And it was. In a ferocious burst of fire, the Zigzazoon resembled a burnt piece of toast.

"That's some Houndour you've got there!" the trainer grinned, recalling Zoom. "Take a good rest, 'kay? You did great," she said to the Pokeball. "Hey, by the way, I never got your name. I'm Sera," she said, gesturing to herself openly.

"I'm Mary-Anne; and thanks. Great to meet you."

"Well, let's keep goin', then! I choose you, Mikaela!" A greenish bird with a red crest appeared with flashing lights, fluttering about quickly. Checking her Pokedex, M.A. discovered that his was a Taillow -- although its coloring was different from the one in the Pokedex. Sorta like Kasiya's Crobat, she thought.

"Quick attack, Mik!" Sera ordered, and the bird was flashing towards Daemyn with blinding speed. The Houndour had something else in mind, though; a purple gas drifted from its mouth, filling the immediate area between the two Pokemon. Coughing, the Taillow slowed down, decreasing the impact greatly.

Glancing down at her Pokedex (that, thanks to Michael, also worked as an Attackdex) she saw listed the attack called Smog. He must've learned that recently. . . she thought.

Sera frowned as her Taillow faltered. "Poison, huh. . Here, catch, Mikaela!" she called, tossing a Pecha Berry. The bird caught it and swallowed it whole. Glancing over at the confused M.A., she added, "In most battles, it's okay to use items when it's convenient -- berries are really good, too, for curing things."

Mary-Anne nodded. She was sure learning quite a bit in this one battle. "Okay, Daemyn, ember!" A fiery ball shot out of his jaws, but the Taillow was swift enough to dodge it. "Focus energy, Mikaela, then wing attack!"

The bird glew brightly before spreading her wings wide and crashing into the Houndour below. He howled from the impact, causing yet another spasm of cringing from M.A. "Quick, ember!" she commanded nevertheless, getting used to this battle business a bit more. Daemyn complied immediately, loosing another ball of fire as he slid back at the retreating back of the Taillow. It hit its mark. Critical hit for critical hit.

Both Pokemon looked tired. "Alright, Mik, one last quick attack!"
"Hurry, Daemyn, ember!"

As the Taillow sped towards the Houndour, he blasted an ember attack right in her face just in time. Mikaela staggered backwards, collapsing with eyes swirling 'round and 'round. Sighing, Sera recalled her Pokemon, but gave a thumbs-up a moment later to both Daemyn and Mary-Anne, smiling broadly. "Great battle!"

Nora and Keegan made eye contact for a split second. Her soft, brown eyes narrowed with an uncharacteristic smirk, and Keegan's green eyes flashed with determination. Both trainers called out orders at the same time - Stun Spore for Ivysaur, and Glare for Arbok.

Loki rose up out of his coils, baring his fangs while he stared down the smaller Ivysaur, who at the same time had shook the bud on its back in order to release a shimmering, gold powder.

"Don't look at it!" Nora squeaked.

"Don't inhale that powder!" Keegan yelled.

However, it was too late. Loki got a lungful of the noxious powder, the paralyzing effects of the Stun Spore hitting him hard. Ivysaur was in no better condition; Loki's terrible glare had frozen him with fear.

Sera showed M.A. the correct turn, then cut the trees that blocked the path between Rusturf Tunnel and the route leading to Rustboro. "Thanks, for everything," M.A. smiled, genuinely appreciative for all the lessons and help. "No problem! Just keep taking good care of your Pokemon; I can tell they really like you."

She blushed a bit, looking down at the contented, battered puppy in her arms. "Well, I'll go with 'cha to Rustboro, 'kay? I live there, y'know," Sera added, taking the lead down the route, with the sun setting fast.

Before they knew it, they were in Rustboro's PokeCenter, resting up a bit. Sera and M.A. chatted a bit while their Pokemon were quickly rested (neither of theirs were in such bad condition, after all). Then, with a light heart from meeting yet another kind trainer, M.A. left and headed for the train station.

It wasn't so crowded this late in the afternoon. Going to booth, she showed the ticket that her family had given her and got it stamped accordingly; then, she was pointed off in the direction of the train she wanted, to Goldenrod City of Johto. "Hurry, though! The train leaves in a few minutes," the man warned, sending a panicked M.A. dashing off, practically leaving a trail of dust behind her. The ticket-man chuckled before getting back to sorting his papers.

