Any way I can get a specific weapon that's not listed in the typical weapon list?
I'm looking at Nanashi possibly hauling around an 'eku'. That's an oar, a weapon used widely in the Okinawan martial arts schools. You can find video of kata for it on youtube.
Any ideas?

It looks like a Bo with a flat part on one end, does this weapon have the same uses and maneuverability of a Bo ? I mean in terms of disarming and dealing damage. Cause if that's so then I say it should deal 2 - 8 damage and would grand bonus in disarming weapons as well as +2 dodge bonus and +4 vs ranged attacks. Could do a bit more. But I have really no experience with it >_<.

Hmm. It's like a bo, but with the flat edge and weight making it a tad slower. Along with smacking people with the flat of the blade, it can do slicing and blunt stab maneuvers, as well as digging into the earth to throw dirt in the opponent's face. It's way nastier than people would give it credit for.
Here's the wiki info:
Eku (sometimes spelled eiku or ieku) is an ancient weapon of Okinawan kobudÅ that originated from an oar, approximately 160 cm in length. According to myth, the oar was traditionally adapted for use as a weapon of self-defense by fishermen against foes armed with more conventional weapons. ...since quality weapons were expensive, the civilians had to use what equipment they had. The Ryuku oar came to represent the Naginata...
Usually before learning eiku properly, one has to master the bo. The eiku has a displaced center of gravity and is heavier than the bo, and is thus considered more difficult to master. Because of its weight, eku techniques are also often capitalized on the momentum of large circular attacks. The blade is also used for creating and manipulating air pressure, giving it a higher acceleration and manouvering velocity.
Actually, with that info, I could see her learning the bo first, then moving on to the eku (a heirloom weapon from her father) when she's a bit stronger (strength 8? So not picking up the thing yet. Besides, she's only nine years old.)
Dang. Looking over the bloodlines, Fujiko would be perfect for her, but it doesn't look like there's any activity in Amegakure....

Hum yeah sounds about what I expected out of it. Seems like I would have to give different damage to each sides of the weapon. Also I have many irl friends who are masters with the Bo so I know how nasty that weapon can be...
As for the Eku I believe I can work something out for the flat part.

3nodding Indeed, I will look for some videos on katas and maybe some 3d pics of it, cause for what I read that thing can hurt like ********, specially if you make a refined weapon out of it. "To balance out both sides." All in all I love it and I love the idea of more weapon masters going around.

Yup, a bo can technically break all your bones to dust one by one, so i take that Eku thing should have about the same effect, not to mention you can attack near the throat to cause shocking and many other things sad .

Any suggestions on a starting village? I can't really tell how much RP some of the villages are getting. I mean, she'd go well in Amegakure, but there's very little movement there, it seems.
