Rin cracked a small smile as she followed Miharu out the Pokemon Center. After the rather short walk to the gym the duo made it inside. Immediatly they were greeted with two familair faces. "Rin!" one of them shouted having spotted thier old companion. Rin gave the a slight way, having already caught the glimpse of the Pokeballs in thier hand. "Jake, Kevin," she said, "You'e on." The two boys smiled. "Us against you and your friend," Jake said. Without waiting for an answer he tossed out a Pokeball, a Beedrill taking shape. Silently Kevin threw his Pokeball forth as well. The red light took the shape of an Aridos. "I choose you Akira!" Rin called throwing forth her usual contender. "Your move Miharu."

Napalm skidded to a halt, a few feet from his trainer and the snake Pokemon that just would not back down. Thrusting his hands forward, he closed his eyes, trying one more time at a Psychic attack. He grit his teeth, determined to pass this test of skill.
Ekans soon felt his grip on the human weakening, as his whole body was pulled away from the trainer, who broke free, kicking the snake for good measure. He was weak, time to retreat. The Ekans began to slither away, but Napalm would have none of it. Motioning with his little hands again, he brought the Poison Pokemon up, then crashing down once more.
The snake twitched once, then went limp. Mike wasn't sure if it was dead or not, but at this point, he was just happy to see that Napalm was ok.
Little master! Portabello charged forward, almost knocking Mike over. He scooped the small Pokemon up, holding him tight. Way to show them hellfire little one!
Napalm smiled, letting out a labored breath.
"I agree Napalm, you rocked!" Digging through his bag, Mike fished a potion he bought no less than thirty minutes ago. Walking over to his little champ, he sprayed it on, it taking effect almost immediatly.
Napalm hopped down from Portabello's grip, shaking off his body, feeling as good as new. Well, aside from the poison that is.

"Where to next?" she pondered aloud, tapping her chin thoughtfully. Meanwhile, noting Mary-Anne's slightly messy hair, Ulani began to straighten it out meticulously with her little white beak, picking out a few blades of grass as she did so.
Well, there's no putting if off. . . Gotta go to Johto, she sighed, pulling out her other filled PokeBall. Daemyn must've still been sleeping, else it wouldn't been hard to keep him in any enclosure for long. He might not be with me if we do, but if he leaves, it's his choice and he'll be happier. In a moment of worried self-doubt, she averted her eyes upwards to her blue cottony "hat." "Ulani, you'll stay with me at least, right?"
The Swablu acted as if she were miffed by the 'at least,' but nodded confidently nevertheless and chirped out a sure affirmation.
"Thank you," M.A. smiled, feeling an inch better. Still, her expression seemed sad when she glanced down at the other Pokeball in her hands. Shaking her head a bit (apparently Ulani was forgotten just for that second), she told herself sternly that she wouldn't, wouldn't let him see this side of her. There was no way that she'd make him feel inclined to stay with her, just because she /wanted/ him to. . . He had to do what he truly wanted to do, and then she'd be happy for him. Yeah, she'd be happy for him.

Kilik passed through the housing and he ceased his humming. There was a woman with a Butterfree who was talking to a boy with a backwards cap. He was wearing a red sweater and black hair jutted out of his hat. There was something about him that seemed familiar, even though Kilik had never seen him before. Wonder who that is? he thought with a laugh. He pushed open the door into a very dark forest. It was as if it was always night time.
A slew of Pokemon he had never seen were climbing up along trees and swinging from the branches. Pincoes, Ledybas, Spinaraks...it was amazing. Kilik took a step forward when he heard a loud 'HOOOOOT'. He froze in his tracks. Elekid shivered, then climbed down his trainer's body.
The plug stood his ground, holding up his arms. A Pokemon landed in front of them. It had two red eyes that were very round. The creature was completely round and brown with a circular pattern of a light brown on its stomach. A single claw pertruded from the bottom of the Pokemon. it flapped its tiny wings.
Wild HootHoot appeared! Level: 12 Attacks: Tackle Growl Foresight Hypnosis
"All right!" Kilik laughed, running a thumb over his nose, "Elekid! Looks like you've got a battle!"

Kasiya clapped eagerly, jumping to her feet and wiping away the last of her tears. "You're amazing, little guy!" Kasiya smiled, walking towards Mike and the little Magby. "The Potion may have healed his wounds, but he's still poisoned," she told Mike knowledgably. She knelt down beside the small fire Pokemon, and held the juicy, sweet berry out to him. "Napalm, was it?" The girl gave a warm smile, and motioned for him to take it. "This will make you feel all better. Plus, they taste good too."

