[ Ajora : Caribbean : Captain's Quarters ]

Ajora chuckled as 'Nithhogr' spoke, amused for more than one reason, as Laan soon explained. However, it was a separate tidbit that Laan shared that heightened his interest in the entity-

"Him? Really? How is the Death Seraph these days?" Ajora asked nonchalantly, a sincere smile on his features as if he were honestly curious. He could hear a brief, ethereal chuckle in the back of his head- she'd smelled him, too, but as was her way, refused to share such a detail.

"Perhaps it would appease the old judge to know that this is merely a shade of the true woman he seeks- as I'm sure both you and I know, the true target of his hatred lies bound to my original's heart?" he mused, figuring that if Laan had any of the memories from Cory'd, he'd perhaps remember. Of course, to his knowledge, Ultima had only been summoned twice- once against Cory, and once against himself. Would Laan remember either instance?

"He'll have many a chance at the Angel's Avatar, to be certain, even if you didn't stick around- they tend to follow trouble, anyway," he spoke light-heartedly, shrugging with a chuckle. "So, Laan, what brings you here, besides my invitation? You agreed to the meeting for a reason, I'm assuming."

[Cory .:. Angel Grove .:. City]

One by one, the other earthlings and their allies chose the dark portal over the Extravaganza. One by one, Cory watched them all foolishly bathe their hearts in darkness for no other reason than that they were not afraid. One by one, he watched them all make the same mistake. Diving into the darkness because you're not afraid? Relying on it's power because you feel it cannot touch your light?... These are the exact same things that led to Riku's possession.

The rogue approached the Dark Portal himself, hands still in his pockets as he said, "I'm not wasting an Extravaganza on one person. You can all fall to darkness for all I care, so I'm not even sure why I offered." The rogue walked through the portal, the darkness tugging at his heart as his did. He was thankful then for his resistance to the darkness, as he was every time he used the corridors.

[Laan .:. Caribbean .:. Captain's Quarters]

"Quite hostile, and upset."

~

The deathknight began tuning his summon out as he continued, "As I am well aware, he understands that you do not hold the real Ultima. But like an abused women will fear all men, he will hate all forms of Ultima. Real or not." A pair of Flood suddenly appeared around Laan, popping in out of dark corridors before vanishing again. So Cory is working with the others right now?... Odd.

Laan shook his head and turned back to the conversation at hand. "I come here because of my abnormally high weakness to Light. While that weakness means nothing when fighting weaklings like Kyle, it means a lot if I were to oppose you. In addition, I know full well that my power over death makes me an valuable ally to you. I lose the only enemy who stands a chance against me, and you gain the cooperation of a Death Seraph. It's really only a logical solution."

[Dani :: Angel Grove City Streets -> Hawaiian Village]

Dani continued from this point to be silent. If people were not going to pay attention to what she said besides a few people it was their lost. She was only trying to help.

Dani then saw Cory and scowled in anger. She had not gotten over the fact that this guy had tried to kill her before she met her new friends. Now, he was offering a way to get to the volcano faster and easier than going through the Corridor? “Like I would ever use anything of his,” Dani mentally talked to herself , “What does he think we are stupid or something?”

After her mental talk with herself, she heard Demyx say for the rest to hurry up. Dani breathed in once and ran through the Corridor, feeling the tug of darkness on her heart. “I will not be beaten by darkness. It cannot force me onto its side.” Dani kept mentally saying that to herself before appearing on the Hawaiian Village.

When Dani observed this side of the volcano, it suddenly came to her that she had actually never been on this side during her 6 days of living here. The fact that she was afraid that the volcano could erupt and the fact that people kept disappearing made Dani really feel bad about not seeing something so peaceful before.

“You know,” Dani said to the group that had so far entered the portal, “As weird as this sounds, this is my first time over here. It seems a lot more peaceful over here. There is something about this place that seems familiar.” Little did Dani know that the reason why this side is familiar would hit the group really soon.

((Now prepare for Stitch Return and also cuteness.))

[Stitch :: Hawaiian Village]

Stitch was worn out from the battle before with the weird creature that had managed to wear him out. He had decided to try and head back to find Lilo to try and relax and maybe cause some mischief. He then noticed out of the corner of his eye a group of people that seemed to be coming out of a weird portal. Stitch realized that these people helped him try to defeat the bad things from before and he smiled.

He instantly crawled on his hands and feet to gain speed over to them and poked the girl with the dirty blonde hair (Bobbi if you cannot figure that out). He personally did not know the girl and did not know if she was in the fight before. “Friend..?” Stitch asked the girl while still poking the girl in the leg.

