Exxos Camwen Exxos Since gaia made the ever-broken avatar builder, we're pretty much SOL, yes. Well gahhhhh flippity glipppity blehehhhhhh! Seriously Gaia? You know I want to like you Gaia but you make it so darn difficult. I'm here for Exxos though. At least he's someone in the universe that's worth it. *nods* So I did see something about this so called avatar builder thing. Has it ever worked at all? It has only worked in giving gaia legal validity against tektek/recolor. It's gone up and down so many times that I am seriously wondering how they can possibly not make it work. In the three times I have tried it while it was "working," I got empty dressing room errors on half the items I tried, green goo errors, and a browser crash. It's that special type of coding the new gaia is known for – lots of bloat and lots of errors. I mean, the old gaia had MOVIES. You could watch hosted anime. Now they can't manage what is essentially the code they already have in the marketplace and member avatar pages. The code essentially already exists because of the "try these things on for sale right now" at the bottom of our avatar pages, so it literally should be "add all items to that, put on separate page." I remember the movies crying Or when announcements were actual announcements and not just ads. xp

Well I still really like the look of the avys and haven't found another place that's has as a compelling look. Also the guilds and other forums are set up in a user friendly way. So yeah, Gaia still fills a niche that I haven't found anywhere else yet.

Plus with how long we've been here, it's only proper that we ride it into the ground. rofl On a side note, though we do not have the membership active to make it a reality, I was thinking of a way to do an AGA post rewarding system that would not just outright support who posted the most. Then it occurred to me that I could just take the number of posts at the beginning of the duration and the end of the duration to find out how many posts each person made and then give them that many raffle tickets. Then at the end of the duration, you raffle the prizes. So more posts do favor more prizes, but does not assure so.

Which reminds me of the XKCD ball pit comic.
Which in turn reminds me of the ball pit we were installing in the canteen.
Which is probably festering with spiders and disease now. rofl

Is it just me, or does gaia seem to have "random" sixth or seventh day blackouts? I have no been able to log on for a good 40 hours, but it does not seem to effect many – almost as if it's artificial.

I haven't noticed anything like that personally but I don't try to log in every day either.

I am not saying it is like they are trying to keep people out of the daily chances or such though, just like it is almost metered. Kind of like metered on ramps onto freeways. That perhaps that is what they did under the hood to get the costs of upkeep under a certain threshold, they're giving each user a certain amount of hours or log-ins per week. This isn't something I would mind if they just came out and said so though, it's a viable way to reduce server load. If we see a news report about their getting a new server or switching things up, it would likely confirm it. That they were just running the entire site on fewer with a visit meter while they were working one over.

They might be limiting your internet by blocking certain sites.
