Ghost-it Notes Vice Captain

((DOUBLE STRIKE.
Cause I wanted to eat while anyone replied. *So hungry.*
Also hi everybody c: ))
The young woman joined him in that long contemplative silence, the aqua hues of the pool reflecting ghostlike in her eyes. Lavi’s explanation had done very little for her, as the water that they had been in wasn’t even that cold to begin with. It still had the tropic feel, and regardless of its temperature there had most definitely been a woman there. She had saved her life, and she didn’t need to breathe air, and these were all very solid facts as far as she was concerned. Her brow creased slightly as she pondered over the sea maiden’s parting words, wondering what on earth the cliffs had anything to do with discovering her story. After all, if she was attached to the sea, how would she have ever ended up on the cliffs?
“Yep. I guess if we find something up there, we’ll know we’re not crazy,” she rationalized, taking Lavi’s hand in her own and letting him pull her to her feet. As she stood, she curled her hair over one shoulder and rung the excess water from it and quickly slipped her own shirt and sandals back on. Forgoing the tights for now seemed like a wise choice in case they had to wade more. “Plus, I’m saving my ‘I told you so’ for the right moment.”
She grinned then, took his hand in her own and tugged it playfully. “Hurry up, let’s go!” She had every intention of running, turning away from him with a flip of wet hair and a pull; she was going to drag him out of that cave if he wouldn't go fast enough to satisfy her. “I can't resist a puzzle... and it's almost sunset so even if we are actually insane it's going to be a beautiful view. If only you had Tessei so we could cheat our way up the cliff side!”
---
The color of red that came to Mishka’s cheeks could have matched the sunset a few hours before, not knowing why he hadn’t thought of the suggestion that the rather drunk Liv had just come up with. Part of him was worried she was going to flip off the bed and concuss herself on the bedside table, but regardless he inched towards the bathroom with his back soundly to her. However, he left the bathroom door open since it was around the corner from her, and listened carefully for any loud thunks. As calm as he tended to be, he fidgeted a little and carefully placed the bag of ice in the sink, locating a towel to wrap the collection of ice cubes as to not hurt the young woman.
“Is safe?” He asked cautiously as she called him, and clutching the bag carefully he inched out of the bathroom. The nightgown that Liv had gotten into only embarrassed him further—it was far more revealing and appealing than Mishka was comfortable admitting, and he cleared his throat gently. However, he put on a stony face and grabbed an extra pillow and gently lifted her swelling ankle atop it. “Keep ice on ankle, Ms. Liv. I can look at it better in morning,” as carefully as possible, he placed the cool towel along the delicate, swollen foot. He glanced up at her, worry touching his eyes. “Would you… ah… prefer I stay here with you, to make sure you are okay?” His fear mostly stemmed from Liv falling asleep with the ice on her ankle; it was more than capable of causing frostbite.

....HFShdsf...small...post.. orz ))
Liv was oblivious to Mishka's embarrassment, and of course to her own openness and relaxed attitude. She turned her head to look at him as he fixed her ankle with the pillow and compress, giving a tiny yawn, "Ahhmmhn....you can stay...forever if you want to..," she mumbled sleepily, flopping back into the pillows again. She was quiet for a long moment, seemingly drifting off to sleep finally before she stirred a little again. "Mishka..," her voice was soft as she reached one hand out, waving in the air in search of any part of him as though she had something she really wanted to say.

"I'll just stay for a little while," he murmured quietly, knowing that the forever suggestion was the alcohol talking. "Stay still for a bit... the cold will be gone soon." A bitter sadness gripped his stomach, as the next morning it was likely Liv would not remember half of what she had said and she certainly would not have meant a word of it. As she whispered his name, he shook his head a little and took her hand in his, sitting on the bed near to her head so he could hear her properly. "Yes, Liv...?"

(( Lol saaaame. Also dear internet, please stop being an a*****e... ))
She smiled a little when she finally felt his hand around hers, her heart fluttering even through the drink and the tiredness. She rubbed her thumb gently against his skin, still warm to the touch while her own hands were becoming a bit cooler from the ice at her ankle and the thin clothing she had changed into. When she spoke, it was with utmost sincerity, despite her inebriation. Whether Mishka believed the truth of her previous drunk ramblings or not, there was no denying she meant her next words, one hundred percent. Maybe the alcohol was starting to wear off a bit, maybe it was just a brief moment of clarity. Whatever the reason, she spoke clearly and truthfully, "You're a good man...you've been wonderful to me...from the moment we met...it's been wonderful..," The little smile on her face widened with her words and her hand slipped from his to travel up his arm, rubbing along it gently, "Goodnight, Mishka..," she rubbed for a second more before letting her arm fall back to curl around the pillow she still clung to, drifting off at last.

Lavi pulled a face at the prospect of being told 'I told you so', his stubborn and proud side not at all liking being proved wrong, even if it was over a silly argument he'd never put much worth in, in the first place. His skepticism was always more of a 'see it to believe it' nature, his adamant denial of even the possibility of the existence of the mythical creature merely for the sake of the discussion with her. It could have been any strange being, really.
"Nothing like a sunset to comfort you after you've found out you're a lunatic." Her enthusiasm made him laugh, running along with her down the tunnel and back into daylight. It would indeed have been easier if he'd had his Innocence with him to get them up the cliff a lot quicker, but ever since coming to the resort it had been safely stashed away in a drawer. So, they had no choice but to go back the way they came, carefully maneuvering the many rocks covering the sea floor while still keeping a steady pace.
In order to get to the top of the cliffs they had to get back on the path at the edge of the forest and follow it all the way. It was quite a steep climb and coupled with all the running Lavi was slightly out of breath once they'd reached the top. From a distance he'd already been able to make out something large on top of the cliff and now that they'd gotten closer he let out a small gasp of recognition at the statue that had been placed there. "This... is her, isn't it?" He let go of her hand and put his hands on his sides, catching his breath as he stared up into a young woman's face, albeit a bronze one. "So maybe we're not crazy after all..." He reached out a hand to touch the smooth statue as if to make sure it was really there.
