The sannin wold smile as he had caught aika's statement, only to have the genjutsu tried on him. The visual cue was more then enough to know he was in a genjutsu, and in a simple movement he ended the impression on him. He got a little frustrated and his voice went from warm and inviting to a little colder and tense.
"You dont have the capacity? You have legs and a mouth correct? The hospital has a comprehensive set of tests for poisons, possible tampering, hell even some of the upper level ninja could have recognized the damn jutsu if only you had gone the extra step to insure your mission was a perfect success, not a half assed because you wanted to be done with it. I hope now you understand there are no ordinary moments, their are no rutine missions. The training is nothing, but the will is everything...the will to act. What if this was you who was poisoned because your team mate flubbed up, because he dropped his guard on a routine mission? MY students dont die so easily....and it seems you may need more schooling then i thought...."
San then looked to Kumiko and gave a smile, his voice changing to something warm and tender again.

"Yes sir..." She said clasping her hands at her hip level. She never looked away from the eyes, something not common in a lot of people now days with all the ocular genjutsu that existed. The rebuke however made her flinch slightly, as if slapped. "I wasn't saying I didn't have the capacity, I was offering to go get you someone from the hospital. My apologies if I have performed below expectations. If it was a teammate that let poison slip into my system then I doubt I would harbor any ill feelings in the afterlife. Though I might make a fuss about it while I was still here..." She would go quiet and seemed to be contemplating heading back out the door to another location. She didn't make a move for several minutes except to shift the weight off of one foot and more onto the other.
Kumiko frowned as San replied to her, a bit upset that he was scolding the other woman in the room, though for what reason she did not know. looking back down towards the genjutsu scroll the sanin had given her, the genin picked out the next one and then tried to regain her chakra before performing the hand signs for the next genjutsu, Dust Imitation Clone Technique and used it on Sanshi again.

San once again simply stopped his chakra flow once the genjutsu stopped. He took a deep breath in, and knew that it was time for the instruction to begin for both the young ninja. Not just in the art of technique, but in the art of will. The warmness to his voice returned as he approached aika, and put on had on her shoulder.
"Out of every 100 soldiers, 10 shouldnt even be there, 80 are just targets. 9 are the fighters, and we are luck to have them for they make the battle happen. But the one....the one is the warrior, and he will bring the others back. As a member of a team, you are responsible for them and their every move. You are ABLE to respond in whatever method you choose, so long as you have the will to do so. I hold myself responsible for each and every ninja i put into the field, because you all are important to me. Suna has no formal squads: we make teams depending on the needed situation. this lets us be fluid and versatile in whatever method we choose or are needed. Expand your mind to treat everyone as your team mate, family, and friend. Learn to see that which cannot be seen with the eye...."
A very valuable lesson that Raizen had taught to San at a young age, it was only in his own increasing age did he finally see its wisdom. Maybe if Aika could see this lesson would she not see her mistake. she had only made a mistake, not an error. An error was a mistake gone un corrected.

Aika was just quiet, trying to think on the meaning of the brief story. She had a long way to go before understanding the true meaning of it but was quiet and her mind seemed to be working. "So what becomes of this now?" She asked finally, a short and simple question as her arms crossed. They weren't defiant in the way they were set but one of a slightly confused person. She was still trying to wrap her mind around the information given to her.

Kumiko listened carefully to Sanshi's words, wondering what he could mean by his statements. She was quite smart for her age, but even she had her limits at times. "Uh, Professor? I don't really get it." She said, rubbing the back of her neck nervously as she looked towards the other woman in the room. She wondered if she was still upset for Kumiko using the genjutsu on her, but Sashi did tell her to do it.