[Alan :: Angel Grove Streets -> Hawaiian Village]

Alan shrugged slightly as Cory walked past him into the portal. He was the only one to take Cory up on his offer? Well, he supposed, I guess that's not terribly surprising. As Cory left, the vague bitterness in Alan's mood gave way to pure annoyance. He was more or less sick of dealing with people. As much as he would love to just go back to the church and read, though, his duty, as he had said, awaited.

Alan stretched his arms and did his best to clear his mind as he stepped into the portal. Funny . . . it didn't feel like much. The last few times, the darkness had been an overpowering presence, but this time it was much more bearable. Have I gotten used to this already? Huh. That's . . . probably not a good thing.

Either way, Alan was surprised by the condition of the village. As the last person to arrive, Alan was pleasantly surprised to find the place decidedly not under attack. He glanced around, taking in everything, but remained silent.

{Bobbi .:. Hawaii .:. Village}

"I can hit things with a hammer if that will help," Bobbi said jokingly to Kyle. When Dani came through the portal and mentioned how the village looked familiar, Bobbi looked around again.

"Well, Hawaii is part of the U.S," she said. "I suppose there are going to be some similarities in architecture and layout, even though--"

She was interrupted by something poking her leg, and a guttural voice that was familiar from a movie she saw only a handful of times.

"Friend...?" the voice said, and Bobbi looked down to see none other than Stitch staring up at her. She couldn't have stopped the grin from crossing her face if she wanted to, and she knelt by the blue alien.

"Friend," she agreed. "I'm Bobbi."

((Demyx is still holding the portal open. Wasn't sure if I should GM everyone across, 'cause I know there are people still on the other side of it.))

[Amy ; Cloud ; Riku : Angel Grove -> Hawaii]

So she spoke about how, in her opinion, the dark portal's darkness based-ness thing probably wouldn't be able to taint a person's heart, and then some guy shows up out of a dark portal talking about the very same possibility.

Not 'some guy', she recognized. It was Cory, the guy who had kept her from falling in Beast's Castle Courtyard, what seemed like ages ago. He seemed fairly interested in talking to her then, but hadn't ever directly approached her since, something she found curious. He was hell bent on talking to Kyla not too long ago. Then there were the pictures in Kyla's notebook...

He seemed like the kind of person who only talked to you when they wanted something from you, Amy decided.

Several things he said had her tilting her head.

"Speak for yourself, Seymour. My allegiance has always been to myself, not to Ooze or anyone else...
I can get everyone over there in an instant if you're willing to trust me."

"My allegiance has always been..
.
...if you're willing to trust me...
to myself."

Alan seemed willing to try. She didn't know much about him at all, either, and so assumed his willingness to try was to avoid the dark corridor. Between Cory 'carrying them all' and the dark corridor possibly consuming their souls, or whatever, the dark corridor seemed more, uh, persuasive.

She could see no reason why he'd offer in the first place, unless, like eldest siblings are often guilty of, he wanted them to avoiding making the same mistakes he had made. Also like the eldest sibling, he had an entirely wrong way of going about it... why arrive via dark portal to suggest not using one? Amy's face mirrored her perplexity on the subject, and she kept silent while the others spoke.

The real bomb shell, though, was Bobbi's answer to Cory's 'concern'.

"Go ahead and do whatever your heart tells you is correct and right, even if your heart has been tainted by darkness? Amy said, staring at the portal Bobbi had just disappeared into. "But...when does a heart tainted by darkness have the sanity to tell right from wrong?"

From his position beside Demyx, Cloud started as though shocked. He gave Amy an odd look, which she didn't notice.

"Huh. No take backs," Riku said in reply to Cory's sudden and somewhat ironic change of heart. Amy, Dani, Cloud, and himself had not even had an opportunity to accept or decline his offer. The guy could only take so much denial, or was impatient as hell.

"Go on," he urged Amy. She looked at him skeptically, now doubting her own logic. "It can't have a hold on you unless you let it. Go on." Amy went.

Riku turned to Cloud, the only one aside from Demyx left on this side. "And you?"

Cloud's hesitation was barely noticeable. He stepped through.

With a shake of his head, Riku entered the portal as well, leaving Demyx to close it up behind them.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Cargo Hold]

~'You need to stop crying like that. You know what happens when you get like this. You get yourself sick...'~

Dawn didn't respond right away to Garuda's statement. Just continued to cry silently into her legs. She did respond however when she could hear the sound of someone coming into the cargo hold where she was hiding, even lighting a lantern to light there way. Dawn took a brief moment to peek around the corner of one of the boxes she was hiding behind to see that the person who had entered was none other than Anthony.

She shrunk as much as she could into the corner as Anthony walked by various times, obviously looking for something. Either it was very dark, or he was very blind, for he even picked a couple of items from one of the boxes she was sitting by, yet he didn't seem to notice her. At all. Something she was grateful for, but at the same time she felt rather sad as she watched him leave. Suppose no one really needed her at all at this moment.

