After everything had quieted down, Stan the Prophet of Doom stood up and brushed himself off. Shooting a bullet between someones eyes was pratically impossible when the person was already running away and not facing them. Amazingly, the bullet had hit none other than Stan's lucky alcohol flask. He got up, and headed to the Stadium where he'd soon arrive and continue his message of warning.

The officer watched Stan go off once the thugs had ran off. Poor old guy, he thought, I hope he doesn't get in any more trouble.

"Stay out of trouble ya old coot!" the officer yelled, as one of the scientists came out with a beaker and ran toward the shore despite a severe limp in an attempt to get a water sample.

::The water was relaxed and calm. The water filled the beaker, and as the scientist moved to return back to shore, the beaker had dissolved into nothing in his hand and the water had soaked into the sand. It was being quite difficult.::

*Enki walks back to the pier, having completely missed the firefight and old bum, but does indeed catch the scientists futile attempt at gathering water. This, actually, was the exact same thing he went to the science lab to figure out, but every one of them had the same problem. Enki walks over to the man and glances down at the mostly dissolved beaker, then to the water*

Need help with that, sir?

There was one problem with Stan somehow being alive, the thug had shot him, then ran and shot at the officer. Whether the officer would be hit would be arguable, but there was absolutely certainty in the bullet finding it's way into the bum's brain.

And hip flasks would be no protection from a bullet.

::No. But a bullet would. To this day we likely still dont know who the shooter was that actually managed to shoot the bullet mid course on its way to Stan. But we do know that a supernatural power of some sort had to be involved. Most likely the shooter reacted to the sound of the trigger being pulled and calculated trajectory with supernatural skill and managed to infact shoot the bullet mere inches before it reached Stan. What skills were used is unknown, as well as what powers were manifested.

But in a world where a random street thug wielding a likely illegally purchased gun outdraws, and out aims a group of military trained professionals...apparently anything is possible. And so while standard concepts of reality are being tossed out the window to allow a random punk to play Vash, and in the chaos that would ensue as the hail of sub machine gun fire unloaded onto the poor thug...someone shot the bullet.

Lets not be mislead here. Militarily trained, a sub machine gun is fired in 3 consecutive bursts aiming for a target area, usually the head or the chest. For a squad to unload on a single target. The targets head and torso area is usually mushed...unless of course along with his godly aim, he uncovered the ability to dodge a veritable rain of projectiles moving at over 1000ft per second. Unlikely.

But incase he was trying to turn tail and run, he would find an interesting interuption. In the loud caucophony of gunfire and bullet dodging, its very easy to miss a small shadow spreading out across the ground. With a change in cloud cover its very common, but this shadow was no simple cloud. The running thug would find his way blocked as a mini deep sea pod piloted by a believedly rich Gaian, wishing to explore smashed into the ground not but 3inches in front of him. Surely if he wasnt careful he'd be squashed by it.::

A giant ball of bullshit fell on everyone in the area, causing enough surprise to allow the gangstas to escape.
Everyone would escape without being squished of loaded with bullet holes, and just have to deal with being smelly.

But wait! They wouldn't even have to worry, since a convenient westerly wind titled Deus Ex Machina by some clever young intellectuals, would swoop briskly across everyone affected by the bullshit, and wipe them clean, leaving them smelling as badly or as good as they did before.

And the strange pattern of crap reading YOU ALL SUCK would be wiped off the face of the Earth as well.

Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe.
The rock is still alive every time I rhyme.

Shouyin was rollin' in his six-fo' (six** doo doo doo!), bobbing his head nice 'n easy as he tried to find a suitable bar, bounty headquarters, or similar informal informational establishment. Specifically one with easily accessed parking spots, that parallel s**t's a b***h.

Upon location of such a locale, specifically a bar that appeared to be the perfect combination of ruff 'n tuff, buddy buddy, hush hush, and did'ya hear to provide for the half-golem's needs, he'd put the car in park, and lean back in his seat, throwing his feet up on the dash and pulling the right sleeve of his t-shirt back.

Good morning, this ain't Vietnam still
People lose hands, legs, arms for real.
Little was known of Sierra Leone
And how it connect to the diamonds we own.