She made it in time, settling herself comfortably in an empty row and stretching herself out while yawning. Overhead, a clear and present voice announced that they'd reach the destination by early morning; and so, M.A. promptly got out a pillow and let her exhausted self fall to sleep into a world of dreams.

The two trainers both gave a sort of nervous chuckle; they both knew that paralysis was a dangerous ailment. The fact that both of them were paralyzed could mean that this battle would last a while.

"Try a Leech Seed!" Nora called encouragingly, to which her Ivysaur responded by making a muffled sort of cry. It couldn't move.

Having a good opportunity to swing things in his favor, Keegan (also very encouragingly) issued a command to his Pokemon. "Sludge Bomb!" Loki's response to the order was no more effective than Ivysaur's blank stare; the Arbok made a strangled noise and fell over, blinking stupidly at its equally immobile counterpart across from him.

"This is..." Keegan started.

"...Not good," Nora finished.

Hearing the battle across from him Dante glanced over to see Keegan in a battle as well and smirked slightly at that. "Good luck there." He muttered to himself before turning his attention back to the battle at hand. "Kenny hit it with a Shadow Ball attack." Dante comanded, starting to get into the battle and having to remind himself he was a 'girl'. The small ghost pokemon nodded happy to do that. The icy ball began to form in the ghosts hands before shooting out and landing another hit on the Beauties Tangela.

"Noo! Tangela use your Poison Powder attack!" She comanded hoping that she might be able to do some damage to the other pokemon since the Double Team didn't look like it would be letting up soon. Unfortunatly the confusion didn't let that happen like the Beauty wanted. While Poison Powder was released it was released on the Tangela itself. It was a good thing that the Tangela was immune to its own poison. "This is getting annoying! Come on Tangela shake off that confusion." She shouted frusterated at the pokemon. The shout seemed to do the trick as a look of clarity appeared on the grass pokemon's face again.

"So it isn't confused anymore. Kenny use Double Team again." He comanded with a smirk as more clones of the ghost pokemon started to appear. All of the clones moved at the same time as the orriginal making it impossible to tell them appart.

"Come out and help us Lock!" Summer said letting her mankey out of her pokeball. "You two go ahead. I will explain the situation to them." Summer said kneeling down so she was eye to eye with Cole and Lock. "Cool. I will see you guys later." Z said turning aorund and waving over his shoulder as he headed into the city. "See ya." Lyn said casually as she walke off in the oposite direction to route 11.

"Shino keep your eyes peeled for any signs of a drowzee." Z said looking at the small bug pokemon on his shoulder. Shino made a small chirp sound as he fully activated his eyes. Becasue of his compacteyes ability he had great eyesight. Suddenly a high pitched beeping sound came from his belt. He was confused for a second before he remembered his new pokenav. He took it out and the caller Id on the screen said that it was someone named Rainbow. Z didn't know anyone by that name and was confused. He pressed the talk button and put it to his ear. "Umm hello?" Z said kind of confused. "Hello Z it's Dante." A very familiar voice said through the speaker. Z mentally smacked himself on the head for not remembering that rainbow was Dante's codename.

"All right Edge you know how to start this battle off." Toph said with a smirk. Edge nodded and dropped into the familiar pace of his Swords Dance glowing slightly as his all ready impressive attack power was boosted.

"Umm... Uhhhh...P-pinsir use your... ummm Focus Energy?" The boy across from Toph said shakily. The Pinsir looked back at his trainer trying to give him a comforting look before it put itself in a battle stance and focused on his enemy before him.

'What’s up with this kid. Doesn't he have some sort of a back bone?' Toph thought before pushing it to the side. After all it was an advantage that she would exploit. "All right Edge now lets try your new move. Use Brick Break now!" Edge grinned and launched himself forward arm pulled backward in ready to punch.

"Ummmm use Bind Pinsir?" The kid said as if he wasn't sure of himself. The Pinsir nodded and standing his ground to the charging white Zangoose. Before Edge could land the blow the large claw like attachments on the bug pokemon's head snapped shut around him. Giving an indignant squawk Edge glared at the bug pokemon that was holding it and squirmed around doing his best to free himself.

Toph sensing that something had gone wrong frowned slightly as she felt her pokemon struggle in the others grasp. "Edge if you can use Slash!" She ordered. Upon hearing her order Edge franticly tried to free his arm. After a second he succeeded and raising an arm he lashed out at the bug pokemon before him with his razor sharp claws.

Keegan frowned slightly, raising his fingertips to his chin. He wasn't sure what to do, and he didn't know if the paralysis would wear off in time. The two trainers watched their Pokemon with a mixture of amusement and ire. Nora scratched her head, looking just as perplexed as Keegan felt.

