Shouyin "Nothing special," Shou said as he caught the sliding glass in his hand and quickly downed it, grimacing slightly.
"Just heard a lot about him, wanna meet the man behind the legend," he coughed gruffly.
"Any idea where I might find him then?"
Dreadfully to the point, but the half-golem wasn't much for dancing around the issue. ::The bartender eyes Shou intensely. He was a portly middle aged guy , so he wasnt much of a threat, but he was trying to look pretty intense. After a few seconds of awkward staring he set the now dry cup down and just simply said.:: 3.50. ::And then picked up another cup. How rude!::

Shou shrugged and slid his glass back down the barkeep's way.
"So is that to say you don't know where he is? Oh, and I'll have another thanks," smile.

Nope.
::He said just as plainly as before, pour another glass full of whiskey, and sliding it back over to Shou. The man in the distance tapped the table two more times and whispered something which seemed to rhyme, something about "Patient", "maiden", "late...tent...loose ind?" He had a heavy lisp, so he really couldnt be made out too clearly. But the bare tender mixed the same drink and slipped poured it into his cup. And then he turned back to Shou.::
Its 2.50 for the drinks, 2.50 each....

"S'all good then. Like I said before though, d'you know what places he frequents? Stadium aside of course--- even just a bar, a restaurant, Hell, a -bookstore-," green eyes seemed to shine merrily despite the bar's dim lighting. This time Shou would take a short sip of the drink, then quickly down it as before, looking forwards and pausing as he let the heat of the alcohol settle in his stomach.
"And don't worry about the money friend, I'm not gonna run outta here without paying."
While still waiting for a response from the 'tender, Shouyin would look over to the mumbling man curiously.
"Sorry, what was that you said?"

::He smacked his parched lips together for a second, and then chugged the shot, spinning around in his barstool for a few seconds before finally continuing.::

::He probably had in mind that if said that rhyme and took a really triumphant pose afterward, that he'd be really cool. So as he exclaimed the word "gawd", he jumped out off his stool, and pointed triumphantly in the air. He was standing for a good half a second before falling over onto his side as the alcohol rushed to his head, and passing out cold.::
Tch...
::Was all the bartender had to say on the matter.::

"You said two-fifty, but whatever," he grinned and looked back at the drunk, listening intently. The guy's voice was almost intolerable, but what with all the mystery that woman in black and posed, the man's cryptic words felt a little more important. Of course then he just fell unconscious on the floor.
Letting out a soft laugh, Shou'd dig into his pockets, locating a pen and a few 6x4" graph-lined cards. He wrote a few things down in uncharacteristically neat handwriting, although it was a little chicken-scratchy:
he who is patient, finds the maiden (good things come to those who wait?)
the temple ancient / ancient temple, temple of latent
water god < Enki? water guardian
quoth the drunk, nevermore
Undoubtedly the words wouldn't make much sense to anyone but some sort of outside observer, tracking Shouyin through all of his adventures with a frightening sort of interest, but as long as the half-golem understood it then all was well.
"Welp, s'pose that's all I'm getting out of you fellows eh?" a question for none and all as the man put his things away, grabbed his wallet, and started fishing through it. "So how much altogether? I'm paying for that guy's drinks too," he pointed at the man lying passed out who'd taken the role of 'first source' in this little quest of Shou's.

::The bartender was feeling a bit annoyed, the 3.50 was supposed to be for the info, 2.50 for the drinks...but Shouyin had missed it entirely. Thats fine...it was only a way to get a bit of cash on the side. Nothing compared to what Shou had just stepped into. When the half golem mentioned taking the mans tab, the bartenders eyes practically lit up. He pulled out a reciept from beside the register about 4ft long, and just began entering numbers, over...and over...and over..and over, for about the next 2 or 3 minutes until he finally reached the end of the reciept, and said, in a bit of a more cheery tone.::
That'll be 287.25. Cash or credit?
::He was all about raking in a bit of extra gold. And this bum had been there from the night before, constantly re-ordering, and each time the same thing. The Bartender assumed he was trying to drown something rather big in a bottle, but he didnt bother to ask what.::

A large bubble of water lifts out of the water and floats toward Enki, the "skin" of the bubble hardening to ice to stop anything brok breaking in or out of it*
Now where do we go with this sample?

