Quote: To those who are not so decent in spanish? You can ask me for help. I'm fluent in spanish and know my stuff. I'm a spanish minor so yeah...I'm spanish speaking native. But I have taken japanese, so I do know how hard a new langauge can be. Good for you, Para for taking Japanese! I have been in an Japanese imersion program since I was in kindergarten so I'm very fluent. Its a lot of work, but it really pays off later in life. Does anyone else speak Japanese? Nihonngo wo shaberimasuka?

Nihongo o sukoshi hanashimasu....demo heta desu yo! Ima daigaku de nihongo no kurasu ga arimasu. Niban desu. Daisuki desu! Kyonen furui koko de nihongo ga atte, supeingo ga arimasen deshita.
When I started taking Japanese at college level I had to drop Spanish just because I found myself answering the Spanish questions in Japanese xD
It's really weird not writing in Hiragana, so my spelling in Romaji is about 18081230 times worse and I don't catch grammar mistakes as easily.
I used to live where eeeeeveryone spoke Spanish, so it's pretty easy to understand, but I really, really love Japanese.

Really a japanese immersion program? That's awesome. I wish they had that here in so. california. Spanish is more prevalent here obviously. Hmm, I completely lost what you just said. I was like uh...Nani? I only took 1 semester of japanese and I was pretty good at it. I forgot just about everything except how to write my name and say common phrases like...Ikura desuka? Watashi wa Barbara (real name) desu. Doozo Yorishiku! I love hiragana, I can still read it but I can't write it anymore. Katakana is where I get lost completely. Kanji was..difficult. All I remember is the sign for women, men, and rice field. smile Grammar completely lost me though, I was used to spanish and english evidently. Maybe I should read my japanese books again.
Let's see if I can translate that sentence gabrielle. I know Nihongo is japanese langauge. Demo is but. Daigaku is...I know it! No I don't. No is an obvious one, a noun thing. Arimasen is not anymoe..?
I probably completely am wrong! I recognize the words but get lost in them. Anime and manga helped me in learning japanese though!

Oooh! I just moved from So. California... to the midweset -.- Snow sucks!
I was /trying/ to say "I speak Japanese a bit....but I'm bad at it! Now I have a Japanese class at college. It's number two [meaning level]. I love it! Last year at my old high school I had Japanese, but I didn't have Spanish."
Spanish was offered, but it's madly awkward where everyone speaks Spanish and your accent is ridiculous xD Here, my Spanish accent seems less...awful xp

Most of the people at my high school are all "FRENCH!" while I'm slaving away under the slurred-together words of natural Spanish speakers DX
Aww. I love snow :3 Especially when they cancel school for it, hahah.

I'm in Canada...so it's all about the French. Except the quality of teaching of the language here is pretty terrible (unless if you're someplace where it's ACTUALLY bilingual), and you have the option of dropping it after grade 9. I pretty much half-assedly passed the course a couple of years back and have been rejoicing ever since for not having to speak the language again. Not that I don't like the language; I think it's beautiful...when spoken right, which I can't do for my life. xd I do speak Mandarin though; I'm fluent in both that and English, and can understand a bit of Cantonese.
Also: how do you get a GPA above 4.0? I thought that was the highest you could score...? xp

Weighted GPAs are on a 5.0 scale, where harder classes (honors, AP) weigh in as...somewhere over 4 XD Someone who actually knows what she's talking about should probably explain. XD
That's cool! I can speak Mandarin, too. ^ ^ The writing is horrid. -__- My Mandarin reading level is about 3rd-grade.

Haha, whenever my Japanese tests have Kanji, I rely entirely on context to figure it out. xD
Yeah, AP and Honors are worth 5 points each instead of the usual 4 points for each class. A=5 B=4 C=3 D=2 F=Zeroooooooooo
Oh no...I just remembered I have homework for Japanese due Monday. >.<;;

AP classes saved my life in h.s. to bring my gpa up. My last semester of h.s. I had a 4.75 because of all A's in 6 classes including my AP's. Yeah, I don't know any french at all or mandarin or cantonese. I think it's awesome that you guys do. I would love to be able to speak it but alas, spanish is my only option.
Have you seen the new trailer for hp #6?

That's scary high o.o
Yeah, I've seen it....when I went to see Twilight, I think. It really bugs me that Daniel Radcliffe said it's one of the "funniest" -.- I'm even more bugged that Twilight took over it's spot. HARRY POTTER TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER ALL OF THOSE OTHER MOVIES scream (I know, it's not because of Twilight xP)

No, I haven't seen the trailer yet. .__. I kinda don't want to see it to save it for the movie...
I think Twilight is funnier than Harry Potter...in a pitiful kind of way. It's funny in that they try so hard to make the story seem like the book, but the book isn't that great either, so the movie completely falls on its face XD Seriously. The Twilight movie is 2 solid hours of awkward.

Yes it is .-. My mom's like "It's really sad how Daniel Radcliffe was a better actor when he was like 10 than him [meaning Edward-guy] and he's 20 or something" xP
Twilight's not terrible...I mean, not everyone can be magnificent writers, but I sure am glad I'm not one of it's fangirls xD

Yeah, I enjoy Twilight in the sense that it's an easy read and has a really simplistic plot (some might disagree, but I'm drawing a comparasion between Twlight and...say, Wuthing heights heart ). I thought it was kind of sad when I could pick out spelling and grammar mistakes from the book...I don't think that should happen. EVER. Anyways, I thought the movie was really awkward too; there didn't seem to be chemistry there. the only casting I thought was good was for Alice and Emmet. And also maybe Charlie...
I have always believed that the book is always better than the movie...regardless of how crappy the book was to begin with... talk2hand I haven't really been a big fan of the HP movies...it's always been about the books for me. To this day, I've only seen the first and second ones. I think the casting for HP was way better than Twilight (main characters only, obviously; Sirius and Remus were WAYYYY off). Directing is also better for HP, from the movies that I've seen...*shrug* In general, Potter wins. *thumbs up*

The Harry Potter series beats out everything else XD
Definitely, about the fangirl thing. Draco Malfoy beats any creepy sparkling bloodsuckers any day.
Usually books are better than movies. Most of the time they have to cut out chunks that aren't important to the plot, but that are still good scenes. On that note, (well, not really) have any of you guys seen Shopaholic yet?
