((So it wasn't just me who noticed that? xd xd

Also, to make things more interesting, heres a song that generally fits how I imagine this scene -I'm listening to it as I'm writing this post. 3nodding ))

Layla briefly turned around once the bright flash caught her attention, noticing Maggie not too far behind her. 'Another visitor? But how? Unless...unless shes with Sentinel and is trying to stop me!' Strands of Novias energy started concentrate themselves around Layla, gradually lifting her off the ground to where she was floating above the path. She glided gracefully towards Maggie, stopping just a few feet away from the alien. Layla's face was almost completely shadowed from this angle, only her bright red eyes could be seen glaring down at Maggie. The Novias energy around her started to turn to that crimson color again, then began to form itself into a glyph around Layla. "All that stand in my way shall perish! The forgotten realm of Nova is mine to tread, and no others are meant to be here! Leave now, or face the consequences." Layla warned the strange visitor, her voice seemed to echo with an ominous quality to it.

Armagedas stood alert behind Layla, it's eyes gleamed with bright golden pupils amongst the crimson, the blue Shivasai crystal embedded in it's chest resonated with the golden Novias energy. Such energies combined all in one vessel were certainly awe inspiring. Armagedas wasn't merely in imitation of power, it was the real deal. True perfection. The dragon focused on Maggie, it recognized her energy signature from earlier, but it awaited Layla's instruction to attack or not.

And her final words were...

"((I've been reading too much Manga lately...I can easily see that scene that I just started up in a Manga somewhere... xd )) "

And then...she faded to darkness.

((Interesting... listening to the song. I think it fits quite well. Shall we enter epic fight? Magical Layla and awesome dragon versus magical Maggie and awesome poltergeist? [I'm actually tempted to say 'psychogeist,' even though that isn't a word xDD]))

Maggie wrenched her face from looking at the ground, glancing up at the imposing, floating figure above her. "You... think you are perfection...?" She asked vaguely, her eyes hazed and unfocused. If the Armagedas machine was really all that it was supposed to be, it would now be registering an alarming amount of energy foreign to Maggie accumulating in her body.

But this wasn't the only thing happening in her body. Somehow, possibly a combination of her exhaustion, her emotional trauma, and the effects of the surrounding environment all affecting her, the purple aura - which was not visible yet - seemed to be accumulating into its own being... still inside Maggie. But this being was less monstrous and more... humanoid.

When she spoke, it was no longer Maggie's voice or conscious.

"You think I don't know that!?" The voice screamed. It was actually not at high volume, but as if a recording of someone screaming was taken and edited to have a lesser volume, but still sounding as if screaming.

"Insignificant mortal!" the voice continued to quietly scream, "I am Reshietta - the Forgotten One! I am dead! You cannot kill me!"

Suddenly, without prompting from an evidently conscious but out-of-control Maggie, her body rose into the air as well, but as if it were being lifted by an invisible hand clutching at her collar.

A burst of ultraviolet light swept from the body, suddenly registering the world dull of color - everything was given a strange, grayish tint, and only the purple aura that was now visible retained its shade, hue and intensity.

"I am Shh'reka!" The voice once again screamed, but it now came from the vaguely humanoid-shaped, purple aura. Then Maggie was dropped, and the aura was left freestanding - or floating, as it were.

A huge roar that penetrated every spectrum of sound reverberated throughout the golden realm, which looked dull and ugly inside the grayish void that the purple being - Shh'reka - had opened. The void of vibrance seemed to give its - extremely vibrant - aura strength and power.

Then, it attacked. Somehow, for some reason, this aura had been provoked and invoked, by the location.

A huge fist of ultraviolet energy swept down at Layla, seeking to crush her. The humanoid figure was about twice as large as an ordinary human, though its edges - its outlines - were blurred and wavering, causing it to only seem somewhat humanoid.

((Nice new term xD -it should be in a dictionary! scream ))

The crimson red energy around Layla grew darker and more concentrated of a red, the shade of blood. Layla rose even further into the sky, the glyph floated just above her head, directed towards the purple aura's center. "Armagedas!! Now!!" Layla let herself drop to the ground, leaving behind the red glyph in the sky for Armagedas.

The golden dragon leapt forward, it's own brilliant glyph of blue, gold, and crimson formed in front of it's chest. The blue Shivasai crystal blasted forth a powerful ray of light through the dragon's varicolored glyph, thick strands of Novias energy combined with the ray, then amplified tenfold with the crimson energy of Layla's glyph. Armagedas spread it's giant metallic wings, little orbs of light were concentrated on the tips. The dragon let forth the power of the little orbs towards the entity to join the first blast, small they may be, but lack in power they do not. Armagedas rushed towards Layla afterward, defensively standing in front of her, it's wings already held the charge for another strike if need be.