"Um, Ivysaur, try your Leech Seed again," Nora urged, faltering a little bit as her Pokemon failed to comply.

"Loki, wanna try a bite?" Keegan asked flatly. Loki just lay there, looking blankly forward. "Maybe we should call it a draw?" Keegan suggested, looking from his Arbok to Nora's Ivysaur with dismay.

Just then, Loki sprang up, his fangs bared. He moved rather quickly for a Pokemon that had just been paralyzed a moment ago, sinking his fangs into the Ivysaur's foreleg. The grass Pokemon let out a howl, jumping back and forcing the cobra to lose his grip. The Ivysaur's movements were staggered, and easily predictable. Loki, however, moved fluidly, loose and limber.

"You sly devil," Keegan chuckled, shaking his head and pushing his hair out of his eyes. "You were just playing coy!" Indeed it was true; Loki had managed to avoid inhaling most of the Stun Spore, and he'd been faking it the whole time. The surprise attack had been most effective, as two angry puncture marks stood out on the Ivysaur's leg.

"Grrr! Stop with the stupid clones!" The beauty shouted throwing a minor tantrum. "All right Tangela use Vine Whip again on this time attack all the clones that you see!" She comanded angrily. The grass pokemon nodded and all of a sudden tons of vines shot out of the small pokemon hitting all the clones including the real Kenny. Luckily for Kenny he had high defense and special defense, that and the fact that Tangela wasn't the best pokemon ever.

"All right then. I am sick of this battle and I want to go after Erika now! Kenny lets try another Ice Beam attack." Dante ordered. Since it didn't take long for Kenny to recover from the attack he started to form another Ice Ball in his hand and shot the attack at the Tangela. While the attack wasn't enough to knock the pokemon out it did have another interesting effect. The Tagela seemed to have become frozen solid. "Huh... Well.... Do you have any Ice Heal's on you?" Dante asked as he looked across at the now blue grass pokemon.

"Umm no..." The beauty said looking at her frozen pokemon. Sighing once and flipping her hair the beauty took out her pokeball and recalled the frozen pokemon. She saw no point in continueing this now. "You win... Go ahead and battle Erika she is right over there." She said pointing to a pretty woman in a kimono.

"Thanks." Dante said kinda feeling like this was a hollow victory. Reminding himself to go pick up an Ice Heal after this incase this ever happened to him he turned to Kenny. "You did a great job. I think I am going to use you in more battles from now on." He said with a small smile. The ghost pokemon just had a happy look on his skull face and flew around him a few times. "All right, lets go to Erika now." He said as he put Kenny back into his pokeball.

"You better not use me first." Meowth grumbled from Dante's shoulder. He had been suspiciously silent through the other battle.

"How about second?" Dante asked teasingly as he walked over to Erika. "Hello Erika, I would like to challange you to a gym battle." He said trying his best to maintain his feminine voice and sound formidable at the same time.

With the Bind still around Edge the Pinsir was still able to move, it had arms after all. Ignoring the pain that it felt at the Slash that the Zangoose had landed on it the Pinsir waited for a comand by his trainer. "Ummm Pinsir use your Sisemic Toss?" The kid comanded feeling a bit more confident in himself. The Pinsir gave a mighty cry and jumping up into the air he turned around and aiming Edge at the ground they started to dive.

Feeling her pokemon leave the ground Toph grew slightly uncomfertable not knowing exactly what to do. "Edge.... use your Counter!" She ordered just in time. While flying through the air Edge heard his trainers comand and closing his eyes he felt himself start to gather the power to counter the other pokemon's move as soon as they landed. It would hurt and might even knock him out but he was prepaired to do this. Upon landing on the ground Edge didn't even allow himself to feel the pain of impact slow him down as he let loose a powerful Counter that sent both pokemon flying back. Edge was unable to adjust his course and actually hit Toph knocking them both down. The Pinsir though wasn't in any better shape and while not hitting his trainer it didn't get back up either. The match ended in a draw.

Nora's expression didn't mirror Keegan's surprise in the slightest. Instead, her brow was furrowed in anger, and she shot Keegan a nasty look as she placed both hands on her hips. "Playing dirty isn't very ladylike," she said indignantly. "In fact, it's exactly something a boy would do!"

