((O_O ... *dies from scaryness of new layout* Oh well. At least they got rid of that thing at the top that changed when you scrolled over it. That was annoying. And now! *drags topic kicking-and-screaming away from OOC*))
Lounging in the branches of the tree, Manikarnik flips her hat neatly off her head, twirling it upsidedown with one hand. Reaching inside, she pulls out a butterfly knife a flips it open, placing her hat back on her head and leaning over to the trunk of the tree. Digging the tip on the knife into the bark, she begins carving something there.

((Ya. Scary layout indeed. Didn't they say it'd be easier to navigate? It doesn't look any less confusing.))
Serene jumps up to Mani's branch to see what she's doing. She balances using her legs as support and looks over her shoulder at the beginnings of a carving and pokes at the knife.
"Ooo, pretty knife. Whatcha doing?"

serenesan Serene jumps up to Mani's branch to see what she's doing. She balances using her legs as support and looks over her shoulder at the beginnings of a carving and pokes at the knife. "Ooo, pretty knife. Whatcha doing?" Manikarnik appears to be carving some sort of sharp, angular looking symbol, possible a character in some foreign tounge. She pauses, leans back and turns face-to-face with Serene, grinning. "It's a balisong." With a flick of her wrist, she closes the blade. "As to what I'm doing..." she pauses, considering the half-carved symbol engraved into the bark. She frowns briefly. "I... I'm not really sure." Flipping open the knife again, she sits with the blade hovering inches from the bark, unsure. "Eh." She closes the blade and tucks it away. Hands on her knees, she looks back at Serene. "I've no idea what I'm goin' on about, lass," she says with a distinctly Irish accent. "You?"

"A balisong," Serene repeats, examining the blade from where she is. She leans back on her heels at Mani's other reply. She opens her mouth to reply but, unable to think of a suitable response, she closes it and smiles wryly. "Guess I'm not so sure myself.." She sighs, unsure what to do with herself. "Breaks are so boring. There's so little to do and so much time to get rid of."

Spike continues to walk slowly around the island. After 3 more fulll laps he turns inland and finds his way to the center of the place. Sighing heavily he sits down on the grass, then slams down onto his back.
"Damn I'm bored..."
