Magneto studied the plans in front of him, locked away in the war room of his facility. There were only a few granted access to the gates this deep into the building. No physical doors or windows connected to it, nor was there any stairway that lead to it. The only way inside, short of tearing the building apart, was through the gate system that allowed for transportation around the facility, and even then only those with a cleared genetic signature would be able to step through.

A gate opened, and one of the few who had access stepped through.

"Hello Exodus," Magneto began. "I trust you've been well in your unexpected absence?"

"My Lord, I apologize," Exodus replied. "There were... issues I was forced to attend to."

"I'm certain there were," Magneto said. By his words, it was impossible to tell if he knew more than he let on, but as long as he wore that helmet there wasn't a telepath on the planet who could learn for sure. "Anyway, behold... my vision for the Brotherhood's first 'class project'."

Exodus' eyes grew wide as he noted the blueprints for Xavier's grounds laid out in explicit detail on several monitors. "My Lord... do you think they're ready for something like this?" he asked, realizing that they'd most likely be going up agianst the X-Men. "Those students, children though they may be, are powerful, and they outnumber the students we have. Even with the Acolytes backing them up--"

"Which they won't be, I'll be the only one accompanying them," Magneto interrupted.

"Still! They are far more impressive a force than they appear!"

Magneto stared Exodus in the eye for a moment. "And exactly... how are you so aware of their abilities?" he asked.

Exodus stopped, and got quiet. Magneto turned away, almost as if he didn't expect an answer. "I would surely hope that you are remembering your place in all of this," he said. "There is no room in what I am planning for soldiers who act without my orders."

And with that, Magneto was content to let the matter drop for now. There were more pressing issues that needed his attention.

OOC: Jacen, if you want to continue this from Exodus' point of view, let me know, I just figured that it'd be necessary for Magneto to at least suspect his follower's actions in his absence.

OOC: Actually it's still night at Xaviers but I'm going to speed things along. Seems like we have a few people waiting for 'the next day.' Reiver or LOTM, if either of you want to fill in with pool activities that's cool. I just know that a few other characters are waiting on the sun coming up.

IC:

After thirty minutes of swimming pool revenge amongst the four soaking wet teenagers, Penny couldn't hold back her fatigue any longer. Kitty was stiffling a yawn herself. She was the first to climb out and everybody else soon followed. They walked back into the Institute through the patio doors and tracked water through the hallways having no towels.

"The cleaning lady will love us," Jamie said and bid everybody good night. Kitty phased through a wall to her destination.

"The silence is eerie, but at least you'll get some sleep now. You have dry clothes?," Penny stood at Jacen's doorway.

"I remember where the closet is to raid," He pointed across the way to the 'Lost and Found' that had everything a resident of Xavier's could possible need. She smiled and gave him and quick kiss goodnight. Her skin was freezing and she dearly wantd to get out of her wet clothes.

The bedroom was silent. Regina wasn't there. Penny read a quick note scrawled to her that she and Jonothan had gone out. Smiling Penny commented taking off her wet uniform, "Well, for your sake, I hope I don't see you in the morning, Regina. Girl needs some action dearly."

After brushing and braiding her mane of hair, she dried the floor with a towel and went to find her pajamas. After about three drawers of random stuff, she vowed to actually become organized so she didn't have to sit naked finding what she was looking for. Camisol and pajama pants later, she lay in bed and stared at the dark ceiling listening to her headphones. It had been no more than two weeks since she was able to sleep, since her father passed away. Despite her fatigue, sleep rarely came and when it did, she was plagued with nightmares.

"Damn," She huffed after about a half hour and went and stood on the balcony for a bit. Looking down the row of windows, she bit her lip and tried to figure out what to do. After their exhausive fight with the Acolytes, she knew she would collapse if she didnt get any sleep. Her body would require a horse tranquilzer so she didn't bother talking to McCoy about it.

Walking quietly out of her room and down the corridors as not to wake anybody else at that hour, she stopped at Jacen's door and debated on whether or not to bother him. The poor guy got as little sleep as she did. She knocked on his door lightly and opened it up a crack. She whispered, "Jacen, you awake?"

"Kind of," He said slightly agitated at being disturbed from an almost sleep, "You ever going to let me sleep?"

"Yes, can I ask you a question?" She slid in and closed the door just as quietly as she opened it. The room was dark save for the moonlight through the window. Her eyes saw clearly enough where her feet were safe to walk and that she could sit on the edge of the bed okay enough.

