Yes what the ********. What in the...what's with the chains, dude?

Once again, curiosity was getting the better of the man. His brow furrowed as he stared, not really realizing that he was being rude in staring to begin with. The chains, mostly, were what had him hung up. He wasn't a native to the area, but last he knew, most people didn't walk around wearing THAT many chains...

Jason...by the way. 'Name's Jason...
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 5:12 pm

*ooooh Jason was not in for a good night. Mongrel cocked his head at the man, then looked down, amost as if he didnt KNOW he was wearing more metal than most punks*

Chains? Mongrel has these so brother knows where he is and can make him stay still. Mongrel sometimes plays too hard.

*He looked HAPPY as he said it. Of course, the chains served many purposes with the weird elf. One, they let anyone around him know where he was in seconds. Two, they allowed Cerberus to quell Mongrel's rampages by hauling them. Three, they meant the pack could leave Mongrel somewhere and be CERTAIN he's still be there when they got back. Of course, back in the day they;d also been ghe first set of chains used on the sane elf whiel b***h worked him over and turned him into Mongrel. He was as psychologically attached to the metal as he was physically, almost as if chained to what little sanity he had.*

Jay...sonn. Jason. I like Jason.

Uh...

Jason looked quite perturbed at this revelation. He looked like he had seen the most disturbing thing in existence...and so far as he knew, he HAD. It had him inching towards the door, chills running down his spine and having his hair on end all along the back of his neck.

So...uh...where's this brother of yours?
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 5:23 pm

*Mongrel cocked his head, closing his eyes as if listening to the fairies, then he smiled and when his eyes opened they were much calmer.
Slowly, he stood and walked towards Jason, his awkwardness gone, in its place liquid grace as he flowed forwards, all hips, with one hand extended to point*

Cerberus is close. Closer. Why, do I worry you Jay-sonn? Is there something wrong?

Jason slid back UP the wall, his legs straightening to put him back on his feet. His hand stopped when Mongrel spoke again...he HAD been reaching for the door when the Cainite spoke up.

Uh...wrong? No...nothing wrong....just never met a guy like you before....

His words were an attempt at downplaying just how nervous he was. It failed, and failed in a pretty epic wave. The quaver in his voice was fairly evident as Mongrel approached. Despite that, though, he was being quite honest...Mongrel was the first of his kind the man had met.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 5:34 pm

*Mongrel grinned, revealing his sharp canines. He hadnt stopped moving forwards and with a lick of his lips he leapt.....

WHUMP.

The door behind Jason would thud open into the far wall, something blue haired tearing through it in a flying tackle, knocking Mongrel to the floor with a snarl. A rattle of chains indicate dthe end of the VERY brief brawl, Mongrel yelping and whimpering, then settling down as Cerberus, who else, straightened up, a tight grip on the elf's chains, restraining him*

Lay off Mongrel, behave yourself. This isnt our town.

*The elf whimpered and nodded, settling back and ceasing what little struggle he'd been capable of, passive once more now his keeper was back*

Sorry about that sir. He's an ex-crackhead, into body modifications. Little masochist doesnt realise other people dont like pain too. I dont normally leave him alone, but I didnt think anyone'd be here for the short time I was away.

*Which was about the BEST lie anyone could come uip with to explain away the bizarre creature that was Mongrel in any sort fo normal terms.*

Jason would later swear he'd hit the roof, that was how violently he had jumped when the door burst open. He'd been quite paralyzed by the thing lunging for him, but that spell had been broken by the very LOUD bang that slammed his arm back over his chest, from where it had been in front of the door.

Ex...crackhead? You sure he ever quit?

Jason wasn't quite aware of just how scared shitless he looked. He was sweating lightly, and short of breath. He was slowly regaining his composure, but the blue haired guy didn't look too much less disturbing than Mongrel had.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 5:53 pm

Not until after he'd already killed half his brain cells or more, but family si family... cant just abandon em, ya know?

*Cerberus looked quite casual, and now that he was back, Mongrel was TOTALLY harmless, coiled about his brother's legs like a comfortable cat. Cerberus sat himself at a table and smiled, with normal teeth, at Jason*

Dont let him get to you. He wont do a thing now Im back. I apologise again for the fright.

Right...Yeah, I know the meaning. But s**t, dude...is it even legal to keep him chained like that?

Soon as he'd said it, Jason was regretting saying it. It just wasn't the sort of question he ought to be asking. But he had asked, so he stuck with it. Besides, he was a little dizzy from nearly hyperventilating, and was too unsteady on his feet to just make for the door and run for the next place to eat at....especially since this place looked too abandoned to really offer much food.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 6:04 pm

Im sorry would you rather I took the chains OFF?

*Cerberus was smiling dangerously now. Hell, he'd TRIED, right? He had to get points fo rthat. Back home, Mongrel'd simply have gotten a free meal and Cerberus woudl have taken his time, or at least had fun letting the kid know exactly what his pet brother was and why he was that way. Here... he'd at least givena MODICRUM of respect to the Masquerade... if Jason was too stupid to accept the lie and cut and run... well, he was aksing to be eaten, right?