"A'right, let's see what's good," he said as he laid the spellbook out on his lap, and withdrew the Night's Brush from his jeans. Using his newfound understanding of the Lunoc language, he flipped through the pages, perusing certain arrays and storing page numbers of interest in his memory. He'd soon find an interesting spell concerning basic Shadow manipulation, and would go about copying the array on his arm. Satisfied with the design, he'd focus at his right palm, trying to avoid those half-golem abilities and tap into that Shadow understanding, something he'd been fiddling with during the drive.

Surprising what people hid in those things.

When I speak of diamonds in this song
I ain't talkin' bout the ones that be glowin'.
I'm talkin' bout Rocafella, my home, my chain.
These ain't conflict diamonds, is they Jacob? Don't lie to me mayn.

Eventually, a wavering sphere of darkness would appear, floating an inch or two above the stony hand, rotating slowly with gentle wisps of black circling again around that. Grinning happily, Shouyin would snap his hand shut, making a fist around the ball. The Shadow would begin to seep through the cracks in his grip, sifting out and upwards like a thick dark steam.

Then, he'd snap his fingers, and with a soft poof the black would disappear. It wasn't much, but he could do it, and that was enough to keep Shou confident. He'd tattoo two more arrays onto his arm, one to create shadow flame (which he found he had to keep in check with the first array so his right arm didn't ignite randomly), and another for summoning spirits; ghostly little shadows that could obey simple commands, act as scouts, observers, that sorta thing.

I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man!
Let me handle my buisness, damn!

He'd tug his sleeve down then, admire the decorations that now covered his stone arm in three sections, and reach into the rear seat for his backpack, withdrawing a leather-bound notebook. Inside this, he practiced writing out arrays on paper, preparing spells for later and all that. He only finished two, one for a Shadow Duplicate and another for a Soul Bind thing. Both required runes defining a target, but those could be left blank for now. He was going to try another that summoned a rather intense sounding creature, but thought better of it for now lest it activate immediately and ruin his car. Content with all this, he'd set his 'pack aside, put the notebook on top, turn off his music, and step out of the car, locking everything up and setting the parking meter for a few hours as he headed into the bar.

Diamonds are forever. ~

::When a spell is cast a few basic chain reaction inexorably occur. One must reach into a base pool of arcana and draw from it to cause a desired chain reaction. This causes ripples in the rest of the pool, like dropping a stone into water. With a simple fireball spell, or your everyday occurances, the base pool is vast like an ocean. An individual tossing a stone into the ocean will not be noticed by someone on another continent.

With Lunoc, this was decidedly different. The base pool from which the arcana was drawn, was Nocturne. Due to this single, relatively tiny source, the size and noticability of the ripple is highly increased. If a person were to cannonball into a kiddy pool...everyone notices. This has never been a problem in the past, as anyone accessing Nocturnes power did it for Nocturne. With Shouyin working with the Holy Lord, and another...working against....things have changed. And someone noticed, even Shouyins relatively miniscule effect.

This is not to insult Shouyins power, but when spells exist to rupture a divide between dimensional fabrics, or rend the soul from the flesh....making a ball of shadow is rather small in comparison.

Yet still, when someone has their eyes locked on the water....the ripple was noticed.

Everywhere there is a shadow, there can be a shadow wielder. And shadows are everywhere. Shouyin would open his car door to see a man standing directly outside the door. This man was dressed from head to toe in black. His skin was pale as death, and his eyes were hidden by glare behind a pair thick black rimmed glasses. His hair was short and spiky and navy blue, and he wore atop his head a black tophat with embroidered bat wings across its surface.

The man was rather cleanly dressed, not a speck of lint had stained his black clothing. He wore jacket much like a priest though the neck was covered due to ratty black scarf around the mans neck. The scarf was crisply black and quite clean, it was merely torn and frayed a bit as it blew in the slighest of breezes. The jacket was long sleaved and the sleave lead directly to gloved hands, the gloves also black. Much like his black dress pants and matching black boots.

He seemed unarmed, but as he moved to push up his glasses the back of his right hand was revealed. And a set of Lunoc markings could be seen. Though they were hidden again as his hand fell down to his side.

His face was most stern showing little to no emotion what so ever. And he spoke in an equally flat tone.::

Sadly Shou had no knowledge of this, so when he stepped out of his car and was confronted with another imposing black figure he was basically scared shitless. Like in that one movie, with those snakes, on that plane, and a big snake just jumps out of nowhere and everyone inhales quickly and hops back. That's what happened, so the half-golem was stretched back against the side of his Impala.