"Depends on what it is, Evie," he tried to make a joke but really was tired.

"Can I sleep here? Just sleep, I haven't been able to for two weeks... really sleep. Since my father passed away... I ju-"

"When did this happen?" He sat up and she realized she hadn't had a chance to tell him about her life since he left the beach. She kinda started explaining what happened and went on about her few bouts with restless sleep.

"You make me feel safe," She admitted and then made a small joke, "Despite the fact that we both constantly have targets on our back..."

Markus strolled out of his room rubbing his neck. He hated getting sick. But he had at least kicked the cold that had downed him for the last few days. "I hate being sick..." He mumbled to himself. He decided to head out and look for something to eat. He looked absently at a slip that described classes of some sort. "Hhhhhhmmmm........." He had been to sick to really look at it.

"Like deer we are hunted it seems," Jacen said quietly. He wasn't really able to sleep well this night. He was aching from his recent woundage. The chlorine in the pool didn't bode well for a relatively opened wound. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have a fresh bandage when he laid down and knew that was not smart. Of course, no one accused him of being a genius.

"Hon....," Jacen said trailing off, "If you feel like you'll get the rest you need...." He placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed gently.

"But what about you? I'm sure you've not slept much," she asked.

"Honestly...I was hardly awake...or hardly asleep. It depends on your point of view." Jacen smiled softly while looking at Evelyn. With one swipe, Jacen picked up a couple of the painkillers that McCoy had given him along with the glass of water on his nightstand, and ingested the medicine. "Damn Senyaka...," Jacen said under his breath.

"I know...that wound doesn't really look too great."

".....Yea...but soon, hopefully, I'll actually nod off......"

"....Yea...."

Jacen stopped squeezing her shoulder when he realized he was just sitting here, kind of staring at her. "...I'm...sorry. I was kind of......just....admiring you, babe...." She smiled softly and stretched out on the bed. When she laid down, Jacen turned a bit, leaned down, gave her a kiss, then said, "Get some rest, Evelyn. Please." With that, he laid down and hoped to fall asleep himself.

He was rather engrossed with that sheet of paper he was holding and therefore failed to see a woman aproaching him. "Hem..." She cleared her throat to get his attention. "Eh?" He looked up at her. "May I help you?" He asked simply. "No, but I have been instructed to help you, my name is Vanessa Geraldine but you may vall me copycat..." She held her hand out and he took it. "My name is Markus, pleased to make your aquantince...now what do I need help with?" He asked curious. "you have been placed under my tuterage, I am in charge of infiltration and non detection...you have been noted to have a unique ability to alter your bodys shape and color to not only mimic people but objects as well...and I have been instructed to assist you in learning to make the best use of those powers..." He was silent for a long moment. "When do we start?"

After about five minutes she sighed quite audibly and sat up flicking the lamp on dim. He wasn't sleeping and looked at her with question. After leaning over and locking him in for another kiss, she couldn't help it, it was like an addiction, "I'll be back."

"What are you doing?" He asked her as she stood up and walked towards the door.

She smiled back at him, "Fixing you up. One less thing off my mind this evening."

"Evie, you don't have to worry about me," He motioned for her to come back.

"I will anyway," She answered and went acrossed the hallway to one of the closets to grab first aid materials. Xavier's was usually stocked with first aid on most floors... the students tended to need it at any given time. She came back and shut the door going through the same motions at the beach. Disinfection and then bandaging, "I'm sorry for sending you into the pool. I didn't realize how bad your wound was."

"Don't worry about it," He said and took the peroxide from her hands and put it on the end table. Reaching over her he shut out the light, "Now come here and rest."

Throwing the bed sheet over her, he grabbed her by the hips and slid her across the bed. Penance couldn't help but squeak when he did that and laughed, "Ooo, I like it when you're forceful."

"It's the only way to get you to listen. Damn headstrong woman," He stroked her hair as she nestled beside him with her head leaning on his chest.

Closing her eyes and yawning, she mumbled, "Yea, you know you like it."

She heard him laugh before she finally passed out into some kind of sleep, hopefully a restful one... and she had slept for a fair amount of the night until a normal dream turned into one of panic and fear. His hand was around her neck and was blocking her airway.

"You can't run from me," The vile voice said in her dream and plunged a blade through her side, in that same spot she was wounded before. She shot up from her sleep gasping for air like it had really been sucked from her. Her arms wrapped around her stomach like she really had been wounded. The nightmares wouldn't go away.