((So let me get this straight - Layla ducks, then dragon-dude jumps up and fires powerful multi-blast before jumping back in front of Layla to guard. Got it.))

Indiscernible screaming emitted from the psychogeist, as it punched the energy blast and then exploded into a huge wave of aura, sweeping across the entirety of the plane they were standing on before materializing on the opposite side, behind Layla and Armagedas.

With a ferocious roar, the psychogeist simply rushed forward, progressing at an unimaginable speed, with the intent of simply crushing the two with its sheer power.

Maggie was muttering again, to herself, and was again on her knees. She was clutching a small object - a trinket, really - in both her hands, and was fevered and nervous as she muttered.

Slowly, her normally blue, crystal-clear eyes, which were sometimes glazed over with white to show her trance-like state, now became engulfed in a purple glaze of sorts. But Maggie did nothing but rest on her knees, didn't even watch the battle ensuing.

((XD... anyone ever notice how the title of this RP says at the end, "Not Accepted," instead of "Not Accepting?" xDDD))

SHUT UP! scream
It... it was a joke! Ha ha! Because Nina and were crew are not accepted by the empire... yeah... that'll do...

If I made things confusing, then just say Mariel turned invisible and snuck past the elf guy... she's still on the ship in stealth mode... Nolan can move on without her. I'll find a way to shove her back into the story. If anyone is looking for Nina, just say she's on the bridge in her captain's chair. You may speak for her, but try not to make her sound too stupid.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2008 10:06 am

Jad nervously smiled, "Actually... I kinda hired Nina... so the Atlantis personnel are kinda my personnel... but you have permission to board my ship..."

---

Not too far away from the battle between psychogeist and dragon-robot-thing, a machine stirred. Humanoid in appearance, it mimicked the blueish exoskeleton in Sentinel, but this one was more... streamlined. almost like a much more advanced version of the exoskeleton, but that wasn't possible, was it? Quietly, it moved towards the battle.

Another machine also began to move towards the battle. This one was far more familiar. In fact, it looked almost like MAI... That is, it looked like a far more dangerous version of MAI. It exchanged glances with the exoskeleton-like machine.

"So... You still exist..." The armored one said.

"This is a crossroads. one of us will cease to be at the end of it, but as of now, both endings exist." The MAI-like machine replied.

"Shrodinger's Cat best describes the situation."

"I will make sure Layla destroys you, Infinity."

"That has yet to be seen, C-MAI. Her decision will either way lead to the deaths of millions. However, if she allows history to take it's proper course, your mission will be unfullfilled, nay, nonexistant."

"And that would leave you to complete it."

"I would not take your mission up for you, C-MAI. I'm not a murderer like you."

"You realize, Infinity, that there is currently a paradox?"

"Time travel will make such things. I have waited, unlike you, for Layla's arrival. you pop in to kill her after the choice is made, you need only make sure she chooses the right one, since we cannot affect the Novias energies..."

"We are of the same creator-"

"Don't place me in the same place as you! You are a weapon, I am an artifical being!"

"Only because you are weak."

"Weak? I wield more power than you can compute. You only fail to see it."

The two machines walked towards the battle.

(what's Sci-Fi if a little time travel isn't thrown in?)

DAI was alone. Everything seemed to flow around it, in it's semblance of a mind. information, time, life itself. It was actually a mistake that DAI could see it. He told noone... It was why he was so impossibly accurate. outside Erin struggled to get in, but DAI kept her locked out. If she made it in too soon, DAI knew that she would destroy him and activate KAMI... who, without his guidance, would go insane and slaughter the Sentinel staff, then it would go from world to world, killing all life until destroyed... then, all it knew would be transmitted to MAI 2.0, and she would start up the same mission, only enhancing herself up to a point where she became C-MAI... An equal to the unmade Infinity unit, but insane... and able to tap into chronal energy... A time-travelling killing machine, as opposed to the more controlled and thoughtful Infinity unit.

(Actually I have a plan. If Layla keeps Infinity from being made, C-MAI will be created as a result, using a system that already exists. C-MAI won't be made if DAI exists, so stopping infinity's creation means killing DAI, allowing C-MAI to be made, since DAI cannot interpret commands and purposes for the units under him if he's destroyed. Infinity, however, is not at all what Layla thinks he is. in fact, C-MAI will act like she thinks Infinity will. Infinity is DAI. DAI is made to think out and calculate the best solution, so Infinity is far more controlled and sane than C-MAI.)

