Anatoly clumsily elbowed Nathan's face, then dropped to throw the steel casing at Nathan's shin.

Nathan more or less avoided a hard hard elbow to his face, but had to skip to dodge the steel, and tripped and fell, bouncing off the wall on the way down. He struck at Anatoly's shin again with a fireball, this time with his arm, trying to roll to a place he could get up from.

Anatoly jumped the fireball and tried to land on Nathan.

It worked; Nathan was rather chagrined by this and attempted to light Anatoly's pants on fire with a quick track. It ought to have worked. It was dangerous, but if he lit on fire he'd put it out.

Anna was outside where Crash and Farley were struggling; she ran over and when she was next to Crash Anna shut her eyes and focused hard, sending out a bubble shield that enclosed herself and Crash but made Farley bounce off. She hoped that her shield would hold out, at least long enough for Crash to get some sort of an advantage.

Anatoly threw a metal-encased hand at Nathan's face. Maybe if he knocked Nathan out, he could trace his ice to extinguish his goddamn pants. As it was, he certainly couldn't do anything about it.

Nathan twisted his head to avoid the blow, then lit Anatoly's shirt on fire. Burn, baby, burn. It was a close thing, though; he couldn't keep doing this much longer, he needed to get Anatoly off him.

With a wordless roar of anger and pain, Anatoly slammed both of his fists together at the level of Nathan's head.

Desperately, Nathan brought up his arms and untraced Steel, and it was gone. Anatoly's arms, however, were not. They slammed into Nathan's, and Nathan, being the weaker party, gave way more, slamming the front of his arms into his face. Remarkably, adrenaline carried the non-combatant through the bloody nose he had developed, long enough to form a fireball, wave it where Anatoly was on him, and start filling the (moving) elevator with smoke.

Anatoly immediately traced his Ice1 and extinguished the fires. Seeing the smoke filling the elevator, Anatoly shoved himself into a roll out of the elevator and defended the entrance, forcing Nathan to stay in the smoke.

Nathan encased his fists in steel - less than Anatoly, only enough to take the impact and be very solid - then charged out, still spreading smoke out of the elevator, throwing the hardest punch he could.

Anatoly relied on his typical counter, parrying the punch and launching Nathan sprawling to the ground. He ran up the stairs and scattered caltrops on the first five steps behind him.

((Getting cake, BRB.))
Nathan, having thrown himself, dropped like a stone on the ground without much effort. He untraced the Steel Mysticker and stood up; the smoke wasn't too thick for him to see the caltrops, so to prevent himself from having troubles with them he activated the Fire Mysticker and melted them, then went for the stairs after Anatoly. Enemies incapacitated first, then take care of other stuff.

((... I want cake. crying ))
As Nathan rounded the corner of a flight of stairs, he saw one more caltrop sitting on the edge of a stair.
((You get three guesses what it is.))
