"I forgot to ask you," she said suddenly. "Do you mind having tomatoes on the burger. I know that they help with something in your body but I can't remember what."

The waiter didn't say anything but rather just stood there waiting for an answer from the person sitting across from the female client. He looked patient as he usually did and had his pen poised to cross anything off.

“A large consumption of tomato can help improve skin texture and color. Tomato is a good blood purifier; Tomato helps in cases of congestion of the liver and protects the liver from cirrhosis, as well as for dissolving gallstones. Tomato is a natural antiseptic therefore it can help protect against infection Nicotinic acid in tomatoes, can help to reduce blood cholesterol, thus helps prevent heart diseases. Vitamin K in tomatoes helps to prevent hemorrhages. Tomato contain lycopene, the red pigment in tomato, this pigment is a powerful antioxidant that can also fight cancer cells..." said Mitch softly as he raised his head a little to look at Delilah, "that’s what tomato's can do to help the human body. I'm not fond of tomatos though; ketchup is fine though as long as it's used sparingly." He breathed out a heavy sigh and his lips twitched slightly into an almost smile.

"Keep the tomato," she said after a moment. "You need it for your heart after all and it's only one slice. Besides Cast would tell you to eat the tomato."

She herself didn't like tomatoes that much and she preferred to eat them only on hamburgers and felt that one would be missing out if it wasn't on there. The waiter left and she seemed to relax a bit.

"He probably would, but he's not here. He hasn't been around for a long time. It's time he came home, on his vacation I'll help him I suppose. The sooner this cure is found the sooner you two can be a happy couple. Then you can live your lives together. Finding a cure for a desiese will bring in lots of money and you two could probably retire, have a good life. Start your own family." he sighed and looked back at Delilah after he'd been staring at the wall behind her for a while.

She frowned slightly when she was reminded. She always missed him and she was worried he'd meet one of those nurses. She let out a sigh finally and just looked at the table with a dull expression. It felt like Mitch always spoke as if Cast was the only one suffering in this situation.

Mitch twitched slightly and stared at Delilah, "don't worry. I know you’re in pain to, don’t think about something you know nothing about, you should ask before jumping to conclusions and actually think, your so smart...why do you demoralize?" a grin appeared on his face but it didn't really seem like his. It was somehow colder and more alienated. “Love is getting sick isn’t it?” he played with the table cloth. “Maybe you could help that little girl in the hospital. She’s going to die soon. I saw her, she’s losing. But think, real hard. It’s a little easy if you do, the cure is simple. What is the disease hitting mainly? If you can figure that out...you just saved the girls life.” His skin got more ill looking and his smile just turned into something fake, he wasn’t smiling at all, it was a frown in disguise.
He grabbed a napkin and a pen from his pocket, Mitch drew the human body but certain lines were thicker. That being the spine, the feet, and the head. “What is the disease hitting mainly Delilah? What needs to change?” he stopped and put the pen down, his mocha eyes widened slightly, he knew what needed to be done but who was going to do it? Who would be a match? Would Delilah figure out what he knew? He didn’t feel like himself at the moment, he felt like nothing, he felt nothing.
“Think.”

Delilah almost looked frightened by Mitch's expressions. She didn't even looked at him now. Why was he asked her that kind of a question. She knew about losing people but she didn't know anything about the human body. She didn't speak at all but rather ignored the rest of what he had said, closing herself into her own little sanctuary and her expression became lifeless. It was her defense mechanism for the part and it was sometimes hard to crack through. It was usually a stranger who did it.

The teacher grabbed his head and dug his nails into his skull, "feel your spine, think of what your brain looks like, move your ankles. Think of the motion you have...then think of hers. It's easy, just think." he said softly and shook his head; he wanted to yell out the answer. It was so easy, all you had to do was find a donor, and switch spinal plates, pieces of the brain, and make a switch with the nerves. By doing that the healthy donor would destroy the disease with their own healthy body and the healthy pieces in the SCD patient would destroy the left over’s from the disease. Thus creating a cure of SCD. The SCD patient had a higher chance of living in that procedure though; the healthy donor would most likely go into a coma or die.
Mitch let his hands drop and his expression returned to normal. He breathed out heavily and calmed down. When his brain got like that it often just took over. His eyes dimmed a little, "Delilah, you have to be the one to tell him. He's your husband and I'm no doctor. Your a nurse though, so you have the right to tell Cast this. Think, spine, brain, nerves." his body relaxed and he slumped in his seat.

She was thinking but it didn't look like it. after a moment she just nodded her head. They might be able to find people but it was highly unlikely. This would require someone who was older or someone who was near death. She would not want to sacrifice one life for another. It wasn't worth it. She let out a slight sigh after a moment as the waiter came to give them their milkshake.

"If you know what has to be done, talk to my uncle and get his approval to sign him up to be tested, also sign me up. You'll need all the people you can get, to be tested. The more clients you have to be tested, the more chance you have of actually saving this kid. I’ll explain the testing process to Cast later... Uncle Anthony will most likely agree, no matter what Aunt Mary says. You need to talk to Cast about this first though, then he will have to talk to other scientists... the scientists will approve...the donor will most likely be one from our family, the hearty family, the girls family, or a family with foreign blood. You will most likely find a donor, and then the girl will live." He tiredly closed his eyes, “sometimes it pays to be a freak...” he sighed and his stomach growled; he blushed beat red and looked ready to hide under the table.

"That was your stomach and it signifies that you are hungry," she said coldly. "Now eat before I shove it down your throat." She would snap out of it soon since she was just trying to concentrate and his talking was annoying her. Him eating usually made him quiet which gave her space to think.

Mitch smiled, "Ok!" and when the food came he just ate his half of the burger. He actually ate his half rather quickly and shakily with a panicked expression on his face, but he still ate it. He didn't even fight about it or think about it. He wiped his mouth on a napkin and nervously wrapped his arms around himself while staring wide eyed out the window. He was acting like a freak for some reason but thought nothing of it.

"Did you even taste it?" she asked. "Because the entire reason for you to come here was to taste the burger so maybe you could try to make something like it at home."

She'd picked up her half of the burger and began to slowly eat it, almost purposefully to just annoy him. She didn't feel like nagging him about the dangers of eating too fast since they should be known to him already.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:49 pm

“I tasted it! It was very good we should make it at home I hope I remember the ingredients to it but I’m sure I will I normally do it was good, I’m sorry! I should have slowed down!” he said it very quickly and was sort of about ready to jump from his seat and out a window in a minute. “I’m sorry I should have slowed down eating it, I’m such a screw up. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry!”

"Just drink the milkshake slowly," she said with a sigh. "And stop acting like a basket case. It's kind of embarrassing." She was eating very slowly since she always enjoyed this restaurant's food. It made her satisfied, especially when she had a half-burger with half a milkshake.
