Pen went straight to work. Luckily, Luc had re-wired the engine room's console to have access to the main computer on the bridge. She had complete access to the floating arena/tv studio/prison.
"This hunk of metal was to keep us in, not others out. The best defense is the shield and I doubt it could handle a barrage." She focused on the screen thinking through their options.

"I have a feeling they are not looking to shoot us down" said skotti as lana chimed in "hey! they are boarding!".

Pen stunned to hear Lana announce that tid-bit sat in her own racing thoughts. Why would they board where we are armed? No reading of force entry, could it be they are unaware of the situation? Friend or foe?
"Well like I said the ship was meant to keep us in. To control the internal weapons will only take a few minutes. See if these guys are friendly though." Pen rattled over the radio typing away.

Luciano sighed and did some scans of the ship, he rolled his eyes and facepalmed at Skotti's "observation". "Skotti, it's the supply Vessel that I contacted when I was with the Zurg. They're assisting us." he said, still very much frustrated. "They're un-equipped with weapons, we could actually kill them if we wanted to. Not all of us are trigger happy."
Luciano suddenly saw a small blip on the screen. It was an escape pod. Luciano facepalmed and then he said, "Way to go. Number one got away." he knew it was Number one because of the Zurg life signs on the pod. He sighed but he set that aside. The long ranged weapons on the ship couldn't extend that far, and the short time he was with the new ally, it explained that their weapons couldn't even shoot down a satellite. Instead, Luciano focused of the supply vessel. He looked over at Pen, "Please prepare cargo bay two." he gently stepped away from the console and made his way to Cargo Bay two.

Skotti had about ten thousand things to say about the trigger happy comment that luciano made oh yeah, coming from the guy that runs into every mission, guns a blaze, I just want to get out of here with all of my vital organs.
"I just wanna make sure we can get out of here without one more big freaking battle, besides, pen pointed them out and lana is the one with the overactive imagination" said skotti.
"Sorry boss, alien movies and all..." she said.

Luciano took off his head set and put it into his coat pocket, he walked into Cargo Bay Two. He greeted the crew of the supply ship and then they were done loading on supplies, Luciano organized the boxes, then he put his headset back on and then he said, contacting Pen "Take us into Warp 4.5, if you will. We have the cargo."

(Transition! Hold on to your Hats!)
Rubbing the back of her neck Pen replied into her earpiece, "Well we can't be too careful. Anyway with the power up the cargo ships brought I can do much better than that."
Observing the screen, Pen had figured out to use the core to its fullest. With the ship's energy levels restored, they could use the remaining power and the gravity of nearby Red Giant to get home much sooner.
"It will take some doing on my end so I need everyone to be on the bridge and await my directions. Then I get us home by lunch time!"
Pen went on with her idea, knowing the urgency of getting back to base. Just because the last one was a cargo ship doesn't mean that they won't be discovered. Now with number One gone, it was safe to assume reinforcements might be coming.
By using the shield's energy alone to send them into the Red giant's gravity field and then warping the result would be somewhere on warp 9. Not only would they be home but the ship would be well enough to land safely. However to go a such speeds it would be safer if everyone was close together.

Everyone who Pen was talking to agreed and had headed off to the bridge, where Skotti, Lana, and Waffle were waiting. They could finally head home if Pen played the cards right.

(It was a great arc but lets get this going.)
"Hi guys is everyone here?" A screen came on the Bridge to show a 48 inch wide screen Pen. She was broadcasting from the engine room as the rest of group was on the bridge.
(rather get this going with more here though)

Waffle turned around to see the whole group there minus Luciano, and then turned back to the screen.
"Everyone except Luciano. I think he was handling cargo still?"

Luciano walked back into the Engine Room where Pen was, gave her a nod and then he said "Ok. What d'you need?" he sat down at the same console he stationed himself before.

Holding onto his slave, Twi observed the space scene trhough the only window in the cargo bay. something about it realy touche dhim. he'd never been this close to the stars he watched every night from earth. it was ironic, he thought, how being so close to them only made him feel so much farther away from them. how he felt so unconnected right now.
Shan, Insain and Sharon sat together, watching him carefully. they turned to observe Waffle, and Skotti, then back to Twi. they all had the sam ethought on their minds; how would the Luciano-Twilight situation play out when they landed? would they fight, or go their sepperate ways yet again?
((i take it the alternate reality is reached through a wormhle then? xd ))

Pen nodded glad to see she wasn't alone.
"Alright we have everyone let me give you all the main idea. We are going to use that Red Giant's gravity to get us moving." She brought up on the screen a picture of the dieing sun in question.
"Don't let its size fool you a Red giant is much less dense than our own sun do to its change in its hydrogen cycle. To make a long lecture short its overcompensating for its lack of fuel. Therefore its gravity is weaker."
Due to the fact Pen was self taught to a degree, she had read up in Astronomy for fun. Never thinking it come into any use.
"When we get close enough all unnecessary power will be transferred to launch us into warp 9." Pen then turned to Luc, "I'm going have to turn off the shield while you transfer the energy to the engine. After that I will use the core to give the final boost and slinging ourselves out of the sun's pull and into the Warp."
This also meant that Pen would have to leave her seat to get the core for the last burst of energy.
"This is going to be a rough everyone, so I need you all to pack in tight. While you are at it think happy thoughts, Warping has been known to cause stress and hallucinations. so try focusing on a more pleasant thought." Pen gave a conflicted smile of that worry and peace. If she had the choice these would be the elves she would travel through space with and that thought calmed her down.
"Am I clear?"
(more we rip the space time continuum and accidentally fall into an alternative time line. an explantion will be given later in the arc 3nodding )