Her sudden movement either woke Jacen up or caught his attention. He put his hand on her back and asked her if she was okay. She went rigid for a bit and then got her bearings again laying back down, "A nightmare again, I'm sorry."

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked as she leaned against him again.

"I would rather try and sleep again," She answered truthfully but was more afraid to tell him what her nightmares were of. Rage... Jacen... Rage haunts me. Everytime I try to sleep, he's there threatening everything I know and love.

Blair opened his eyes to the sun shining brightly into his eyes. Grumbling the pale young man rolled out of bed, noticing he was still in his outfit from the previous battle. He went over to the window and tried to enjoy the landscape but the sun burned his eyes and skin to an annoying degree so he closed the blinds.

Making note to put up the new furniture items such as the black curtains he bought in the marketplace at the beach later, Blair grabbed a towel, rubbing his eyes, and walked to the boy's locker room to shower.

Peeling off his skintight outfit and undergarments, Blair turned the knobs to make the water rushing over him as hot as possible. The room filling up with steam, Blair thought about many things he put off for the past week or so.

Why had he come with the X-men in the first place? Oh yes, they saved him from that Ahab's trickery. Remembering that bit of information, he thought about how little he knew about the facility, his powers, or even the people he had been fighting with just hours before. That needed to be resolved, he thought.

Concluding that he needed to find direction in his life and maybe if he could figure out his institute, gain some training...he may just be able to finally do that.

Coming out of the boy's locker room, towel wrapped around him, he brushed past Bobby coming out of their room.

"Morning.."

Bobby just grumbled and rustled his hair; shrugging, Blair walked into his room and slipped on his black leather pants and black and red pin-striped shirt.

Rushing to the bathroom to apply his eyeliner and fix his hair, more thoughts rushed through his head. About Jacen's rescue...the beach...his powers going haywire at the beach....tattoos...the Brotherhood...Freya and Wanda...

Brushing it all off, Blair rushed down the stairs to go meet Jean Grey for the Photography class he signed up for.

OOC: Kinda choppy, not too proud of it. Meh. It'll do.

Courtney was at an extremely lavish party, dressed in a form-fitting Pucci dress and her hair in an elaborate up-do. She had just finished a small joke and the ring of people around her had laughed while she clear her throat with a flute of champagne. No one seemed to notice that she and several other teens were at least five years under-aged for alcohol. That didn’t matter, because Courtney tasted nothing, not even when she clearly took sips.

“Courtney, dear! We must simply get together for-“ An on-looker started, but was quickly caught off by the bang of the double doors of the party. They had been thrown open and standing there were three men, covered in ammo and weapons. They pointed at Courtney and shot. Most of the bullets made contact, but some made just make loud cracking noises from a seemingly invisible wall. The party seen had faded from Courtney’s view.

“You are dead, Courtney Ann Turner. You are no longer of use to anyone.” A cold voice said. The party had melted into the room Courtney had been in early, the one she had met her mentor, Reagan Wynngrade in. Corky sucked in a deep breath and rubbed her forehead.

“I know, Miss Wynngrade. I know.” Her hair was back to being hung loosely around her shoulders, it looked curlier now more than ever. She was in her original 700$ outfit, the cigarette long put out in the ashtray next to her Fendi bag.

“Yes, well, you’ve known for three times now and you’ve still died. I suggest you re-think what you know.”

“I’ve gotten so much better! I’ve probably made more progress than any of the other students.” Corky shot back, very irritated.

“That’s true.” Reagan said, still looking very stern. “Your glass wall was thick enough to stop bullets from doing dangerous damage and it was clear enough to seem nonexistent, but your reaction time is still to slow. You are still worthless.”

Courtney rolled her eyes but didn’t say anything. They had been practicing for three consecutive times now, and she was getting tired. Each time, Reagan’s illusions would send her to a different fabulous party, with a different floor plan and timing. Today’s lesson was learning poise and grace, but constantly being on the edge to defend herself. Corky didn’t really understand or like it, and she was damn well ready for a break.

“Once more, shall we?” Reagan suggested. Courtney groaned, clearly bored and tired of this, but her teacher didn’t pay the slightest attention. It took effort to do these illusions, though they weren’t nearly as complex as they could be. Corky positioned herself accordingly and watched as the room around her faded into something so expensive and lavish, people rarely got to see.

