niamhybeag *reads first post of that thread* Duuude. Those kids need to step away from the pixie sticks and do their schoolwork. Hehehe - also can't imagine that a particular ethnic group in the Himalayas, called the Naga, would be too impressed to see some hyperactive kiddiewinks using their name to describe snake people. It's actually a Pāli word (though they missed the letter notation) for beings found in Hinduism. I didn't read too carefully, was this a girl claiming this? Or a guy?

Sanskrit and Pali, actually. 3nodding Fun people with the ability to turn into snake critters. Generally based off King Cobras when they show up in snake form. Nice lot, really, in many cases. There's a wicked statue/art series floating around of the Buddha being sheltered by one in a rainstorm. Aaarts.Hindu version apparently has a tendency towards being a little nastier than the Buddhist version.

My inclination would be that if it was a chick making the claim, to point out she can't be a very good one if she's so ignorant of what she is as to not be able to even spell it correctly.

Nagini. 3nodding I remember it from Riki Tiki Tavi, of all places... ninja Quote: My inclination would be that if it was a chick making the claim, to point out she can't be a very good one if she's so ignorant of what she is as to not be able to even spell it correctly. Let's be fair here; I don't even spell it properly. I tend to use overly Romanized forms of pretty much everything I talk about, including the name of the Pali language itself. I should probably stop that. xd

Byaggha Nagini. 3nodding I remember it from Riki Tiki Tavi, of all places... ninja The story that made me pretend to be a mongoose for three months. ninja Quote: Let's be fair here; I don't even spell it properly. If you claimed to be one, I'd mock you too. twisted Quote: I tend to use overly Romanized forms of pretty much everything I talk about, including the name of the Pali language itself. I should probably stop that. xd That much I can forgive. I still haven't figured out how to get my computer to type with the proper marks for any of the Irish I ask Cu about. sweatdrop But then, I'd argue with you if you used the masculine over the feminine form when addressing yourself in another language out of ignorance too. wink

TeaDidikai The story that made me pretend to be a mongoose for three months. ninja Glad I'm nt the only one. xd Quote: But then, I'd argue with you if you used the masculine over the feminine form when addressing yourself in another language out of ignorance too. wink Maybe it's like Sailormoon Sailor Stars, where they're one gender before transformation and the complete opposite after? The Stars went male to female, maybe the 'naga' works the other way... ninja

I prented to be both the mongoose and the snake. I had a lot of solo playtime for not being an only child neutral

I'm not exactly sure if it works in guilds the same as in forums, but if you are quoting someone else, it might be a good idea not to add the username of who you are quoting, unless you really want them to know you are quoting them. With the whole, getting an email notification every time someone quotes you, thing that Gaia has going on now.

I wonder if the quoting thing applies when its first copy-pasted into a PM.... Ah well, if they get angry I'll just say that I assumed they had grown past these opinions in the three years since they were posted.
And just so I can crush that tiny spark of hope anybody had about these people-
1)I'm a hundred pages in and no, this is not a roleplay. They believe it. Now whether or not it works, I don't know because members of the same delusion were arguing over who's mind the gaping abyss was in, and who's shard of soul slapped someone else's mind inhabitant.
2)I have stumbled over other posts by these people and yes, they still believe this stuff. They were considered big shots in that particular guild and everyone believed them.
3)I think I have no life XD Is it wrong that I enjoy trawling through this crap (which did turn into a cat roleplay for about six pages -.-;; ), laughing my a** off as I go?
Oh well. I go to get my teeth cleaned. If anyone's still interested, I'll keep posting the greatest hits when I get back wink

TeaDidikai It's a bit like watching a train crash. I think it's more like two kids in wizard capes making train noises and crashing into each other.