"Jeez mayn, y'scared me," he'd say when he found it to simply be another strange denizen of Gaia, making his acquaintance in a fittingly spooky fashion. He'd ease up then, straighten himself out 'n all that, and hold out his hand in the good ol' greeting manner.

"That's me," smile, shake hopefully, "and to who do I owe the honour?" He kept calm, trying to ensure tact, manners and whatnot. However, the fellow knew his last name, which was not something freely given until the most recent weeks or months. As in, only two, or well three people knew that was his name, and one of them wasn't exactly a person. Few other comrades might make the association, but in a different way. The point of it all? He was kinda on edge, didn't know what to expect.

But might as well try and get off on the right foot eh?

::Ever silent, and ever stoic, the man glanced down at the hand he was offered and back at Shouyin. His eyes gazing directly into Shouyins. With the slight movement of the cloud cover the glare on his glasses was removed revealing eyes as black as night. Eyes which much like Nocturne's seemed to simply devour light as it tried to bypass it. He simply stared seemingly off into nothingness.::

"That's me, an--

::Thats all the man needed to hear. He didnt even have the common courtesty to let Shouyin finish his sentence, instead rather rudely he cut the man off.::

You serve the Holy Lord Nocturne.

::His hands immediately moved above his head as if grabbing the hilt of some invisible sword and sent it chopping down, attempting to cleave Shouyin in twain from head to groin. At first no sword seemed present, just two hands grabbing empty air. But, as close as he was to another Lunoc user Shouyin would be able to feel the shadows being pulled into the mans grip, and before the "invisible" sword reached the roof of Shouyins car it would be quite visible.

It measured about 4ft long, and 2inches wide, and was horribly sharp. It looked almost like a katana except night black, and straight as opposed to curved. It was wielded with incredible speed. At this range, wether or not the half golem moved it seemed his car was in for renovations.

As for the question of what exactly was running through this attackers mind, Shouyin was answered quite vocally as the man shouted a single word while bringing his shadow sword down.::

DIE!

::Not the most unique wording, but it got the gist across.::

"Huh?" Shou said in a stumbling tone. First the guy wouldn't shake his hand, now he was interrupting him!? That's just -rude-. None of this felt right, the guy knew too much about some very recent occurances in the half-golem's life, and that whole shadow sword trick was easily confirming Shouyin's fears about the dark fellow.

Wait. Shadow, sword, Shou's car!

NO U!

That strange subconscious compulsion would get everything rolling. Sokugoku awareness kept the natural in check as usual, and with Shouyin flexing his new Shadow awareness abilities, he might not be able to get the jump on the guy, but he could certainly interrupt him. Or well, that's what he'd be thinking---

After he'd already struck.

Mukuuken. A 7th Chamber technique adopted by the Wu-Tang Clan from a Chinese martial art called Renkoukeiken. It revolves around three principles: Muhyoushi (no rhythm), Muishiki (no consciousness), and Musatsui (no killing intent). Combined this equals an ultimate attack where you strike unconsciously. A "mukuu" punch, cannot be predicted. There is no telegraph, no mental preparation, the brain does not think it, the spinal cord does not send the necessary signals; the fist attacks using the will of the fist itself.

The motion was simple. All it would consist of was a short step forward while his right hand formed a fist and punched in and downwards at his opponent's abdomen, interrupting the sword strike quite effectively. Coupled with a quick exhalation of breath to focus strength and energy, the crazed assailant would soon find himself with feet off the ground, flying backwards. Shouyin wouldn't even know he'd attacked before it was too late.

Of course there was always the chance the man could shift mid-strike, possibly brushing off the attack or lowering his opposite hand to parry or push it away. However even this would become futile as the half-golem's subconscious tapped into those brand new Shadow powers, utilizing them with a base understanding, which was all that was needed. Much like what'd happened just a moment before, a ball of black would form in front of the half-golem's fist. However unlike last time, it would be noticably larger, and quite unstable looking as wisps of shadow flames licked off the ends. Rather than the ball simply pressing into the man's torso and dispersing painfully though, it would explode, good ol' fashioned kinetic energy bursting outwards, before being focused in front by the power of Shouyin's punch, enhancing the strike immensely.

DIE!

"Not just yet."

"Lots of martial arts are based on the circle. The so called 'technique' for releasing internal power. The circle is 'power' that doesn't move. In other words, while you are storing up that 'power' coming from that circular movement, it is continuing to accelerate more and more.