Jacen lay there with Evie next to him. He hadn't fallen asleep yet, the pain meds were a little slow to react. While he lay there, he kept an eye on her movements, and noticed that she had her right hand resting on her side; the same side nigh-fatally stabbed her in....

"Evelyn....hon," Jacen said quietly before kissing the back of her head.

"Huh?," she asked. She wasn't quite asleep yet, or again as the case was. Slowly, he slid his hand over the one she had covering her scar. Odd that it scarred, all things considered.

"I can't say how sorry I am that I attack you....even if I was under someone else's control."

Evie rolled onto her other side to face him. "I've told you before, Jacen. I know it's not your fault." She gave him a kiss for reassurance.

"Yea...but....." Jacen stopped silent for a second, remembering that night. He didn't remember how he got in the woods, but he did remember holding Evelyn in his arms, her blood almost covering him completely. "I...I almost lost you."

"And I almost lost you earlier." She had started to run a stray finger up and down his arm while they lay there. "Not that it makes us even....but....I know what you went through." They both laid there for a few moments, just looking at each other; Penance running her fingers up and down Jacen's arm, Jacen's arm lazily draped over Penance. Then, he decided to speak up for a moment.

"....I heard what you said over the commlink before I helped to bring that castle to the ground, hon....," Jacen said with a small grin on his face. "I love you too, Evie." With that, he leaned in a gave her a rather nice goodnight kiss. As he lay back down, he found himself just staring into Penance's eyes. Eventually, sleep did manage to take over, much to his future relief.

Teagan found herself, rolling over in bed and crashing onto the floor. She grumbled slightly, looking up to see if she had woken Gen. Thankfully, she hadn't. Blinking a few times as she adjusted to the light that was streaming in the window, she sat up.

"Note to self, quit doing that!" She muttered, standing up and stretching. She grabbed some clothes, quickly changing into jeans and a t-shirt before heading out of the room.

She yawned, rubbing her eyes as she made her way down the stairs. Oh yeah. Photography today. That should be fun.

Looking up, she spotted Blair at the bottom of the stairs.

"Hey Blair." She said, stifling a small yawn.

She felt slightly guilty. Her mind was torn between telling Jacen the truth about her dreams and knowing it would hurt him or keeping it to herself and hiding that secret from him. There should be no secrets for as much as they go through together, for as much as they cared. She knew she had to tell him... but hoped they would stop all together and she could keep it to herself and not cause him unneeded stress.

"Ah, Jacen, I don't know what I'd do without you," her voice whispered while she watched him fall asleep since it was avoiding her body. She pulled the sheet up over them like it was bullet proof and going to keep her demons at bay. Her arm stretched across his chest to hold onto him as she lay there like he was going to disappear in an instant. After she watched him long enough, she eventually fell into a dead sleep. His presence did almost ease her mind.

OOC1: This post doesn't say anything important, so feel free to skip over it. Just a fun little fight, since I was bored. As you'll note, it's kind of long. And there may be a second post of similarity, so only read it if you've got time. Nothing important plot-wise.

IC: Jamie slept in a bit, not worrying about reaching the morning photography class, as he had decided not to take it. He'd decided he'd take self defense, mechanics, even if it meant enduring summers, and creative writing. All of them sounded fun, and it wasn't like Jamie was doing anything. But seeing as none of the classes started until later, Jamie decided to go down to the danger room for an exercise.

Jamie stepped inside the danger room and closed the doors, giving the computer verbal commands to set up the training. He left the safeties on, and then moved to the middle of the room and drew his katana.

Some doors opened by the wall, and a group of robots that looked like samurai stepped out into the danger room. They formed a large circle around Jamie, and one of them stepped out into the middle with Jamie. I just can't get over how real this all looks. . . Jamie thought to himself. It appeared that he was standing in the middle of a battlefield. He could only assume that based on the simulation, he was the only man left of an army, and these warriors were ready to finish him off.

Jamie eyed his surroundings, noting with satisfaction that if necessary, he could grab a weapon off one of the dead bodies. He looked over at the warrior standing in front of him was smiling sardonically. "We offer you one chance of survival, boy." The warrior said, continuing his smile. "You can bow down and surrender now, or we shall have to. . . dispose of you." The warrior said with a smirk.

Jamie grinned slightly and spat at the feet of the warrior. He was really getting drawn into this hologram. . .