Nolan emitted a sigh and rubbed his temples vigorously. "Nina Armstrong is a captain of an Imperial ship. She is set in contract to us, making any obligations to other authorities null and void when conflicting with the Empire's agenda. We shall board... and hopefully, straighten these things out."

Slowly, with caution (sense running into a ship about ten times as large, or so, would be an extremely bad idea), Nolan maneuvered Mariel's ship to dock with Jad's ship.

((Note that he says 'we,' but it is an unmanned ship, basically. It's only him that will enter the ship, raising questions any observant participants to the current conversation would note.))

Maggie clutched her head between her hands, as if trying to block out the vicious echoes of combat and fighting. She was shivering - in pain, afraid.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2008 2:53 pm

Jad seemed not to notice, and left the bridge to greet his visitor.

Kaito stood alone, "...We?" he suddenly realized the room was empty and left for the bay.

---

C-MAI and Infinity both silently walked closer towards the battle. Enemies to each other, but unable to touch. Material to everything but each other.

(technically it's because neither can exist with the other one. Being unable to do an action to the other prevents a paradox. they are two possible futures of the same universe, branching off from this point. when Layla makes the choice, the other one will be forced back into the universe where she made the opposite one.)

((Ah, yes, but you see, there is also a twist to that plan as well, if Erin and Jeremy were to be killed before said action commences, then DAI will continue to exist and neither robot will be built unless done by Layla. However, Sentinel would likely become suspicious of Erin's sudden murder, and as a defensive action, the Myna/MAI/Infinity projects would probably be transferred to another division for further development. Though, the outcome of this sequence would most likely occur with varied results, for without DAI or any of the original engineers/creators to guide along the project, they would most likely come out with an insuperior product in which would be easily destroyed by Armagedas or Rosa with her new enhanced form.

God...I feel like a major dork right now...@_@))

Armagedas leapt forward towards the psychogeist once it realized it's new location (almost too late). The giant dragon collided with the purple force, their strengths seemed to be fairly evenly matched in battle, though Armagedas' unusual armor material probably gave it a slight advantage. "Mistress Layla, more targets are approaching from that direction..." Armagedas warned her, briefly pointing it's nose in the direction of the two robots before tackling the aura again.

Layla nodded to her robotic ally, then made her way towards Maggie, just staring, observing. "...You're the source of that beast...eliminate the source, and the rest will desist on its own..." Layla held out her arm to the side, Novias energy started to form itself into an energy blade around her arm. "I apologize, but this must be done!"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2008 3:29 pm

(Erin and Jeremy will already be pulled from the project... more scientists will work on it instead. DAI is the deciding factor, as KAMI is fully functional, and will activate only if A: DAI activates it, or B: DAI ceases functioning. If A occurs (layla does not change the course of time) Infinity is made, If B occurs, C-MAI is made. DAI creates Infinity... he just makes the scientists working with him think they did, whereas C-MAI is Erin's system that already exists, running on default. let's not forget the lone MAI unit chasing Rosa.)

The robots moved into the battlefield. C-MAI drew a weapon, but infinity stood stoically.

Infinity spoke. The voice was familiar, in fact, it was DAI's vocal sound. Infinity never changed how it sounded.

"Layla, you must not go through with this action."

C-MAI gave a smirk, "Go ahead and do what you came here to do. Why would you listen to him anyways? after all, you came to destroy the Infinity unit, and it came on it's own to convince you otherwise!" She pointed at Infinity. C-MAI had, strangely, made her voice sound exactly like Kira's.

Maggie heard Layla's stated logic, then burst out in spontaneous, hysterical laughter. "Oh... oh God yes," she cried, but in laughter, "do that. Put me out of my misery; destroy me, so I don't have to live with that... that entity, any longer. Do it! It won't stop the beast... I'm just a vessel... but only for its entrance and exit. You kill me, you will not be able to disperse it."

However, there was another idea; a vague outline of a plan, forming in Maggie's mind. She liked it. "Look - I'm your ally. Anything that thing wants to kill - I want to help keep alive. If you manage to kill it, it will just disperse... and come back to me. It could come back immediately, if it wanted to."

The psychogeist roared, having crashed into the dragon head-on. It brought its arms - both each larger than the dragon by themselves - to crush the dragon from either side, unyielding in its ferocious propulsion."