~'If you are feeling so sad at something like that, don't you think you should go seek it out yourself? You really need some human interaction right now. Or at least have someone take a look at your hand. It really creeps me out.'~

Dawn simply shook her head as she placed her head on her knees with a soft sigh. There were more important things right now other than her hand or how she was feeling.

[Jenny :: Black Pearl :: Sleeping Quarters]

As everyone began to move around the ship, Jenny slid her hand out of Sayrike's with a feeble smile of thanks. She walked, rather aimlessly around the ship, taking great care to avoid as many people as she could. Then there was a soft exhale of breath in her mind that stopped the time mage. ...Siren? Jenny asked, her breath hitched in her throat as she waited, even though she could hear the rustling of silk caress her mind.

.:I don't like this one bit, you need your magic!:. The summon responded irritably. It would take more than a fool to not realize Siren's anger at being locked away.

"Magic..." The musician ran back towards the brig, stumbling into the room to look for Joe. She frowned when she didn't see his familiar figure leaned against the wall. Someone must've moved him. It wasn't before long that Jenny dipped her head into the sleeping quarters only to quickly pull her entire body back behind the wall. Louis was with him and Joe looked absolutely miserable.

.:What are you doing? Didn't you want to help him?:.

Yes, but what if he hates me? After all, I basically took out his eye! And... Lou-

.:-You- did not take out his eye. A splitting image of you did-:. Same difference. .:Hardly. Now... shouldn't you go to him?:. Siren interjected.

Jenny took a deep breath and peeked her head back over the door frame, her nails dug into the wood as guilt swam in her eyes. "Joe?"

[The Black Pearl ~ Crow's Nest]

"West coast," Noelle replied, staring up at the sky as she used her hands as a pillow. "California, born and raised. For the most part, anyway. There was an awful year where I lived in Arizona, but other than that I've been a beach bum every summer and a desert rat every winter."

The agromancer paused a little as she thought about it. Warm summers in the sand, cool winters underneath the stars. She would give anything to be either of those places right now. Back on her surfboard, catching waves, or on a quad in the dunes. With her family. Especially with her family. With a sigh, Noelle shook the thoughts from her head. Gotta keep positive, things were dreary enough as it was. She stayed silent, not really sure how to continue the conversation. Jacob was doing . . . lord knew what, and she didn't want him to fall if she'd distracted him.

[The Flying Dutchman ~ Captain's Quarters]

"Well that would have been nice to know." Elleon said, not really caring that she hadn't been forwarned. It was Ajora's business, not her's, so it wouldn't have mattered to her either way. "Seems like everyone can make these blasted creatures look human but me. How upsetting . . ."

When Nithhogr spoke to the blonde in a hostile manner she smiled. Her response was to roll her shoulders upward and forward, causing her breasts to push together in an eye catching way as she pursed her lips and blew a kiss. She meant nothing by it but to irritate him. When Ajora and Laan continued on with some business shpeal, Elleon leaned back on the organ bench, supporting her wieght with her arms.

"Business as usual, eh Ajora? You're just up to your neck in it. Don't you ever take a break?"

[[Louis : Caribbean Sea : Black Pearl - Sleeping Quarters]]

Louis looked up at Anthony and smiled, "I think we're fine for now. Thanks allot Anthony." Taking the bucket of water from him as Joe spoke, the arcanist looked around then at the water and sighed, "I said no talking out of you. Hold on a sec." He bent down and dunked the towel in the water, pulling it back up with a light squeeze so it wouldn't drip everywhere. Louis lifted it up and pressed it to Joe's lips, water pressing out of the towel.

"Bite," he commanded Joe, before acknowledging Jenny, waving her in, "He's a little out of it right now, Jenny, but I'm sure he'll be fine after some water and well deserved rest. No need to worry." Louis went silent for a moment then asked out of concern, "Are you alright? Need something? or just want to talk to Joe?"

Jacob ll Crow's Nest

"Eh. I've never been out there. I've been as far as Texas. Also, I'm sorry if this is bothering you. I feel like sometimes I get so much pent up energy that I have to use it." Jacob said, now sweating and turning pink. "Like now. Rather than sit around and wallow in my anger, or take it out through drugs, drinking, anger, et cetera, I choose a directed catharsism...a beneficial one...working...out." Jacob, now finishing his 25th lap around the crow's nest struggled to pull himself up. One arm, then the other, wrapped over the top as he heaved himself and flopped onto his back. "So yeah. My arms hurt now." He said, half laughing, half panting. He closed his eyes and peered through the dark lenses of his goggles up at the sky.

[ Kyle : Caribbean : Pearl's Lower Decks ]

Kyle remained silent for the latter part of the conversation as Louis and Anthony spoke. Dawn, as a subject matter, made Kyle want to recoil away from the world, to hide away where no one could find him. Bringing up the topic of helping Joe directly after almost served to take his mind off of it, but when he followed and actually watched them help...