Napalm squeaked at the offer, wasting no time to snag the berry and scarf it down. Napalm felt a rumbling in his stomach, and soon his entire body began to shake. A 'pffff' sound could be heard as the poison released itself from Napalm's volcanic pores.
"There you go, all better!" Mike said with a smile. He looked at Portabello, who seemed a little fatigued.
Master, all this commotion has worn me out. He pointed to his Pokeball, signifying he wanted to go back in. Before he was consumed by the red light, he gave a bow to the new arrivals. Excellent work little one. He said to Napalm, then was sucked back into his confinement for some rest.
"So," Mike started, scooping up the Magby. "What are you kids doing here?" He looked happy to see them, especially Mitsu, whom he hadn't seen in quite some time.
One of the Pokeballs lining Mike's strap jolted free, a bright explosion sent Felsic rocketing at the weary Karri. He tackled her, licking the Gardevoir's cheek with a blissful look on his face.

"I helped Kasiya here," Mitsu said, "Although I'm pretty much clueless on what's going on. We just came from Hoenn." She couldn't help but smile, it had been too long in her opinion. Karri looked as surprised as she could considering how tired the the trip had been. "Nice to see you too Felsic," Karri grinned patting the Quilava on the head. A second later she decided that wasn't enough and gave the Fire Pokemon a big bear hug.

Kilik pointed at the HootHoot. "Elekid! Attack with Thunderpunch!" The plug shivered slightly. It didn't really want to attack. The boy tapped his foot in wait and Elekid obliged. The plug dashed forward with his fist pulled back, crackling with electricity. HootHoot hopped back to dodge the attack. Elekid slammed his fist into the ground and the electricity fizzled out.
HootHoot dashed forward with a Tackle attack, slamming Elekid in the side. The plug fell to the ground and looked up. Bolts of lightning were coursing all around HootHoot's body. "That's right! His ability!" Kilik said to nobody, "Static!" The bird was now paralyzed.

Nina walked around the perimeter of the city, taking in the sights but at the moment not really caring too much. She was still furious at Kilik's words, and tried to clear her mind by taking a walk. It wasn't really working at the moment, though. Eventually, Nina headed for the east of the city, and found herself passing through Route 11. There were several trainers strewn about on the Route, battling with one another; the psychic was able to pass by without being bothered. Passing through another gate, Nina entered Route 12. She walked down the Route, which consisted solely of a twisting and turning bridge. Nina did enjoy seeing the water; it made her feel somewhat relaxed.
Hey! a trainer called from behind her. You there; the girl with the Misdreavus! You up for a battle? Nina turned around to see who was calling to her; the wind blew and ruffled her hair a little bit. She saw a rich-looking boy who appeared to be about her age. "Am I up for a battle?" she repeated. "No, I'm not. I don't have the time nor the patience to deal with pathetic fools such as yourself right now." With that, Nina turned and started walking again.
I see! the boy called back. I get it, you're just too afraid to battle me because of the fact that I'm superior and you know I'll win! It figures that you'd chicken out-- Nina whirled around and extended her left arm out at the boy, her hand glowing a bluish color; the boy developed an outline around his body of a matching color. She lifted her arm up into the air, causing the boy to rise with it.
"Hey! Wh.. what the hell!" the boy said, appearing visibly shaken. "Put me down this instant! Do you know who I am?!" Nina drew her arm in toward her body, drawing the other trainer in. She sustained him about a foot or two in front of herself.
"No, I don't know who you are," she replied simply, "nor do I care." Using her right hand, she slapped the rich boy across the face twice, leaving a bright red imprint on each of his cheeks. "And for the reference, you dumb, spoiled twit, don't you ever, ever belive that you are superior to a Gym Leader. Otherwise, something like this might happen to you." Nina thrust her arm forward quickly and released her telekinetic hold on the rich boy, pushing him forward. Since Nina let go of her grasp on him, he was flung into the water.
The psychic continued to walk south along the bridge as if she hadn't been interrupted. Anna's mouth gaped open and she hovered in shock for a few moments, before following her trainer.

