Hey, maybe you were dumbing it down for everyone else?
(Btw, there's more than one hole that affects the octaves)

lol xD did you read my post? razz i already explained that

Ohhh, lol. xP
Sorry didn't read it all.

PS. The "second" octave key, (for G-D, I think) isn't working well. It sticks when I go down from a note above G to a note below G, so when I play a G#,G,F#,F,E,Eb,D, is squeaks up a few notes.

Its important that this problem stops, and I don't want to take it in anywhere, any advice?

I know exactly what you're talking about, and I know exactly how to fix it, but rather than me explaining it, you'd be better off taking it in to get it fixed.

Because it's hard to explain and relatively complicated, and if you screw up, I don't want to be responsible for your instrument. Better let the pros in your area do it for you. 3nodding
If I saw your instrument, I could point out exactly where you need to fix, but not every alto's keywork is the same.

I don't think you get it.
The problem is a sticky key. Nothing wrong with all the pipe-like stuff.

Well you could try the dollar bill trick.
Take an old doallr bill and put it under the pad and close it and slide it back out. I use it when i get a sticky pad

This! It's kind of hart to get it under that key, so you might want to do it a couple times. If that doesn't work, maybe you can look into getting the pad replaced? I know that I've had some that just won't stop sticking, even after the dollar bill thing.

Me too! =D Female saxophones always rock. B] Our saxophone section next year is only gonna have one guy. =D It's usually pretty balanced...but now we're dominating. :]

Yeah, that key is hard to get it under, but it seems to work,
thanks. biggrin

I'm a trumpet and piano player, but I'm thinking about giving the tenor sax a try. Any advice?
[I might not take lessons for sax until my sophomore year (I'm currently a freshman), btw. I still wanna learn to play it though.]

Do it! I love tenor sax, it's so much fun to play. Advice...uh, I guess it'll feel a bit weird for you to actually have the mouthpiece inside your mouth, so lessons will definitely help. Personally, I don't think learning saxophone fingerings is too hard, so the main thing you'll want to focus on is your sound.