We used to live for situations like that...
Our love of theatrics...
We don't play favorites...
Ever the objective ones, aren't we?
We always did have a knack for poetry...
It's so perfectly dramatic!
How wonderful a story this makes!

.:It really bothers you... doesn't it?:.

Kyle didn't respond, though his mind continued to play the scenario over and over, like a broken record. He remained in the background, watching as they helped Joe; when Jenny arrived, looking through the doorway, calling out Joe's name, he felt another pang- Alice, that woman who was now obviously her doppelganger (but not her Replica- something he decided to ponder later) was on Ajora's side.

Our side.

Kyle's head seemed to recoil, twitching slightly to the side as he'd been hit by a sudden pang of head pain. Silently, he walked away from the room, instead heading toward the brig, now mostly empty. He looked at the bars- how similar in shape (though an obvious improvement, hygiene-wise) they were to the ones they'd been locked behind. His hand reached out to touch them, to slide across them...

He could see them behind the bars. All of them- Joe, Dawn, Jenny, Jacob, Louis... everyone but himself. He could see them in their positions, all staring at him, all looking at him with disgust or timidity. Could see them rage at the bars, shouting at him as he pulled out Rae's heart- he looked down into his empty palm and could see the heart, hovering there, waiting to be tainted or destroyed...

.:Please, don't let that man's foolishness get to you, Kyle, we both know he is nothing like you.:.

No... that's where you're wrong.

He turned to the separate cell, walking in through its open door. He could see James there, hanging against the wall. He stretched out his hand, could see it covered in Darkness, could feel the pulsing heart beneath James' chest. Could hear his screams, and the screams of those behind him. He walked out of the cell, turning around to face it with an outstretched arm- he could feel Dawn's hand in his, could see the absolute fear in her eyes as she stared into his own, cold orbs...

It's so... perfectly dramatic. How... how wonderful a story this makes.

.:No, Kyle, even if his original source was you, he's been tampered with, that much is obvious. You've been nothing but beneficial to these peasants.:.

Have I? If I'd never joined them, then... chances are, none of this would have happened. The Mateus and Chaos incidents wouldn't have happened. What am I doing here, Ultima? How am I helping anyone?

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Sleeping Quarters --> Cargo Hold]

Anthony chuckled at Joe's last comment. "If I knew how to stop the ship from spinning," the dark haired man began, "I wouldn't be so easily nauseous every time I'm on a boat." The warrior-knight nodded and smiled at Louis, then took a step back to give the man some room so he could tend to Joe's injuries more comfortably.

About this time, Anthony's mind began to wonder back to the whisper he heard while in the cargo hold. In fact, he was so preoccupied by the thought he didn't even notice Jenny call for Joe until Louis addressed her. He could read the guilt that was clearly written across her face.

"I'm gonna go check the hold for some other supplies," Anthony said. "Maybe there's some medicine or something that'll help ease Joe's pain. B.R.B--I mean... ...lulz, J.K... be right back. ...erm... Yeah." Before making things more awkward for himself, Anthony turned and walked out the room, smiling at Jenny as he passed her by, then made his way back to the hold.

"Hello...?" Anthony said as he picked up the lantern and walked further into the hold. "Creepy old english voice guy? Are you down here--OHMYGOSHWHATWASTHAT?!" the warrior-knight cried out, turning around and entering some sort of karate chop stance, as he heard a sudden shuffle from behind the crates. The bearded man cautiously approached the crates which the sound originated from behind and peered over them to discover the source of the sound to be none other than Dawn.

"You!" Anthony said, pointing his finger at Dawn accusingly. "You're the creepy old english voice guy from early!" Though it was dark, the lantern lit her face enough for the man to tell she was still upset. Anthony walked around the crates and sat across from her and asked, sympathy in his voice, "Hey, are you... are you gonna be alright?"

[Quistis :: The Black Pearl :: Pearl's Lower Decks]

Quistis had watched the group since they had escaped the brig of the previous ship, and she had seen nothing but caring and kindness for the unfortunate incidents that had taken place previously. The one who had his eye attacked had been in the care of three different people. Even the girl who looked like the one known as Alice was very concerned for his well being. Then the one they left behind. The one who was dressed like a pirate. One of the girls seemed concerned for him. Maybe these people were more trustworthy than she thought.

She rose from her sitting position and moved towards the one with the green jacket. He seemed lost in thought, no doubt pondering on the guy who looked exactly like him with the evil monologue, the rending of the man's eye, and the torture of the pirate. Quistis finally looked at the blonde man and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"...Are you alright? I've noticed you've been lost in your thoughts. Care to share them?"
