the alarms, I don't want D'vinn and any one else he might be brining to run into any of our....defenses. HAve the items from the science rooms brought to my loft, just in case. Make sure all students carry their magical items on their person, we can't have magical concentration anywere. I don't want to draw attention to ourselves."
As powerful as they might have looked as an Academy full of wizards in training, some very powerful, there were few who were willing to stand and fight for the place. All they had were the outer defenses. It was rumor that kept the Academy standing, that and the dragon. And while a battle here would be difficult for any attacker, considering how Roarke would die before allowing anyone to enter agressivly, he knew that eventaully, they would fall. But he couldn't let Malik know that. While he believed that the drow saw no value in taking over his Academy, the elf might somehow let slip to others...
But he decided to stop thinking about that, because at the moment, extra angst was not needed. Not at all. Preperations were undergoing, he just had to hope that Malik would come, look at the lybrary, maybe give him a little information, and leave.

Meilikki sighed. Yet another person had left unsatisfied with her reading. But she wasn't being as plane tounged anymore. She was being more careful, couldn't afford to make anymore mistakes. Of course, these people asked fairly mundaine and predictable questions, were no real big individuales in the grand scope of all that was currently happening in Labyrinth. But stil, she had to be more careful. She couldn't let something like...that...happen again.
She sat at a table in that decorated room, forehead resting on the tips of her fingers. Shew as getting sick of this. That and she missed her medalion. Seeing the faces of her customers terrified her sicne her capture, and yet she thought that maybe ig she had the amulate, she might get used to it again.
Aella came out of the their bedroom, looking better after a bit of sleep. SHe had found a piece of leather to tie her hair back with, back up in it's top knot, and she was carrying her staff of course. She tapped it on the table to let the Oracle know she was there.
"Feeling crummy?"
"In every sense of the word."
"Anything I can do to help?"
"Turn back time. I'm afraid that is the only thing you can do."

"Oh looks who's tlaking about prowess. at least I do hunt. you stay at home and have mom feed you. and I'm not the one who doesn't want to use the claws and fangs I got. and I can be very quiet, thank you."
Though a bit of ruffled feathers and fur on teh washrag comment.
"At least I show and interest in women."
Malik took her hand in his, and moved it up to his face, watching her. Broog knew a private moment when he saw one, and ushered out the slaves. much like herding cattle.
"I know. But we'll work through this. and you'll be your old self before too long."
He let one had reach out, and very gently lift her eyes to meet his, and hold her eyes in that gaze.
"Even the worst storms end. and the longest nights always turn to day again."

"Are you implying that I show interest in men? Come on, Onyx. You show an interest in every woman. And I have been interested, I just don't let the whole world know about it." He rubbed at his nose.
"Quiet? Nah uh. I can hear you comming a mile away. At least I have some stealth, you have as much stealth as a rock."

"Hey, they all have thier attractiveness. and I've never seen you even so much as look at a woman twice. stealth, please. you got all the stealth of a pile of snow in a desert. I at least blend in with the shadows."
a smug little puffing of the chest there.
"and of course I'm quiet. I'm a hunter, you can't sneek up on food if your not quiet. You're the one that sleeps all day."

"My current dispostition not withstanding, which I think we've been over," he liften an eyebrow, "I do not just sleep all day. You don't keep a body like this" slight gesture "by sleeping. Be honest with yourself Onyx. I'm strong then you are. At least I was. And will be again when i get better." He chewed on some fish. Still no appatite, but he needed the energy.
"Shadows. Says the Vah who can't walk around in the day time. You're a peace of coal in the winter too. And you never were very good at hiding yourself in the sun. Big and black will do that to a guy."
