You wouldnt happen to understand Acid-Base equilibrium?
Yep. Ask away.
How to calculate the Ph of a 0.02M hydrazine solution (H2NNH2) with hydrazine being a weak base. Its Kb= 1.3x10^-6
@Saphen- I know who to ask when I have a question on that then.
blaugh *brushes up on molarity*
Uh...-log10(1.3x10^-6) would be the Ph of 1.0 M, one mole per liter...so, 0.02 M is one mole per 50 liters. Uh.
*calculates*
I really don't think I did this right, but, that log value would get close to 7. The calculator said the value was -5.88, so get rid of the minus sign for the pH to get 5.88. 7 - 5.88 = 1.12; 1.12 / 50 =~ 0.02, 7 + 0.02 =~ 7.02. (Those steps cut the distance between 5.88 and 7 down by a factor of 50)
Like I said, I really don't think I did it right, but 7.02.
