Click. Click. Click.
Remy's leather shoes tapped out cheerfully against the concrete as he stepped towards the tavern. The Vestal, was it called? Ms. Vii seemed to run a business here, and the creature had heard that many dropped by here when not duking it out in the Arena.
And being a nosy, and rather sociable person, he had decided to grace the tavern with his presence.

Unfortunately.
There seemed to be only two... humans? Here.

"Good day." His voice was mild as he beckoned to the bartender, nodding towards the two. "Water, please." He paused for a moment. He had hit a losing streak recently. Maybe...
"Would you mind getting these two ladies a drink of their choice?" He pointed towards the two. "Thank you." Maybe doing something good would rectify his terrible luck. His tail curled around his leg pensievely as he took a seat at the bar. Well, a small good thing might reap many rewards.

Skutz looked up at the bartender with her favorite drink, "compliments of the gentleman," he said pointing to Remy. She mulled for a bit and closed her book before drinking her beverage. "It's always good..." she said to herself then looked at the gentleman and walked over, "you seem familiar..." Skutz took a seat next to him and reopened her book, waiting for a reply.

Remy paused, the glass of water hovering before his lips.
' Maybe. Have we met in the Arena? ' Remy smiled brightly at her, and took a long sip from his glass. They probably hadn't met before, he concluded mildly. Most people didn't seem to have a great liking of him after he ran into them during battle. Then again, it was battle... What was he supposed to do?
Well, Remy. Maybe you shouldn't have tried to eat their soul.
' What book are you reading? ' A former recorder - Remy always had an interest in the written word. He tried to straighten himself even further, trying to peep at the words on the pages of the books Skutz carried.

Emma reentered the Waning Vestal quietly, with her nose in a book as she materialized at the bar.

Returning from the kitchen with a plate of steaks that appeared to have touched the grill just long enough for faint lines to sear the bovine meat. The cheshire grin on her wolfish face was filled pure joy as she walked around the bar to assume a seat near Lady Emma and her recent aquaintance Remy.
With a nod to them both she procured the knife and fork and began cutting through the first slab.

"You seem happy."

Emma smiled warmly at Vii, looking up from her book for a moment.

"Oh yes. I am very happy. I finally discovered what I have been craving." She mumbled through hearty bites.
"Whatcha reading?" She asked after finishing her first slab and continuing onto her second without much hesitation.

"Oddly enough, Ovid's Metamorphoses. Rather appropriate considering your recent change, don't you think?"

Emma displayed the spine to Vii, bearing the title and author's name.

The contents were entirely in Latin.

"That is a fantastic selection, I've read the translated version but I'm sure its nothing compared to it's orign." She sniffed the book as if she were reading it through her olfactory sense.
"I don't feel much like a butterfly, more like a fur covered internal roller coaster, but all kidding aside, that is a very appropriate selection." With a gulp of milk Vii put her fork and knife down to face the Lady, "would you like some?" A paw pointed to the plate and the three remaining rib-eyes steaming in their own juices.

"The original text is something indeed." Emma mused, putting Ovid aside temporarily. "And as much as I would like to accept, I dined before arriving. Thank you for the offer, though."

"Ah well, maybe another time. You probably don't like yours quite this rare anyhow." Vii mused with a grin and a slow wag of her puffy tail.
"I don't suppose your magic might encompass dreams or perhaps just an interpretation, does it?" It was clear on the canine's face that she valued Emma's expansive knowledge in all things supernatural.

Emma looked quizzically at Vii. "You've hit upon a field of my expertise." The World of Dreams was a well-known stalking ground to her. It was how she had met (and briefly courted) Edgar Allen Poe.

"Really? Excellent!" The werewolf bounced excitedly on her stool as the words came rushing out.
"Briefly after being bitten I had a dream I was being held captive by the devil or a demon of sorts. The wolf that bit me appeared and transformed into a man, and my captor merely taunted me, no torture, no explanation, nothing. Do you suppose I could have been tapping into another place, or was it nothing more than my sub conscious giving meaning to the bite?" With a breath she gulped another bit of her milk to wet her parched mouth.

Emma chose her words carefully. "I would have to investigate further to know for sure, but there are a few possibilities. First, it could be your subconscious. Nothing more, nothing less. Second, your mind could have reached out to the magical field that surrounds you and created your own pocket-universe in which these things occured. Thirdly, an outside force acting upon your mind. But, as I said, I would have to do further research to know for sure."

"Research? What manner of research can be done with a dream?" She asked with a confused expression.