The warrior looked down at where Jamie spat, and looked back up at Jamie. "So you choose death boy? Good." The warrior said, drawing a katana, and a wakazashi with his left hand, and taking the stance that Musashi was known to have used. Jamie eyed the warrior, but stood straight, not taking a defensive stance. He winked at the warrior, who looked stunned for a moment, before a crazed look came over his face, and he charged at Jamie.

Jamie instantly stopped smiling, a look of intensity coming across his face, showing his natural competitively. Jamie sidestepped the samurai, and put his hand to the side, before pulling the katana in towards his body, leaving a gash in his opponents back. He could hear a groan come from his enemy, but it was muffled, and obvious that the samurai didn't want to show pain. Jamie spun to face his opponent, his katana raised in front of him.

The samurai charged in again, a look of utter abandon coming over his face. The samurai stuck at Jamie's chest, but Jamie parried the blow, causing his opponent to stumble, and Jamie brought his katana around his head in a crescent motion, slicing the samurai robot in half. Jamie smiled slightly, seeing the circuitry springing out of the now two-piece robot.

Jamie looked up to see the rest of the robots moving in on him, and seemed to decide he didn't deserve a fair fight. It was obvious looking at them that these ones weren't really samurai, but probably hired men. They lacked the honor to be samurai.

Jamie struck out at the incoming mercenaries, cutting off various limbs in a blur of motion. He danced around his enemies, but when he was trying a complex maneuver he had seen Penny do, he lost his footing and got cut up by various swords. He rolled to his feet and turned to face his opponents, and saw an axe coming towards his head. He parried the blow, but it was coming with such force that his katana flew from his hand, so Jamie danced away, grabbing a pike from the ground.

Jamie spun it around his head, and then held it in front of him, and it wavered in the air. He started jabbing at the incoming soldiers, trying to keep them back. He was doing an alright job, until one of the soldiers snuck around the back, and struck Jamie in the back. Jamie dropped to the ground, and rolled onto his back, seeing several weapons wavering around him. He spun around on his back in a way that resembled a break dancing move, kicking a pike out of the way, along with tripping two of the soldiers; he started to hop to his feet when a sword came through his back.

He looked down, and the sword slowly faded out of existence. The simulation was over, and he was dead. Jamie lowered his head and looked down at the ground, before walking over to, and grabbing his katana off the ground. He turned around to hear a gruff voice. "Not half bad kid."

"Hello sir." Jamie said, looking at Wolverine.

"Don't call me 'sir', kid. I'm not an old man." He said, before unsheathing a katana. Jamie looked at him deftly before remembering he was the one who had taught Penny. "Let me see what you've got firsthand kid."

OOC2: There we go. I'll finish it up later.

The morning came on fast but she slept through most of it. It was nice to finally just sleep without any hauntings from dead creatures or people. When her eyes adjusted to the morning, she saw that Jacen was watching her. She hadn't moved from the spot she fell asleep in so she rolled onto her back and stretched her entire body.

"What time is it?" She asked groggily. He looked over at a clock and answered, "Almost eleven."

"How long you been up?" She asked and looked at the clock out of disbelief. She never sleeps in that late.

"About an hour," He answered and kissed the top of her head, "I didn't want to disturb you."

"I'm sorry," She said and poked at his shirt, "I drooled on you too."

Sitting up and stretching, "Heh, if that's all I have to worry about today, that would be great. Seeing how our days tend to go."

Penance laughed and slid off the bed looking out the window. Jean's photography class was starting to form in the back of the house, "Hm, I don't think I'm taking any of these classes they have going on this summer. I'm going to enjoy not being a student for once."

He walked over and put his hand around her waist pulling her into him. Kissing her neck, "I'm going to go get a shower, okay?"

"Of course, I want to go see where Regina was last night," She gave him a hug and thanked him for helping her sleep. They parted ways in the hall and Penance went back to her empty room, "Now Regina, where have you been?"

Jean picked up all of the cameras she needed for her course and decided to utlize the nice day outside. Leaving a note on the photo lab door, she directed all of her students to meet her in the gardens for class. Their first lesson was going to be trying to capture textures on film with a manual camera. The garden would provide a wonderful backdrop.

Normally in mornings, Rogue was one of the first up. Today, however, it was hard to drag herself out of bed and get ready. This was most likely due to her training yesterday. She had never worked that hard before, and it put strain on her.
Rogue's thoughts went back to the movie date. What movie would they see? Would she choke on her popcorn? What good is worrying on things like popcorn anyway?

((Sorry for my absence these past few days.))
