he nodded and looked at Lena. "oh Lena...when did all this go wrong...." he sighed softly to himself. "when did we become to prime targets for all the heartbreak, all the pain, all the action...." he asked. "why cant we just be alone..."

Lena moved her head in her sleep, her mind trying to fix her memories for the third time. Her bandages were already staining with blood, but her breathing was slowly getting better.

he sighed. "i dont know what Ray did to you, but im going to make it better." he said, placing a hand on her shoulder, returning all of her memories. how they met, how she loved hiro, how she left hiro for him, how Nikolai asked her to marry him...everything.

After fifteen long minutes, Lena slowly opened her eyes. I'm.... back here. she thought and slowly sat up, wincing in pain and put a hand over her heart. She pulled her hand away and saw some blood on it, making her remember doing the same thing when she got shot.

She looked at her hand then at Nikolai, her eyes hurt and confused. "You wanted me dead." was all her mouth said. Hearing that, especially from him, was worse than anyone saying that they hated her.

Lena looked at him then looked away. The funny thing about this was that she chose him over Hiro right before she died. "Do you.... still love me?" she asked softly.

She looked down at the ring's poem. A few tears welled up in her eyes after reading it then looked back at him. "And you..... Didn't want me to die?" she asked softly.

"No....no i didnt know what i was thinking....i guess, seeing you kiss hiro in front of me....made me infuriated." he sighed and hugged her. "no...i want you to live....with me....forever...." he said, holding up his wedding ring. "I fixed it" he smiled softly

Lena looked at the ring and frowned. After everything that's happened, the love potions, people trying to kill them, and even Hiro returning, he still loved her... She scooted closer to Nikolai and kissed him softly, ignoring the pain in her chest from her wound. "I think I should be the one to apologize." she whispered and rested her forehead against his, feeling herself tear up.

he smiled and kissed her back. "no matter what you do, what i do, or what anybody else does, nothing will keep me from loving you....i will be here for you, right by your side." he said and hugged her.