San gave a slight sigh, and then figured he could offer another analogy.
"The lessons is about the ability to act, the will to do what is necessary. Aika, given the question that if you had training in the area, would you have acted any differently? Would you have had the mindset to know that something was up, and follow through to make sure the missions was completed to the highest potential? THAT is the training...not in these technqiues everyone feels are so important. Techniques i can teach you....this idea is far more complex, and you must find it yourself. "
San let the comment hang into the air, but then would speak once again.
"When you are sick, do you simply not notice? Continue to train move and operate as nothing has changed? No....thats who people die of the common cold. Even without medical training, our bodies naturally teach us to adapt to certain stimuli changes: drinking lots of fluids, resting, get some sunshine, is our body temperature off, what type of other symptoms am i receiving. Its not something we really think about, but something we inherently do! Now....if we use the analogy that the mission is our body and the changing circumstances are the sickness symptoms, you must act and react so naturally that making the mission a success is not a thought, but a simple natural action. "
Oh boy, this was sure to boil their noodles. San finished his ramen, gave a bow of thanks to aika, and then spoke once more.
"I will get to training. Field evals are comming up soon, and if you guys would like to be given missions, I will recommend you are aiming to achieve your highest potential. Like i said...i dont qualify ninja to send them into the field to die. I'M more responsible then that, and i hope you seek to live by my example...."
San would walk into his office, but keeping his mind on the duo...seeing how they would adapt to the changing circumstances....

"I think I understand your meaning. I seem to have been selfish here in a way..." She said with a brief nod. She looked to the girl next to her and gave her a reassuring smile. She wasn't mad at the girl in the least. "How about you and me train together a little while. I could use some help figuring out this ninjutsu here. Elemental techniques are new to me." She looked over at San and gave him a smile trying to convey that she understood the new analogy. '
Shiro approached the building he knew all to well. The teen let out a sharp whistle and a black figure that was circling the village far above like a dot in the sky starts to dive at a rapid pace towards the boy. The shinobi turned and faced where it was coming from, shielding his eyes from the sun as he did so, and watched it get closer. The boy smiled when he could see the outline of the eagle and turned back towards the building and started to walk towards it again.
As he grew closer to the entrance an eagle landed on his right shoulder and gently nipped his ear. "Hey girl," he said as he moved his arm up the stroke the eagle. With his companion with him he entered the building and went to go look for someone. After roaming the halls he found the person he was looking for, Sanshi Satetsu, and he was with two other people in the training room. Shiro walked up behind them, trying not to make a sound, but he knew Sanshi could see him, they seemed to be in the middle of a conversation so he would wait until their finished.

Kumiko waved to Sanshi as he walked off, yelling out the door of her plan. "Thanks for helping me, Professor! I promise to pass the Field evals!" Content with herself the young genin looked up towards Aika and nodded, happy to help a person train. "Okay! Elemental techniques sound pretty neat. Do you know any?"

The duo seemed to be doing just fine it seemed, but the appearence of the new ninja was certainly unexpected. searching through his memory, San looked out his office and yelled to the kid.

"I havent learned any jutsu since before graduation, but I have a few here I wanted to try. See?" she said unrolling the scroll and showing her a few different earth jutsu and a couple of nonelemental ones that interested her. She showed her things like the konch whip and a few defensive jutsu that she had planned on learning. '
Shiro walked around the two girls and went to Sanshi's office and stood by the door. "Yes sir," said the genin in a low voice. He was nervous and his body language would display that. Yukiko turned her head to look at him, then back to Sanshi.

"Well..."She said looking down at the scroll." I could try! But I'm learning myself. Lets see here...Well this one says you just dive into the ground. Somehow I don't see that working without covering my body in chakra. So lets try this..."
She focused chakra to all her tenketsu and let small portions of it slip around her body, covering it in a thin blue film. This was seemingly the basis of the jutsu. She took her position next to the girl like a diver prepared for a spring board. Preparing for the most embarrassing moment of her life she dove toward the ground. With her eyes shut tight she slipped into the ground with no friction or dirt clinging to her clothes oddly. She could swim through the dirt as if it were air, she found out as she poked her head up across the yard. "Well...this is interesting. "
