Patsy Walker I see nothing wrong with getting lots and lots of presents from people, Kyle. Uh...neither do I. However I do have a problem with hiding consumerism behind a faux-holy curtain and having it shoved in my face day after day for three months in this country that was based on religious freedom. Im confident in saying that, on average, I get as many gifts from my loved ones as any Christmas celebrator does. My advantage? They come year round. They mean more since theyre "just because," not because "its the day for it and I better be getting a present in return."

I celebrate it because I enjoy finding good presents for my friends and family. Yes it is the birthday of Jesus, but to me that is completely seperate in every way from Christmas trees and Gingerbread Lattes from Starbucks.

Virgil Hawkins Ditto. Well said. 3nodding Thanks. I was born and raised Catholic, went to Catholic schools until I graduated from high school and I certainly don't remember anything in the Bible or related works about a fat guy coming down the chimney with presents. Sure it's supposedly derived from St. Nicholas but the Catwoman movie was supposedly derived from the comic books. It's also a chance for families to spend good quality time together which just doesn't happen alot anymore, especially when the kids grow up.