Somehow, Cerberus kept his fangs in check, not showing them, Mongrel remaining passive at his feet as tension flowed through Cerberus' muscles, but he didnt act*

It was this or send him to an asylum. He'd have died in an asylum. I got special dispensation, as long as he doesnt hurt anybody.

No, no...point taken, point taken.

Jason was back on his feet, and feeling steady now. This whole thing was just too creepy. His hand drifted to the door, as he made ready to slip back out into the streets.

I...think I'm gonna go get dinner somewhere else...
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 6:14 pm

Cant say I blame you. If you go back to the main street and turn left, theres a restaurant about 10 minutes down that does exquiste chinese. I highly recommend it. Have a good night.

*Smiling like he meant it, Cerberus waited till the man had gone, then sagged with relief*

GodDAMN these Camarilla types dont get to have ANY fun.
Mongrel is hungry...
You and me both. Fancy some take out?
Only if you get me someone Russian.
Russian? RUSSian? What ARE you on?
You insulted me. I am NOT a crack head.
You ******** are. Its just other cainites, not crack, you want...
Regardless, for the insult, you owe me...

*There was a brief, violent motion. Mongrel suddenly found himself up o his tiptoes, chains twisted with practiced cruelty so he couldnt move a muscle, his head twisted so his neck was bared. With a savage bite, Cerberus tore into his sibling, taking a massive chunk out of him, then lapped at the blood until Mongrel stopped it form flowing*

I owe you NOTHING, brother, you owe me EVERYTHING. You obey ME, remember? I made you what you are.
Thank-you master, Yes, master...

*Nodding with satisfaction at the answers, Cerberus dropped the elf, stroking a hand through his hair like a pet, then headed for the door. Still healing the gash to his neck, Mongrel followed obediantly after, whimpering quietly with thos ecrazed eyes darting around him*

Ah, the Tavern 'tween Heaven and Hell. An odd name for a place, meant for odd inhabitants.

And of course, it was damn near abandoned. The only frequent guests were otherwise busy, meaning Iden had no worries about hijacking the bar.

He seemed to unfurl into existance, a dark robe unfolding to deposit him and his charge behind the bar. Javos was unconcious, which was good enough for him. It meant the collar snapped free from the Ceilican's neck, and the chains solidified back into the form of a spear. It was an inch short...but the shock tag was just too much a mandatory device to spare.

To further secure his prize, Iden lifted the lance, and slammed it, point first, into the ground. Around the point of impact, the room began to darken, as O-Kuni's power took hold. The bar was sealed off by eldritch power, which would cause great pain to anyone who tried to enter...or exit.

Sleep tight, little kitty...I'll be sure to be back for you.

And then, Iden's body folded back upon itself, as he stepped back into the Wyrm's realm. The boss would be pleased. He damn well BETTER be pleased...the more Iden thought about him NOT being pleased, the more it pissed him off. If the boss wasn't pleased.....God help Javos, and whoever else got in his way.

*It would be a couple of hours before the impressive regeneration of a true immortal, a Ceilican, brought Javos back to consciousness. His broken ribs were reduced to mere hair line fractures, and even his arm, pierced through and raw as it still was thanks to the shock band, was looking a lot healthier, albeit scarred where the band sat and had cut into him.

Blinking his eyes open, they glowed with dull green light as he took in his surroundings, shifting back to cat form to rest his more sense aware head on his paws, stretched out in front of him. His head felt heavy, his thoughts sluggish and foggy as he sniffed. Tavern. Dusty, old, not often used. He though he knew where he was.
Could he move? He didnt know. He couldnt even tell if he still had the collar on, until a weary back leg raised and scratched at his neck. Good. It was gone. Still, he could FEEL the links in his arm, more comfortable since he shifted, the cat form seemingly his best idea, and he could SENSE the all pervading evil of the blade around him. Odd.

Slowly, carefully, the big cat stood up. He swayed, forgetting how many paws he had for a moment and settling on three, which of course sent him into a wall as he mis-stepped, but then he recovered and limped out from behind the bar, eyes roving over the entire bar. His nose twitched again, scenting for anyone else. Scenting for... Iden*

Gods... what the ******** is wrong with my life... how the ******** did it come to this....

*Moving across the floor with more confidence now he believed he was alone, Javos actually had a tear in his eye for the loss of his mentor, master and friend. He mourned for Iden as he looked at the windows and contemplated how he had come to be here.
Rational thought... didnt help. He still had the links in his arm. As long as those were there... he KNEW he wasnt safe, and that he wasnt here by accident.
Settling down, he chewed at his arm with his long fangs, uncaring of the pain in his flesh as he dug for the links, trying to work out if there was ANY way to pry it out of his own body. For the second time in a short period, he was experiancing captivity, pain.. and a lust for freedom*

Any god thats listening... please please help me.

Well if I did that, I am most certain the boy would be livid.

The voice emanated from the lance still sticking straight upwards from the floor of the bar. With each word, the links in Javos' arm hummed with latent energies. They weren't lashing at the Ceilican yet, but it was an easily identifiable warning.

What would you have me do, then? Free you? Let you run?