Ugh. "Erm..." Shou said as he fished through his wallet. That last job with the Brigade had scored him a bundle, but still, he was dishing money out left and right now. Sigh.
"Cash," the half-golem pulled out a good three hundred in twenties and slapped it on the table with a depressing/satisfying swish of bills brushing against each other. "The change is yours... y'sure you don't know anything?"
A little desperate, but our hero was hurtin' after spending all that dough.

Shouyin "The change is yours... y'sure you don't know anything?" ::He was all smiles and friendliness. Though his greedy side had him wondering wether or not he should have added a few "extra" drinks in. Shou never would have known. But alas, he had a moment of pure heartedness. And the few extra dollars kept his heart open for a moments beyond the time it took him to slide the 300 into the till. He had just enough "kindness" to say.:: 'Temples down the road before the shore. Ask the little girl. ::And then he promptly picked up another wet glass and started drying it, shaking his head in high annoyance at the drunk passed out on his floor. But, feeling entirely too unmotivated to actually help him.::

"W'alright! And all it took was three large. Thanks mate!" Shouyin grinned and pocketed his wallet, rather pleased that it'd only taken an extra twelve dollars and seventy-five cents to get the guy to talk. And this author would request that the audience refrain from spoiling his character's ignorant bliss.
Information gathered, the half-golem would exit the bar back onto the street, the signs of recent conflict still evident by the yellow tape and investigators, but Shouyin's involvement in it all basically forgiven and forgotten. After all, the things were gone (no one else had seen the woman, and he wasn't about to bring her up), and he'd only been acting out of self-defense, even it his means were a tad destructive.
Smiling, he'd shove his hands in his pockets and, after slipping into some sort of bookstore, library, or city information centre and inspecting a map of the town, head southeast towards the shore, eyes forward and slightly raised looking for signs of the Water Shrine's temple, and possibly the "little girl" herself. By mere chance, he'd cross through that strange scene of the submarine and wounded soldiers, and actually pass by Enki himself on the beach, but with his thoughts directed ahead, and his eyes unfocused, the man would go by entirely unnoticed.
Weird how that happened.

*Enki ignores the comment about his powers, having more pressing matters to attend to then to show off*
I can hold it for as long as I want...
*Though the thought hit his mind, "Hopefully..." His powers have ben weakening recently and he knows it has something to do with this problem in the ocean. He failed his only reason for living, but all hope is not lost and he intends to make sure he'll help fix it*
Yes, there is on across town, on the other edge of the Latent beaches

My main expertise is marine biology." ::Unfortunately, fire is not biological, or marine based. But the scientist soon found a fireball where water should be. Why one might ask? Its actually quite simple, water is made of H20, two hydrogen and one oxygen atom. When at the subatomic level these particles are seperated you get two gases. Oxygen and Hydrogen. Both are extremely flamable, infact one is highly combustible. When a tiny nanite self destructs, you get a spark. And a rather big fireball. No simple layer of hardened water would get in the way of. Simply enough, once a base connection between the particles was broken, the substance stopped being water. Unless Enki was guardian of air, or guardian of fire....it was no longer his domain. Needless to say, there was no sample. The nanites were all but entirely obliterated. And something about the shore itself just begged for Enki to dare try that trick again.:: --- ::Shouyin, was a bit off from the temple itself. Actually only a block or so, but there was this odd little girl with blue hair skipping by. She had an oddly bright blue necklace about her neck, and was skipping down the sidewalk with a group of rather decoratively dressed men, trying to reason with her.:: High Priestess you alone carry the symbol of Lord Latent...our oceans are in peril we need you to beseech the lord in prayer, how can you be thinking about playing princess?::She paused her skipping for a moment, and looked at the bright shining blue, almost crystalline necklace of a Leviathan around her neck and said.:: Cause Princess is fun!::And then continued skipping off. Oddly enough, directly past Shouyin. The men in robes chasing behind her, trying to reason with her.::
