She smiled, seeing how happy he was,"I like it here already."

Faust took a deep, shaky breath. "It's been such a long time..." he murmered. "I wonder if my house is still here?"

"Only one way to find out,"Netsubo said softly, taking his hand.

Faust squeezed her hand. "Mein Herr?" he asked the taxi driver. "I need to get to the house on Sonnenuntergangtaueschung Straße."
The taxi driver stiffened slightly. "What business do you have there?" he asked. "That's the old Faust mansion."
"I know," Faust said. "Does someone else own it now?"
"I wouldn't know..." the cab driver said vaguely. "But I'll take you there, if that's what you really want. Grim history, in that house..."

Netsubo sat back for the ride. There didn't seem anything for her to add to the conversation, plus she didn't know enough to say otherwise.
((if none of this makes sense, I appologize ^^;; ))

The cab driver, two hours later, stopped in front of a gated home. "Here we are. Good luck, with whatever you're here to find out..." Faust wordlessly paid the fare, and left the cab, walking towards the gate and weaving his fingers through the iron casting.

Netsubo followed him at a distance, wanting to give him some space.

Faust leaned his head against the bars. "I lived here," he said, after a moment. "It was my home, and now... now I've been a wanderer for twenty-odd years, just like Odysseus... home is like a stranger, to me."

"There must be something there that's familiar,"Netsubo murmured softly. Though, it probably would be really strange to go through something like that.

Faust absently tried the gate. It groaned open on rusty hinges. "Oh?" Faust asked. Trepidatiously, he stepped into what had once been his yard.

Netsubo stepped silently after him. The yard was overgrown and in disrepair, but it looked like it had once been beautiful.

As they passed through the garden, Faust let his touch linger places: a stone, a tree... a child's swing set. "I built this," he said. "With my own hands... you see how sturdy this is? Still standing."

Netsubo felt sad for him. Her heart went out to him, but something kept her from reaching out to touch him. It didn't seem right, like it might hurt him if she did.

He turned his gaze away from the swing set towards the house. "I wonder if we're trespassing," he mused.

"I don't think they'd cause trouble for us if we were, but I doubt we are...."Netsubo said softly. The two of them were more than capable of dealing with regular humans.
