I play tenor and alto. My altos are an old martin...and a selmer...as for tenor...i play a Yamaha and my dream horn is a cannonball black ice tenor...i wanna learn sopranno so bad tho.

I started playing the bari sax- It is definitely a great instrument!
This year, my teacher gave me an alto to play at home- and I like playing that too.
What really struck me was the difference between pressure for the two instruments. -Maybe it was because i started my alto right away on a 3 1/2 reed xD

-j e l i j e l i- I started playing the bari sax- It is definitely a great instrument! This year, my teacher gave me an alto to play at home- and I like playing that too. What really struck me was the difference between pressure for the two instruments. -Maybe it was because i started my alto right away on a 3 1/2 reed xD Depending on what kind of music your playing you might wanna go back to a 3. I used to play 4 1/2's and 5's until my private instructor got me back to lighter reeds. They work great for marchingband but not when your playing in symphonic or jazzband.

On a completely random note, I had to carry a tenor sax home today...I'm too weak for this. :[ I'm playing it for jazz band, but it sounds really bad...it's part me, part the instrument (my friend played it last year- it sucks xd ). There's another tenor that someone else is playing...it's a selmer. Looks really bad, but sounds pretty nice. Mine looks kind of nice, but sounds baaaad. Oh, how I love school instruments...

dragonsix there was not one and i think there should be one. just say which type of sax you play. i play the alto, tenor, and bari.^.^ so yeah I am back. Been gone from here for a long time. yeah. That was all I wanted to say. I am thinking of making a banner. ^^ if you have any ideas for it please don't be shy in telling me. XD~Rules~

Looks like i'll be playing lead alto for this upcoming gig.
I"m so used to playing first tenor in jazzband and i was very reluctant to give teh book to another person but oh well. We need to find a new good lead alto player before i can switch back to tenor. I miss playing all the tenor features though crying