"All right Tangela lets start off this battle with Growth!" The beauty across from Dante comanded with a grin on her face. The weedy pokemon gave a small cry and appeared to look concentrated before it started to glow slighlty as its stat's were boosted.
All ready not liking the girl across from him Dante frowned slightly. Thinking of his first move he decided on using Kenny's new move. "All right Kenny lets start off with your Double Team." The small ghost pokemon nodded and tapping into it's new powers the ghost pokemon created copies of itself that surrounded the grass type pokemon.
"Humph if you think that is going to work think again!" The beauty said flicking her hair slightly. "Tangela get ready lets use Ingrain now!" The small pokemon gave a slight cry as it activated it's ability summoning up plants that wrapped around its body some. The vines glowed somewhat as health started flowing into the grass pokemon.
"Hmmm, well Kenny use your Confuse Ray." Dante said with a slight frown. He still wasn't the best with ghost pokemon so he was kinda planning on playing it a bit safe in this battle. The ghost pokemon gave a small glance back at Dante confused at the lack of attacking but obeyed anyway sending the ray at the other pokemon. The Confuse Ray hit the grass pokemon head on, it couldn't move since it was ingrained into the ground like that.

Beep. Her PokeNav turned on again to the main menu. The control hovered over the map for a second, but she took a little 'detour' and checked out her address book. Other than her home number and Michael, there was the Winstrates', Mitsu's, Kasiya's, and Kilik's number listed (who put it there? Was it Kasiya?). The girl smiled softly to herself -- she'd met so many lovely people so far. And she'd see them again, and meet others, too (at least the mostly sweet beginning of her journey had made her believe so). This optimism gave her a spur of energy and the gloominess that had set into her soul seeped slowly out.
Looking at the Hoenn, M.A. saw that the closest train station from Verdanturf was nearby in Rustboro. Alright, then! We'll head there, she thought, snapping it shut and slipping it into her backpack. Feeling some wiggling from the Pokeball in her other hand, she giggled and let a fully-rested Daemyn come out. Like Ulani, he looked around for the other people who had accompanied 'his girl,' but did not seem to really care when he couldn't find them.
Walking out the steel doors of the PokeCenter, she found that the day had gone by miraculously fast; it was late afternoon, now, and orange was just beginning to tint the sun and sky. "Better make it there 'fore it gets dark!" she said cheerfully, carefully not letting a hint of sorrow creep into her tone. No, no, she couldn't be sad; that was too selfish. She would not let herself guilt Daemyn into staying with her, no matter how much she wanted him to! Once she tore her mind from the subject, though, she found it easier to act as if nothing would change.
So they set off towards Rusturf Tunnel.

Relieved to see that Napalm was now in tiptop shape, Kasiya couldn't resist giving him a gentle pat. "Mike, why do you always have such the cutest Fire-type Pokemon with you?" she cooed, tickling the baby Magby under his beaklike chin. She saw Felsic release himself, and smiled at the Quilava, even though the was to preoccupied with Karri to really notice her. At Mitsu's mention of being clueless, Kasiya looked a little guilty, her gaze falling upon the charred patches of ground where Napalm had battled. "Well, you guys know me well enough by now to know that I tend to overreact. A lot." She gave a sheepish chuckle, somehow prying herself from the cuteness that was the Magby and slipping her hands into her pockets. She gasped, realizing then that she had yet again forgotten to mention even once the possible existence of Maorde Menskr. She did find it odd, however, that even know she had a hard time with simple things, such as passing along possible life-saving messages, that she could remember obscure little things, like the correct pronunciation of the Slayer's name. She took a deep breath, a very serious and down-to-earth, yet out of place expression finding its way to her features. "Well, now that you're both here, I guess I'd better explain, huh?"

"Okay then," Miharu nodded, quelling the sudden anxiety that swelled up inside her. She bit her lower lip, and nodded to Aska, who chirped happily, and flew up, flying a little ways above Akira's head. Miharu was relieved to see that the roof of the gym wasn't too low, which meant that Aska has at least some maneuverability in here. She also studied the two Pokemon for a second, before deciding that Aska would most likely be battling against the Beedrill, since it was also airborne. "I'll try not to let you down, Rin," Miharu said, more to herself than anyone else.

The girl just smiled at Crenu's comment. Her Slugma happily accepted Crenu's berry, chewing it in delight. "Thanks," the girl said. "I've been training him for a while now." She looked over as Ky stood back up. "So, you guys want my help?"
"Yeah, that would be gre..." Ky stopped when the girl glared at him. "Come on! I didn't mean what I said! I was just angry that he scare... I mean, that he startled me," Ky explained. 'Why am I getting such bad first impressions?' Ky asked himself, sighing.
