hello! i've jsut started doubling on the clarinet. i play the saxophone right now. i've got a question:
are my middle notes (middle g to Bb) supposed to sound slightly airy? it could be my embrochure.
i also think that i need to work on my embrochure a bit. i think i'm playing the clarinet like a saxophone. oh well, longtones here i come!

Long tones do help along with making sure your mouth feels tight to you because you're used to saxophone. All I can say is good luck! On a different note, Concertino by von Weber=amazing smile I'm playing it for this year's solo/ensemble contest.

yea playing the saxophone is different than playing clarinet, just have to get your mouth tighter then you would for the saxophone. I play the clarinet and the saxophone, but i just started on the sax. xd

clarinets are amanazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just thought i'd throw that out there and if anyone ever does the pit orchestra for a musical, clarinets actually do get solos and main melodies and stuff and the trumpets don't always have to drown u out because they are louder and their parts are more important (fiddler on the roof has an amazing clarinet solo during the bar scene and it is wickedly difficult but so cool sounding!)

Hey, I'm Aaya. A senior at SCHS and 3rd chair clarinet in the Symphonic band. I've been playing clarinet and bass clarinet for 7-8 years now. I have done marching band in middle school but not in high school because we didn't have one.

Hi, I'm Luna. I'm a senior in high school and I've been playing clarinet for two years now. I'm not very good, but I love playing. My band director rocks, though--he's helped us win two first place trophies (one on Orlando then one on a cruise ship) and a second place trophy, which we won last year in Orlando. I could brag all day about the band ^__^

I'm Erica, and I'm a sophomore. I've been playing clarinet for about 5 years now. I'm in our school's concert band (because I had conflicts with last year's wind ensamble auditions). I'm also in Marching Band (Which rocks), and Pep Band (we just went to a state game yesterday!).