"But," Maggie continued, "if you disperse it... and then, I immediately close myself to it... should be too weak to wrench control away from me, being 'dead' and all... I could resist... just let it fade into nothingness...."

There was, of course, something very wrong about this plan, something that would go horribly awry, but Maggie didn't know that. She was all but certain of what she could do, now. Images of Blake and Marth filled her head. She wanted to see them, again, one day. Wait - she wanted to see them? Just earlier, she'd wanted to get as far away as possible - why was she suddenly wanting the exact opposite?

Whatever might go wrong with the plan, it wouldn't be because the monster was unable to be dispersed, or because Maggie would not be able to resist its power, but would actually have something to do with the Novias stream... all around them....

Of course, if Maggie died, then the monster would be indeed immortal (so to speak) - because no avenue of dissipation would exist for it. And Maggie really would cherish death, at the moment - or she would have, until the thoughts of her comrades came unwillingly to her mind.

...Why do I miss them, so?

((Previous post by Jad ignored, since I started typing it before he posted. I'd like for this post to happen before the two robots start speaking to Layla, but this will work even if that isn't allowed.))
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2008 3:41 pm

(I wouldn't mind that... My time is almost up...)

His statement made, Infinity looked up at the psychogeist, "Creature of energy. nonphysical. Power level comparable to... list is enormous. A supernova comes to mind."

"You don't have a mind. You are a machine."

"I transcended that label a long time ago, C-MAI. Layla, If you destroy the lifeform in front of you, you will destroy that creature's weakness."

"I have to agree with Infinity..." C-MAI said begrudgingly.

((Ooh...C-MAI just did a very bad move for itself right there by sounding like Kira... xd ))

Layla stopped herself from trying to kill Maggie, but still held the blade of energy. She stared down at the ground, her crimson eyes gradually faded back to their normal icy blue. Layla turned around, her back facing Maggie now. She watched as the powerful creature "smashed" Armagedas, and didn't even react at all when Armagedas suddenly burst free from it's grasp and into the sky. Her expression held that of frustration and regret, almost everything bad thats happening right now was originally caused by her in one giant chain-reaction. And then, the damn robots had to enter this all as well, only more crap that was Layla's fault. "Stop...NOW! Stop it!! STOP IT ALL!!!!" Layla shouted out to presumably no one, or maybe everyone? Huge columns of Novias energy suddenly burst out of the golden ground, the more Layla shouted, the more energy leaked out around her. Layla let herself drop to the ground on her hands and knees, staring down at the ground, afraid to confront her mistakes. Layla glanced up at the two robots, then looked back to Armagedas whom was only damaging the planet around it's opponent. The very thought of all the Mynas and whatnot back on Sentinel crossed her mind again, which only made her feel nauseated and even more frustrated. "...I wont choose...I refuse to choose from things that should never exist!" Layla stood up again finally, she held out her arms and directed all of the immense amounts of energy around her into the sky. The streams and columns all went where she directed them, into the sky and forming something above them...a grid? No, a web, the Novias web seen on the Xaphnis Matyr. "I'll end this all...here and now! Neither of you monsters will come into existence, and Armagedas will have never been found! Kira, Damien, they knew what they were doing when they built Rosa. I only corrupted what they created...I'm a mere demon...everything I touch turns to corruption and destruction..." Layla finally stopped directing the web once it finished forming in the sky, she stared up at one tiny little strand in particular on the seemingly infinite web. It was Layla's thread, her life on the grid. "...And I will be the very person to stop my own madness. None of this can ever happen...if I never existed in the first place!"

~

After leaving the cavern with a Shivasai crystal, Vexis and Gunther had started back towards Exias for the time being. Vexis stopped suddenly, looking up at the nighttime sky. The stars seemed to be exceptionally bright tonight, except for one -one star in the vast sky caught Vexis' eye, it was gradually fading. Vexis' eyes grew wide at the very sight, someone was messing with the Novias stream...and erasing themself from the web. "No...not another one...not another life being taken away..." Vexis felt herself beginning to tear up already, she didn't even know the person and yet she ends up sad, the part of Vexis that she hated most about herself. '...I can't help everyone...no one can help everyone...so why do I still feel sorrow?'

"Vexis...this isn't the time to worry about her, that woman must have a good reason for her actions. Besides, its got nothing to do with you anyway, so lets just get back to Exias..." Gunther said surprisingly softly, he knew this kind of thing wasn't easy for Vexis to get over, but she needed to learn how.