Passing through the shoulder, eventually all that energy is tempered like a needle through the arm. Then directing the inherent energy from the circular motion to a straight line... taking on the qualities of that fist... to send all the gathered force galloping toward your opponent all at once."

Or so a wise man once said.

The news footage of the fighting in Ymiristan was broken by a live wire broadcast from General Bakkar himself, interposed with footage of the Omega weapon descending, if that was possible.

"People of Gaia, this is General Bakkar, defense minister of Ymiristan. I'm sending this message through the wires only out of desperation, as few of our people expect to live to see the dawn. At present, our nation has repulsed a massive undead attack, but it seems that is not enough. The Ymiristani government has made many mistakes, one being the aggression we've shown to the world concerning Aekea, we apologize for those transgressions. Now, let me be frank with you, we are under attack, Edward Yaits the III is dead, and a weapon of legendary power is approaching the national HQ. The terms issued the Ymiristan leadership are simple, we must surrendor or die. If we surrendor, Yaits city will become the ultimate necropolis, on the very doorstep of Durem. I have.... the leadership of Ymiristan has choosen.... to go down fighting.... even if such a struggle means certain death. We will not make it easy for these bastards to conquer world, we will fight until every last drop of Ymiristani blood has been absorbed into the rocky soil. Tonight, Ymiristan is fighting a battle that will decide the fate of the world, and I'm damn proud to know I'm on the right side for once. Over and out!"

ROCK FIST, SHADOW STYLE: ONE INCH DARKNESS

::To be honest, replica's are never any comparison to the real thing. A skilled fighter would not have been able to read the move coming, but have simply seen motion and generally moved. A skilled fighter would also not have been stupid enough to attack so openly.

The target Shouyin was fighting was lacking greatly in skill. What he did have however was dangerous enthusiasm. But little skill, offensive, or defensive.

The explosion of energy was massive, while obviously another shadow wielder would take a portion less damage from the attacking shadow, he would be far from immune. But with the sheer unyielding force of the blast and the surprising light wieght of the opponent, he was in for quite a trip. In the uproar of dirt and debris not much could be seen, but there was the definite sound of glass shattering and several mispleased voices. They ranged from angry to generally scared. And as the dust settled a shattered window as revealed and a few faces poking out from inside a local establishment some feet ahead of Shouyin, and deciding Shouyin wasnt someone to be messed with.

But again, in the tiny shadow pond...there was a ripple.

Shouyin would be fresh off the heels of his last attack when a, "Thunk Thunk" was heard. Unfortunately this was not the sound of something falling, rather this was the sound of a figure landing on the roof of Shouyin's car already in mid swing, swinging a matching shadow sword directly aiming for the half golem's neck line.

This figure was identical to the last, only unscathed. One might believe that this meant the original attacker had gone unharmed, but the broken window proved otherwise. This left the obvious question of "How?". Unfortunately, the middle of an attack was not the best time to be pondering the reasons why one is being attacked. Being at the edge of the car roof, and at the opposite end of his swords 4ft reach, this figure obviously believed he was safe from the fate that had befallen his predecessor. Only time would tell.::

Thunk Thunk

And Shouyin would come out of his strange daze, turning his head around one-eighty to see... the same guy attacking him from atop his car? He might've been more surprised, but his concern for the vehicle's well-being overrid such distractions.

c***k!

The shadow sword would find itself connecting with a thick layer of stone, spread across the right side of Shouyin's face, neck, and shoulder, actually connecting to the rock of his right arm. Though, with the t-shirt on top, you couldn't see that stuff at work.

Grinning a little with jaw clenched, the half-golem would reach up and across his side-facing body, grabbing the blade in his right hand from overtop to his left (hand hooking around, blade pushed away from his neck, braced somewhat against the inside of his forearm). Quickly and strongly then, he'd pull inwards, hoping either to disarm the man, force him to dispell the blade, or simply yank the foe off his car by his grip on the sword, dropping him down into a devastating vertical-fisted straight punch with his left hand (now his lead since he was facing forwards with his left foot in front).

In that situation he'd aim to hit the man straight in the mouth, lower knuckles cutting the lip while the upper ones rammed in and underneath the nose, hopefully causing a s**t load of hurt and making the weird clone fellow's black eyes water, so that Shou could execute a follow-up. A temporary abandonment of Iwaken techniques in favour of the man's unorganized murderous brawling winning style.