Keegan merely shrugged, and pretended to dust his hands off on his slacks. "It would seem that poor sportsmanship is also quite unladylike." He kept his tone raised several octaves, and smiled innocently at Nora. "And besides, it wasn't my idea for him to act in such a dreadful manner. Loki, let's end this. Sludge Bomb!"

The cobra Pokemon rose up again, his pronged tongue tasting the air. A hint of malice gleamed in the snake's eyes as he sensed the helpless Ivysaur's fear, and felt no shame as he coughed up the blob of poisonous goo and spat it at the grass Pokemon, covering in in a toxic sludge. Nora began to whimper slightly, and her bottom lip quivered. She recalled her Ivysaur and glared once at Keegan before running from sight.

"Geez, what is it with me and making girls cry lately?" he sighed, turning back to Loki, who was doing a sort of dance in celebration of his victory. "Loki, great job," the boy said proudly, walking towards the Arbok. Loki arched his neck to look at him, giving him a toothy grin as he lashed his long tail along the ground, sweeping Keegan off his feet and forcing him to land flat on his back with a painful thud. Keegan hadn't enough time to stop the room from spinning before Loki slithered over to him, making a hissing noise that sounded like snakelike laughter. "Jerk," Keegan muttered, raising a hand and pushing the cobra's nose out of his face. "Ugh, toxic breath..."

Mike gave an exaggerated shrug, clearly faking. "I don't know," He said, smiling at Napalm. "Maybe it's because Fire Pokemon are the best?" The boy had always liked Fire types, a fact he practically bludgeoned his friends with over the course of their time together. He brought himself back into the conversation at the mention of the 'Slayer'. To be honest, he didn't particularly care about it one way or another. "If he shows up to me, I'll roast him." Brushing away the attempted warning, Mike picked Napalm back up. "I'm on my way to Mount Moon." He said simply. "Walk and talk."

Noting now that Dante's battle was finished too, a mighty struggle ensued as Keegan tried to get up. Loki thought it would be great fun to wrap his coils around his trainer's body, initiating a rather one-sided wrestling match. At one point, Keegan was sure that Loki was actually going to constrict him to death and then consume him, but he soon realized this wasn't the case as the Arbok gave Keegan a gentle nudge.

"That's nice, Loki. You're wonderful. Now let me go!" Keegan growled, trying once again to break free of the Arbok's powerful hold. Seeing Dante trek off towards the leader, Loki followed, dragging a rather defeated looking Keegan along with him.

With the last of his strenght Edge managed to reach over to Toph's belt and push the button to his pokeball in order to recall himself. Feeling Edge recall himself Toph sat up and picked out his pokeball and heald it for a moment suprised at the outcome of this battle. Pushing herself up off the ground she watched the trainer across from her put his own pokemon back inside his own pokeball for a moment before she decided she didn't want to talk to the trainer across from her and took off in the direction she was going before hoping that there was a pokemon center in that direction.

Running past startled trainers who gave her a weird look as she dashed by her bare feet hitting the ground hard. Lucky for her there was a pokemon center outside of the enterance to Mnt. Moon. Stepping through the sliding glass doors her breath coming to her a bit hard from her run. Going up to the counter she placed Edge's pokeball down on it. "Nurse Joy my Zangoose got hurt would you please heal it?" She asked for once being somewhat polite.

The Nurse took one look at her and smiled. "Of course I will sweetie. Just give me a moment." She said as she took the pokeball from the counter and set it on the machine. After a few moments a small bing was heard and Edge was good as new. Nurse Joy reached over to take the pokeball off of the machine and was startled when it burst open as Edge let himself out.

Elekid took this opprotunity to stretch out a bit. The HootHoot was standing there, unable to move and unleash an attack. Kilik laughed at this display (Elekid was doing lunges to stretch his legs). "I take it you want to do Quick Attack?" There was an affirmative nod from the plug and Kilik ordered the attack.

"Elekii!!" he cried out, dashing forward in a brilliant display of speed. A white streak followed the yellow blur that was his Elekid. Suddenly, the bird opponent was down on the ground, still crackling with electricity. Kilik had a blinked and missed it. Elekid, on the other hand, was standing behind his opposition with a triumphant smile on his face.

"Quick! Hit it with a Thunderpunch!" In a flash, Elekid was back into the battle, pulling his fist back once again.

HootHoot squwaked and hopped up onto its own foot. The plug's attack connected, but he suddenly found himself on the ground. In the midst, HootHoot managed a weak Tackle attack onto the plug. Elekid was face down and he stood up slowly. HootHoot let out another hoot. It was still aching to battle.
