Spiritual reflection isn't reserved just for this time of year.
I avoid spreading my spiritual beliefs, for multiple reasons, but suffice to say that seeing people focused on doing good for others, concentrating on fellowship, and letting go of hatred for once in their lives is a greatly heartening thing.
John Lennon said "Imagine there's no heaven..."
Why? Because organized religion begats combativeness. People kill others based on who has what belief system. People hate each other based on which God or version of God they worship. People can decide, on sight, to hate someone based simply on the fact that that person may have differing views and beliefs.
The reality of heaven and hell is not a debate. Persecuting others in the name of God has become a fact of life, and has been for centuries. I take to heart the Spirit of Christmas-that is, the teachings that you should honor, love, and cherish each other. No exceptions.
On December 20th, 1980 John Lennon was shot to death. But Christmas is, even in it's most secular, paegan-derived form, about celebrating life and rebirth. I choose to celebrate life and people.
Well, that was a little bit stronger then I intended it to be. My final point? I love you all. biggrin heart

Ms Emma Frost Wally_West Is it just me, or is the Etta avatar about 17 kinds of adorable?! xd More like 17 sizes too small dear. *ducks*I'd rather have the option to eat what I like when I like than be a stick thin girl like you xp Linda Park West Wally_West I believe she ended up reinvented for the modern age as a military woman...she's now Steve Trevor's wife. 3nodding Steve still shows up every now and again in the Wonder Woman books.. haven't seen much of Etta though sweatdrop Rucka seems to have ditched both in favour of his own supporting cast. Anyway I preferred her in the Golden Age version than the modern one Speaking of Christmas, I'm Catholic so I celebrate it by default. I don't care too much for presents (but then I only get 1 or 2). And like Raven said, it's an excuse for our family to get together given how busy everyone is. And of course, without it, we wouldn't get the post-Christmas stocktake sales to spend the money we get from Christmas on blaugh

Actually December 25 is not the birthday of Jesus if we can be technical for a moment. jesus's real birthday is not known for sure but many experts have been led to believe it's sometime in the summer months, not December 25. That holiday was a Pagan holiday called Yule and when the Christian Church was spreading across the world, they took over many Pagan holidays to try and convert the Pagans...December 25 being one of them.

Raven_Darkholme Sure [Christmas] is supposedly derived from St. Nicholas but the Catwoman movie was supposedly derived from the comic books. xd

Yeah, yeah, it certainly is, Dickie.
Man college sucks. My roommate just killed my computer, so all the time I was planning on being able to get on here ... yeah, down the tube. Sorry fellas, but I have to go kick some street-punk-making-my-room-messy-and-smell a**! Damn italians.
